Eastbourne Downs Golf Club Review

I played for fun at this golf course when I was a teenager and then had my wedding reception here this year. I cannot fault Katie and the team in anyway, and as a bride you so want it to be perfect! Thank you so much for all you did on that day. I would recommend so highly this venue for any kind of event, and if you are lucky enough to have good weather then it is an added bonus as they are the absolute best views ever!

Had several rounds of golf and found the course a challenge It also drains well, but can be very windy

Great course some holes a forgiving and some not, i like this course rain or shine hence why have now became a member

Greens were superb, probably the best they have been in over 10 years.

Will be much better when the greens are sorted out.

Great value winter golf. Greens exceptional for time of year and course perfectly playable despite days of heavy rain

Staff helpful. Amazing view evidently. Seemed a bit disorganized

Lovely breakfast from 9:30 Monday to Friday, even on a bank holiday. Despite turning up half an hour early on the bank holiday Monday they were happy to feed us and our kids breakfast.

It's a lovely place to go. But I think the drinks are very expensive.

Nice course, very forgiving after the first few holes. Nice challenges. Will be returning

Course in great condition, weather was lovely too. The is a 'must play' par 5 here. Must also be the friendliest club I've been to in a long time. Excellent food - I recommend the fruit crumble!

Lovely course on too of the downs,great view,good green,s, wide variety of strokes,needed, keep on the short grass no problems,some severe slopes can slide the ball into the rough, when you see the slope aim right,good welcome, only covid restrictions spoiled the round but as able to sit outside and enjoy the evening views recommended

You're playing golf in a national park. Its lovely.

Good course condition for February, no surface water after a few days of rain. Could do with a course map on the scorecards or better signage as sometimes you're just twatting the ball over a hill hoping for the best. Nice food in the clubhouse.

Course a little hit and miss...not very appealing clubhouse

Very friendy. Interesting course. Greens in very good conditions.

Classic downland course, a good challenge with fast running fairways and testing greens. A really friendly place to be, had a fantastic breakfast and came back for Sunday lunch. Friendly staff in the pro shop - all round great value place to be

Having not played here before i found it a little hard because the next tee direction are not marked, also there are no maps of the hole on the tee, so it was difficult to know where to place the ball. But having said that i still enjoyed it and i would play here again.

Attended an anniversary party here and the views are stunning (despite the road right outside). The staff were attentive and friendly, and the buffet food was very tasty. Inside, the amenities were clean and monitored.

Closed a lot of the time in out of season months. Temporary greens are a bucket hole in the fairway. In summer it's a lovely course to play though. Very hilly course so need to be fairly fit. Great head pro. Very few buggies so book ahead. Worth a round.

Well looked after 18hole course, with really nice views of eastbourne and surrounding areas. Green fees set at a reasonable price. The course is quite hilly in places so if mobility is an issue id hire a cart. All in all a nice woodland course.

Of the Eastbourne courses by far the best layout. Loads of opportunities to score. Greens improving, hopefully sustainably, time will tell. Still a few silly tee shots when hit well still disappear into "bundi" because of fwy placements. WINDY just look at the shapes of trees.

Great evenings golf, course looking better each time I play.

Best thing about this course not only do they like my children playing. I get to take my dog too. I will never understand how anyone can say no dogs. As long as they are well trained and under control what's the problem. Now everyone in my family is happy.

Had evening meal which was very good and reasonable price for a Sunday.

The only reason it has a 5 star from me is because of the service received. I considered a 4 star rating as the venue proves difficult to find if you aren't local (didn't see any signs on road), I had no signal on my phone and the drinks weren't cheap enough! Lol But apart from that it was a lovely place to go, nice rural setting, picturesque views and a good customer service / experience. All round nice place to have a wedding party. We all had a fantastic time so it gets a thumbs up from me!

Very interesting course with wide fairways. We played it in very warm conditions and the fairways were running fast. It got quite windy as the course is high on the downs. There are some big contours but it made for a challenging round of golf.
