I am so thankful to the educators and staff at Duchesne. My daughter is in her senior year and the young lady she has become is a direct result of the caring, loving and strong educational background which is a part of Duchesne. The leadership at the school develops strong women.
Duchesne has helped me to be a more independent and organized person. I am no longer afraid to ask questions in class, and I have yet to meet a teacher that hasn't or is unwilling to help me grow as a student and a person! Duchesne has created a positive community for students to interact with, which helps me to feel more comfortable about speaking up when I have a problem. I also enjoy the sports at Duchesne. They are at a higher and more competitive level, so are great for any athlete! There are a variety of different sports to choose from including volleyball, basketball, cross country/track, tennis, and swim. One of my favorite sports is the field hockey team, which I joined during my Freshmen year at Duchesne.
Going to Duchesne is one of the best decisions I have made because it allowed me to further my involvement in my community through its emphasis on service. Duchesne has this program integrated into our education called Social Awareness . In my first two years of high school, I participated in a total of eight outside-of-school service projects as a way to fulfill Goal 3 of the Sacred Heart Goals. I enjoyed spending time with my classmates while also actively helping my community at the Food Bank and at a donation center for Harvey victims. Yet, my favorite part during Social Awareness was leaving campus every Wednesday to serve Edgewood Elementary. I appreciated the fact that Duchesne sees service as a fundamental component to our education and our development as Sacred Heart students. Volunteering at Edgewood has also allowed me to share my love for the environment to younger students as I was given the opportunity to start an environment club there.
Duchesne is such a wonderful community, and I am so grateful that I have been apart of it for seven years now. The support that I gained from going to Duchesne will always stay with me. They have done a great job teaching me valuable life lessons as well as instill in me the importance of being a confident woman. They have implemented the Sacred Heart goals at school that we can live them out beyond the walls of Duchesne. The sisters are so nice and caring. You can easily converse with them while walking to class or during a break. Upper school creates a community within the grade to even the young pre-k 3 girls through all the activities they set up, from Conge to Unity Day to Concert for Uganda. I enjoy the fact that it is a smaller size school because I can easily go talk to my teachers whenever I am having trouble in their classes or to just go and talk about my weekend. I also like that I know everyone in my grade and a large number of students on campus. It is nice that wherever you go, there is someone that you know and can say hello when you pass each other in the hallway.
Going to Duchesne for high school is the best decision I have made. The teachers and administration are so accommodating, and I have been given so many leadership opportunities. When people ask me what my favorite part of the school is, I answer that the Sacred Heart network is the greatest part of my experience. My sophomore year, I was given the chance to go on a domestic exchange with the Sacred Heart school in New Orleans. This allowed me to witness the similarities in a Sacred Heart education around the country. There s a huge network of schools around the world where Sacred Heart students can connect through online classes and consistent traditions. Duchesne has prepared me for the future with the excellent college advisors and the alumnae connections that we build early on. I love the traditions, like Conge with the whole school, and the feud between the Blue Team and the Gold Team. Duchesne is a kind environment which has given me an outstanding education, and I am grateful for every moment I was able to spend.
I currently attend Duchesne and I absolutely love it. It is one of the most heartwarming and caring schools that I could've attended. Not only does it make you feel welcome, but it prepares you for everything that life throws in your way. If I could ever make any recommendation to anyone it would definitely be to attend :)
Duchesne is the school for me. The teachers and community are so welcoming and positive, it makes everyday a great one. The schoolwork is challenging but helpful and informative. There may be tough days every once in a while, but I know that that's what makes me a stronger Duchesne girl. Duchesne has taught me that all my goals are worth reaching and that I can accomplish anything if I really work towards it. The atmosphere once you enter the campus is like a family. You form life-long bonds with students. All of the students are always there for you to either help you with schoolwork or more. The teachers make sure to help you if you are struggling and are always there to support you every step of the way. Being at Duchesne has taught me important life lessons that are necessary to succeed in life. Without my education from this school I do not know where I would be in the future. In addition to the rigorous academics taught at this school, there are also a lot of pleasurable moments. Duchesne has taught me how to have a good time with the people I love.
At Duchesne Academy, I have been able to become my own unique person with my own interests while also forming relationships that will last me a lifetime. I am very grateful that I am able to be in this community for most of my life. At Duchesne, I am able to be a leader while also allowing and encouraging others to be a leader. While there are academically challenging times, teachers, as well as my classmates, want nothing but the best for me and are willing to help me with concepts I may not understand. The community at Duchesne is very welcoming, loving, and caring to anyone that is on campus. Duchesne has five goals that all of Duchesne revolves around, including extra curricular activities, academics, and athletics. The goals include things such as respect, responsibility, and maturity.

I started Duchesne as a freshman, and I must admit that it was intimidating to be entering a school that has such a tight-knit community. However, attending Duchesne for high school was the best decision I ever made because I have experienced so much, learned so much, and met so many amazing people. The relationships I ve made with my friends, teachers, and other faculty are absolutely amazing, and I couldn t ask for anything more. Moreover, Duchesne has challenged me intellectually and spiritually and pushed me out of my comfort zone, so I feel prepared to face college and beyond. My experience at Duchesne has broadened my perspective and opened so many possibilities for me in the future. It is something that will always be a part of me because it shaped me into who I am today. I am blessed to be a part of such a great and supportive community. I am a proud Charger!
