A facist school full of dictator teachers. Knew many kids who cut, were depressed, or had some kind of substance abuse. We learn nothing atall, the same stuff for 3 years so we can pass their tests.

My son has autism and was bullied. I was thrilled with DSST Stapleton. His first year was last year(2014-2015) and he thrived. The structure is exactly what he needed. I am beyond grateful to the staff and students for helping my son progress. Looking forward to this year!

0STARS FOR THIS DUMP! This school isn't about structure it's about control. Making children conform to fit in the same box. As we all know... that is an extremely poor educational model. The staff though some of the crappy ones have left also condoned and consigned the negative reinforcements by Creech and her minions. My personal horror story is that she failed my student the final week of school and refused ti start his IEP testing in a timely manner. To my understanding at some point the staff would notify you if your student was in trouble. I would visit for behavior but was never informed about academics. When we met to discuss the matter we were assured that my student with focus and hard work could advance to the proper grade before sports tryouts. Fast forward to the first day of our second year... I dropped off my student and went to get lunch. Upon my return 10 minutes later the receptionist asks if I was there for the 'incident' ? Creech had taken my student into the office when the bell rang to say you have NO CHANCE TO SKIP GRADES. I NEVER TOLD YOU THAT WAS AN OPTION. Guess what!? I (MOM) recorded the conversation. You do things like that when they repeatedly say things then deny them! DONT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE IF THEY HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS ! SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS DON'T MATTER AT DSST STAPLETON MIDDLE SCHOOL! Children are our future! If you don't like kids you shouldn't work with them! Don't ruin them before they grow up! The world will jade them on its own....

This school ruined my life. During my freshman year I was encouraged by my English teacher to submit my writing to a contest, I did so and also sent the same work to her to ask for anything I could do better. At this time I really loved the school, it was strict but I was doing the best I ever had in class, and was enjoying school despite the 40min and three buses it took me to get there. My teacher was aware of my writing style, it leans towards Edgar Allan Poe and Grimm's Fairy-tails. I was woken up at midnight by four police officers, put in hand cuffs and taken to a hospital for a psych hold. The teacher that encouraged my writing told the school that I was a danger to the students, and staff. I was put into a psyche-facility to evaluate my mental state. I left with nothing more than a diagnosis for Dysgraphia. Since I was mentally stable the school had no grounds for expulsion. I then found out that during their "Morning Meetings" where the whole high school is in attendance painted me as dangerous and unpredictable. None of the friends I had made would respond to my texts, save one that told me the things the school had said about me to the student body then never talked to me again. As I was still enrolled in the school and they couldn't expel me they informed me that I wasn't welcome by the student body and couldn't return for my own safety. I was forced to move schools as they simply wouldn't allow me access to the school. I won the national writing competition I entered. I haven't been able to write anything since, my grades dropped at my next school, and I eventually just dropped out.

It was a great place, as much as it might seem stressful when you're there. I'm very, very glad that I went to this school, and it seems to have paid off rather a lot. The kids that go there can't really understand the opportunities they're given. Trust me, I know, it's hard to see it as anything but crappy while you're there. It's really hard and all, and it's made even harder with the fact that the teachers care quite a bit about the students. It also seems rather disorganized and intent on just making you learning for the sake of tests, but honestly it is an amazing high school with a lot of brilliant people. I know I had no idea how beneficial it was while I was there, but now two years after the fact, it has really sunk in just how well they do their jobs there.

Absolutely awful experience with the deans and teachers how they handle situations is absolutely unacceptable under any circumstance. I have also noted that this school is deeply rooted in racism against every race not only minorities.
