DSJ Management Corp Review

My girlfriend and I been living at one of DSJ Management Buildings for 2 years, from 12/5/10 - 7/23/12. While getting into the building you have to go through a panel of 2-3 people of there so called board members which in fact don't care about the building but only the status of being called a "board member". Once in it was like living in a hostel mixed with one of the NYCHA building projects you hear about on the news. The neighbors hang out in the hallways at all hours of the night slamming their apartment doors and exit doors, smoking cigarettes which leak into your apartment, and the walls are sheet rock paper thin while you can hear your neighbor blasting music at all hours of the night (which they have certain guide lines which they do not follow), having sex, blasting music, and loud conversations. I had to knock on the walls and ceiling and doors at every hour of the night for 2 years for them to quiet down. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Their super makes excuses always saying he is off duty on a week day when his off duty time is on the weekend. It took us a year for him to fix our ceiling which was leaking from a neighbors radiator. There were mice and roaches everywhere, and if the bathroom didn't leak it became a sauna cause of all the hot water leaking out of the tub. Now I made a deal with the landlord to leave under good standing and I'am still receiving rent slips for an apartment I don't live in......although I was given my deposit back in exchanged for the keys. They should be called Backward Management. I kept calling them and they said it won't happen again and the apartment I left wasn't put down on the vacant list.

I am an owner at 2525 Nostrand Ave., and I understand the frustration and negativity because I've also experienced some of the same issues with Management in the past. Now I want to say to management; Pease care more about the owners of the apartments than yourselves. PLEASE GET THE NEGETIVE REVIEWS CORRECTED, there is no reason for negative reviews. This is costing Owners, only.

Rude people. The super and the porter of the building were helpful.

Great management & the best super I have ever dealt with .

This management company is the definition of trash. They will lie directly to your face and do whatever is within their power to keep as much money from your deposit as possible. Do not rent from them in any way.

Highly unrespectful, unhelpful, low-service and lazy people.

My neighbor broke my wall during renovation.
I notified DSJ at least 3 weeks ago but no answers. So I knocked on their door and a guy helped put a layer a compound on it. Waited for a day or two to put the second layer. Then they promised to come back at a certain date and time to sand/paint but never came. We wasted 2 days at home for them but couldn t find them and no answers. The management company did not take care of things until I kept pushing. They should have arranged all these for us instead of me pushing them, knocking on their door and calling them. It s finally done now but I lost 5 days of work to cover somebody s mistake and no one apologize to us at all.
