Disgusted and disappointed by this school's decision to tour China without 3 of its members because they are South Korean. In another time, they would have left black students behind to tour South Africa, or Jewish students out to tour Germany. This is no different.

Just because the students agreed to be left behind does not absolve the school of this heinous decision. Obviously they felt pressured, and clearly their integrity as team members guided them to place the good of their team above their own interests. The school is using the acquiescence of these students to rationalize kowtowing to China's blatant racism - which is completely unacceptable, and a vile lesson to teach. Their dean says with words that music has the ability to unify, but what he says with actions is that the school will bow to racism and political pressure by abandoning its colleagues in the name of money. Shameful!

Impressive performance venues but very small and located right in downtown Rochester

The Eastman Community Music School has excellent teachers for individual and group music.

Saw the nutcracker for the first time ever. Very reasonably priced for tickets and a great show. Everyone should see These talented performers. Cool story, nice facility well kept and orderly. Nice job with the upkeep of a cool looking architecture building. Beverages and snacks available. Well done.

Fantastic college to obtain your music degree from. The dorms are a little on the small side, even for a college. But the city like campus is great.

They have a great violin tutoring program for children. The instructors are all very talented and are passionate about teaching a young child who is just venturing into studying violin. There is lots of parking available in the vicinity and is in the center of the City of Rochester

This place is top-notch. All around. No wonder it's country-renowned.

Born and raised in Rochester, NY and having studied at both the Eastman Community Music School and the Eastman School of Music (B.M. Jazz Guitar Performance and Contemporary), I can say with confidence that the Eastman School of Music is a world-class institution. Its students, educators, and legacy speak for themselves. One can find Eastman graduates touring the world, performing in leading symphony orchestras, composing music for film and television, and filling countless other niches in the world's music community. If you're serious about understanding music on the deepest levels, don't neglect a visit to this historical school (established by George Eastman) and its extraordinary treasure trove that is the Sibley Music Library (one of the largest anywhere).
