This could be the worst school in history and it turned our family against the love and respect of teachers. They took a year off because they were too scared of covid, knew the tolls it took on kids but didn't care. Then took 3 more weeks off for Easter and wouldn't even respond to emails so they could get a "break" They have had multiple complaints to the department of civil rights but they truly don't care. There is a board that runs the school and it appears that the "administration" either has no choices or just doesn't care. Not to mention their quote of "this is a school of choice so if you don't like it, choose something else.".
We don't have many logical choices to get our kids out but support your local public school and put this school out of business. Remember, charter schools are businesses

Forgot to mention the" gang
of parents that will attack you if you question the school

Administration, teachers & staff who sincerely care about their students! Wonderful environment for engaging children in learning & helping them excel to the best of their abilities! Test scores are phenomenal for EWA & so is the graduation rate and rate of those accepted to college! Proud to be part of the EWA family!

East Wake Academy is an awesome and beautiful school. My kids absolutely love this school. The staff is very friendly and caring. The teachers always respond quickly to any questions, and the teachers I have encountered have always been attentive and on top of everything!

This is the crappiest school ever. The teachers here suck. My parents took me out but not before I met the eighth grade science teacher. God I have never thanked my parents enough but still Mrs.loyd was the worst ever. That's all I'm going to say on the subject. DON'T SEND YOUR CHILD HERE PLEASE

This place could not be more blatent that all they care about is money. They got federal money, they get public money and now instead of emailing about your kid they send emails every day asking for more money. They are a public school but don't have to follow public school laws, they can launder money and have an on staff lawyer that threatens anyone that questions them. They hire teachers that hate kids and defend the teachers when they traumatize your child. They have parent supporters harass anyone that questions them so they can get away with it. They have friends on the boards that should be policing them. This place should be investigated and closed

Best thing we ever did is take our child OUT of EWA. He cried every day he had to go there, and because he was an average student and not one that could grasp 3rd grade level work in 1st grade (because they pride themselves on overachievers and there is no place there for an average kid), they actually had the nerve to tell me I should get my child tested to see if he was autistic.. That was the LAST straw... We took our child out of there and he has NEVER been happier and he has EXCELLED at his new school and is excited to go every single day....AND now, he is working at ABOVE grade level and is so very happy. :)

This school is a business, don't ever forget it because the school will never let you forget it. Your child will resent you your entire life for sending them to this business.
They don't care about your kids and they are blatent about it. They get your money, federal money and private money and they still have the nerve to be terrible people

This is one of the most fantastic schools I have ever encountered. The high school teachers are amazing. it is not unusual for a teacher to help students after hours or on weekends. The classes are rigorous and challenging but taught with a genuine care for a student's development as a responsible, global citizen
