They are only allowed do to tastings, not tours because of licenses. Kind of on the pricey side for a tasting for each person. Make sure to check the Winery Finder App for deals, or you can share a tasting. Tasting is done on the patio are which was nice. Good wines. We preferred the Decoy Cab.

With the fires around the area, it forced me to reminisce on our trip there a few years ago. Great place to stop at. Wine tasting was paired with great food bites. Seated on the beautiful patio.... just a great time and hope we get a chance to go back. Hope all are safe...

Besides the the service the wine is our absolute favorite from the whites to Cabs do yourself a favor and try their off the chart Merlots...AMAZING (wine spectator winner)!! Also if you ever want to enjoy an event in Napa, Duckhorn is second to none with the Derby Party. We love you guys and can t wait to visit again!!

Beautiful property sipping wines on the porch with perfect weather. Known primarily for their merlot (Wine Spectator 2017 wine of the year, 2014 Three Palms Merlot), they also produced excellent Cab (valley floor and mountain fruit) and other varietals from sister labels.

Outstanding wines and well kept grounds. Make a reservation on opentable for the best experience, gets super busy. Love the migration chardonnay and the big cabernets here. $40 for 5 wines at a table.

Not that impressed with our tasting experience at Duckhorn. It felt very corporate, impersonal, and rushed. It was relatively busy (even during Covid times) and the porch we sat at felt crowded. Our host was friendly enough, but was dealing with many different tables at different stages of their tastings; so he seemed a bit distracted/confused. Overall, this is not the place to go if you want an exclusive feeling experience.

Wow. This was amazing. Duckhorn had excellent staff, service, personable, helpful, kind, friendly. Enjoyed the whole visit. Tasted many beautiful wines. The flavors were great and appreciated how there was a card for each wine. Johnathan and Geordy helped us and brought us our next wine and discussed it! They were both wonderful and very helpful! Appreciated the whole visit. Parking was free. Reservations are needed. They had seating inside and on the patio. They seated you. Also, they had a gift shop and some small snack plates

Duckhorn offered an amazing tasting experience. First, they offered a two-for-one special for military. Second, our server was incredible. He was very friendly and cordial. He was excited about their wines and let us taste several extra wines. I felt like we received special treatment and it felt good! Third, the location is absolutely beautiful. We sat on the porch, which is heated. My wife was still a little cold, so they brought her a comfy blanket. We went for a walk in their garden and through they grounds, which was very relaxing. Finally, the wine was absolutely delicious! Overall, this was one of the best tasting experiences I had in Napa.

Olivia our host was the best, she was able to hone in on the types of wines my wife and I would enjoy and poured them even though they were not part of the tasting. Let's just say an hour and a half tasting ended up being almost three hours. Might have been the best tasting I've experienced and I come out to California yearly for the past ten years.

What a great estate with a beautiful garden and a couple of water features. Plenty of inside and outside spots. This is an appointment place only. Call in advance. A nice little shop with little trinkets to buy along with the wine.

Landed up here, from a place that only took reservations. This place does the same, but we were able to sit at the bar without one. You pay first,. which is a little odd, but seems to be happening more often. The tasting is not cheap, but the setting and wines are quite nice. We ordered a cheese and meat plate, which was little pricey and small, but we got to keep the wooden plate! Service was pretty good after the 2nd tasting, as it took a bit of time after the first. Great knowledgeable staff. My only suggestion if they are looking to have more members, is too comp the tasting fee, if you decide to sign up for a membership. This is more of a restaurant than it is a tasting room.

Went to visit on Saturday after noon and were disappointed to find the location deserted. The front door was locked and the parking lot empty. Even thought we had no reservation, the website showed open so we took a chance to drop in. There wasn't even a list of openning hours posted so that we could plan a return trip. Having flown in all the way from Canada it was a let down. Hopefully we'll be successful next time.

Of the approximately 515 wineries in the region, this came highly recommended from a number of sources. But I've got to be honest, our poorer was nice but awkward and of the six wines tried, only one really impressed. There are better places to spend your time and money. Try (Jose at) Pine Ridge and/or the cave in Deerfield Ranch.

Overall very good wines, though you pay for it. That's fine, but I was extremely disappointed with the customer service. I went as part of a large birthday group that reserved a tasting room. Admittedly, I was 30 minutes late arriving, though the rest of the group was there and the entire room was reserved regardless.

The host was obviously annoyed with me when I arrived late. I threw him a bone, but he said that I couldn't have a cheese plate because it had to be prepared at the start since it took time to cut all the cheeses. Ok, fine... I tried to be understanding though he could have been a bit kinder in explaining. However, I thought it was pretty unprofessional of him to tell our group stories of how ignorant or ridiculous some of his previous customers were. The group awkwardly laughed along. I ended up buying their $125 pinot, and the host seemed to be more attentive after.

However, I found out later that they still charged me a full $72 for the tasting experience, which should have included the cheese plate that I never got. I thought that they could have at least given me a little bit of a discount for not having served me a cheese plate, but they said that the cost was for the seating itself and the cheese plate was complimentary...

Overall, I've always liked Duckhorn wines, but I was not impressed with the experience. I'll stick to Merry Edwards for high-quality pinots and a less pretentious environment.

We were very excited to visit this place because of the good reviews! The view is amazing and the wine is VERY good!

1- she barely told us anything about the wine we were drinking and didn t even give us time when she served us.
2- she didn t give us the crackers until we asked for them when I said other tables have it and we don t

5- she gave other tables more wine to taste such as rose that wasn t on the wine tasting program but not to us.

Overall I loved the place but I HATED the service We got.

PS: the hosts at the entrance were super sweet and very nice to us! I am disappointed that rh service after that didn t follow. I hope it s not because of our ethnicity or where we come from :(

Duckhorn is a must stop-and-see (and taste!) in the Napa Valley. Their gorgeous tasting room is located in an estate home nestled amongst vineyards. They offer seated tastings inside their tasting room or outside on the wrap around porch overlooking vineyards or in their beautiful gardens. You'll enjoy a relaxed and comfortable setting with personal attention from one of their wine educators. Taste wine, nibble on charcuterie, and learn about each unique wine in peaceful surroundings. Be sure to try their Merlot, it's what they're known for!

Our wine tasting leader was amazing! She answered all of our amateur questions without a beat and really helped guide us on what our own tastes were. She really made this experience here top notch. Out of the 9 places we went she was the most detailed, helping, and passionate. I wish I remembered her name to give a shout out! She s from Wisconsin and majored in biology.

One of the best tasting experiences ever! Here's some breakdown of Duckhorn:

-Appointment based on Weekends and suggested for Weekdays
-$30/person = Profolio Tasting (5 Current Release Wines)
-$60/person = Estate Tasting (semi-private @ 10am, noon and 2:30pm)
-$75/person = Private Tasting (Private, 11AM)
*more you pay = more privacy and more estate/reserved wines

After Duckhorn, I've had a change of heart for sit-town, table staffed tasting. Jessica (our hostess) elevated our tasting experience from beginning to end. She was personable and knowledgeable about Duckhorn's history and wines. Their entire tasting room oozes with charm, open windows, and wraparound porches. Instead of being overcrowded and feeling a busy bar, my tasting experience felt like a private tasting instead.

Duckhorn is well known for their Cabernet and Chardonnay, but they also have plenty of Merlot, Cab Franc, Zin-blends, Semillon, Sauvingon Blanc, and Petit Verdot. My FAVS:

2013 Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc
(Easy everyday sipping wine, Light and Crisp)
Winemaker Notes
"Both crisp and complex, this lovely Sauvignon Blanc displays enticing aromas of grapefruit, summer melon, lemongrass and lime zest with subtle hints of boxwood and Mandarin orange. Though it is crisp and refreshing from start to finish, there is a richness to the mid-palate that supports the vibrant fruit with a note of flinty minerality adding nuance and depth."

2010 Duckhorn Vineyards Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
(So Velvet and Smooth....can I please have more???)
*Production Notes

*Winemaker Notes
"As it is year after year, this is a big, beautifully structured mountain wine that promises to richly reward patient cellaring. On the nose, it offers complex aromas of wild blueberry, bay laurel, pencil lead, menthol and cassis. Youthful mountain tannins add firmness to the palate, while underscoring flavors of ripe cherry, blackberry preserves, black currant, pink peppercorn, wildflowers and holiday spice."

To this day, I'm still tempted to join their Duckhorn's Wine Club. Free shipping if you're a member at Duckhorn, but no discount unless you buy the case. The trick is to mix and match a case with some of their other labels that has a lower price point.

Money Saving Tip: 2 for 1 Coupon avaliable on Winery Finder App.

Beautiful patio for tastings. Save this for last because everything else will disappoint after. Recommend reservations in the summer time. Ask your tasting experts about other vineyards to check out or places to eat. They are always willing to keep your day going with new enjoyable experiences.

This was the third winery visited on day 2 out of ...

This was the third winery visited on day 2 out of our 4 magical days in Napa.

Unfortunately this visit was far from the magical experience we anticipated, we were running 10 minutes late since our visit at Joseph Phelps went over, my girlfriend called them to let them know, their response was that after 30 minutes we may lose our spots and they would have to see if there was anything available upon arrival.

We arrived and luckily didn't lose our space, we sat outside with overlooking the nice view, enjoying the nice weather. Our server Jenny was nice and friendly, and were served 5 current vintages.

I must say that all of these wines are good, but I have all of them in my cellar at home, so I didn't want to fly 3,168.4 miles to taste something I'm able to drink at home. I asked Jenny if we could have a taste of the wine of the year and she said that they didn't have a single bottle left... Then I talked to a manager to see if they can pull something out, or at least something older and more exclusive, this guy said that unfortunately they didn't have anything, so Jenny said "let me see what I can do for you" and I was immediately savoring for something good...

Like 10 minutes passed by and we were about to leave since we had another appointment at Merus Wines, when Jenny appeared with 2 glasses she said, "This is xxxxx" and immediately left... There was no explanation given as to the type or year of the wine. I didn't even know what "was so special in those glasses", they seemed annoyed over the request. We wanted to purchase a nice wine bag, but because there was nobody at the register to pay, we left without it.

Despite this tasting being complimentary because of being a member of their club, it was totally unworthy and unmemorable. We paid $30 for a cheese platter that was smaller than others we received free of charge at Alpha Omega and Ovid. I don't see myself returning to this winery, my visits to Napa are too short to be wasted, instead I will keep discovering new and smaller wineries with a more personal touch where I will feel appreciated. I felt as if I was just a number and they didn't value my presence.

To end on another note:

Duckhorn has always been one of my favorite wines, in particular their Merlots, many years ago I was a fan of the Duckhorn Three Palm Merlot, and I believe it was the 2011 vintage which is no secret was a tough one. I joined their wine club over 3 years ago, I have been buying their periodic wine shipments plus many other additional bottles, I can say with confidence that I have spent over $5,000 in Duckhorn wines. When Wine Spectator selected the 2014 Duckhorn Three Palms Merlot as wine of the year I was really happy for them and for the future of Merlot in general, as a funny side story, 3 weeks before that day I was drinking with my friends from a monthly blind tasting and I joked "that I had a Three Palms Merlot inside my wine bag", since many people still remember the movie Sideways, some wine connoisseurs rather stay away from Merlot when matching up with bold, serious wines. So one of the members at the table supported me and said, "I have also drank that wine and I like it a lot". Three weeks after when the news came out I received a call from a good wine friend present that night to apologize!

Just after I hung up with him I called Duckhorn and placed an order of 3 Three Palm Merlot 750ml, 1 Three Palm Merlot 1.5L and another 3.0, plus a few other cheap ones to complete the case and get the discount. When they shipped the wine only 1 of the 3 Three Palm Merlot 750ml arrived. I immediately emailed them and called, I got a reply from Sasha Braden (Membership Manager) implying that my story was fabricated. So I emailed her with all the weights of each package based on FedEx tracking's and the total weight of one of the boxes was at least 9lbs below what it should be if all bottles were in there. They then immediately shipped out the missing bottles, I never got an apology, nor a concession for their mistake.

Duckhorn Vineyards has always been one of my favorite wine producers. The tasting experience at Duckhorn is great and highly informative. They give you a description card for each wine you taste and the server did a great job walking us through each wine in the flight. The grounds are beautiful and the deck they do the tasting on is a perfect sport to take in the beauty.

Didn't get to try. We had high expectations for this winery and were really looking forward to the tasting experience. However, we were with our two children and were told they were not able to enter the tasting room. This wouldn't have been a problem as they would have happily waited in the gardens (they are old enough to amuse themselves) while we did some tasting. Disappointing that the person who welcomed us wasn't very proactive in offering any solution. We subsequently tried some of their wines during our stay the Napa valley region. Whilst the quality of the wines was very good we thought the value was poor as we found comparable and even better wines available at better price points.

I cannot express how wonderful our experience was at Duckhorn! My husband and I did the estate tasting and I highly recommend it. Our guide Luis was fantastic and a big part of the reason this was my favorite experience from our trip. You could tell he was invested in the product and he did a fantastic job of answering questions and engaging with our group. The wines are out of this world and the pours were perfectly paired to local cheeses. I can't wait to come back!

Absolutely amazing property, and even better wine! The award winning Malbec, or the 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, are a MUST try. Grab your glass and walk amongst the vines, or sit in their delicate back garden for a romantic experience. I HIGHLY recommend stopping by Duckhorn! One of Napa's best!
