Kiara in the help desk is so wonderful. She is such a pleasure to deal with and she represents the DG Library well. She should be commended on her helpful approach and recognized as an asset to the library as a whole. Thanks again DG Library I appreciate you finding positive employees like Kiara.
The staff is absolutely amazing, extremely helpful! It was my first time at this specific library for research purposes, I had bunch of books brought to me by one of the librarians. The place looks very nice, is spacious, and has a wide range of collections of books!
Someone gave only two stars because of the WiFi speed. Really??? Is it really worth only two stars since the rest is mentioned to be wonderful? :)
Super-nice staff, clean, well-organized... And an astoundingly thorough graphic novel collection, which you don't normally see.
Its a large library with decent selection of books. Heck they even lend ipads for in-library usage with awesome internet connectivity. Only wish it was cheaper for out of towners
AMAZING STAFF! First time I went was about a month ago and many workers offered me assistance, and one woman who I wish I remembered the name of now, gave me a very wonderful tour of the facility while describing the many services DGPL offers. Outstanding location and building, many options, A++++ staff! Love coming back here! Great job DG!!!
Come here 3 times a week with a 16 month old and he has a blast. It can be crowded sometimes in the kids section but luckily it's big and has plenty to do. He has so much fun!
I love this library, don't let the low rating fool you this is a great place i have been coming here since a child, however there is one glaring fault. The Wifi. I came here to download a 5gb data file and was greeted with shocking low speeds of about 150kb/s. My 3G phone data is faster than that, and with LTE probably ten times that speed minimum. The low rating is for the library IT department, 11mb/s max speeds? Really? What good is that comcast alone pumps 50mb/s for like $30 a month. Its just plain ridiculous.
WHAT A SHAME THERE ARENT ENOUGH OF THESE ANYMORE. THIS IS A VERY FINE LIBRARY AND I ENJOY THEIR PROGRAMS!

Library just opened during COVID scare. They are doing a great job keeping everyone safe.
All the librarians are extremely friendly and helpful. I love coming to this library. I can't think of one thing I dislike about it.
Seen mice running through the library on the 1st Floor and the staff could not figure out the printer/copies
This is a great public library in Downers Grove. The parking lot is right downtown and always has spots available even though it s next to the train station. There are hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of selections of books and you can find all sorts of music and different types of media here. The librarians are extremely kind and the vibe is what you would typically expect from the library. It is nice and quiet to do study work and there is plenty of meeting rooms to collaborate with a group. I enjoy coming here every so often for various types of reasons. It is very comparable to other public library s in the area in terms of how much you can find in the place. If you re looking to study or find some good books this is the place to be.
The staff are absolutely eager to help. They act like they are in the knowledge business! The facilities are practical, comfortable and attractive. And with the larger web services to which they connect, why would anyone not use this place often?
It is a terrible place. I called 6 times they hug up and staffs are extremely rude. Shame on them take my tax money. Crapy and very rude librarians.
Rude staff! There was an old man who kicked my friends and I out because he thought we were with a larger group of crazy kids.

I just love our library! They have lots of books and if they don't have it there is a great borrowing system. They have lots of activities for children. I went back to school a little while ago and they have quiet rooms to study in and table space on the 2nd floor that is nice and quiet too. Staff is friendly and helpful.
They have variety of books for everyone. The decorations and the environment itself are very soothing and nice to look at. The staff are very nice and helpful too. One of the best libraries I've been to.

Downers Grove Public Library has good collection of books.The location is nearer to my office,so its very good place for me to relax with some good books after office hours.

I was kicked out by an old man who told me I was up to no good. I feel violated, and I will never feel the same. I am disgusted with this service.
I love it. Such a kid-friendly library and being able to bring my two young kids in on a regular basis really makes me feel like part of a community. My local library was a big part of my childhood and I appreciate being able to replicate that for my kids.
Right now I'm tearing through a series of books and I love being able to put a hold on the next one as I get close to finishing the current one. The library exchange means even if it's not on the shelf there's usually a copy somewhere ready in a day or two, and I can drop off the old one and check out the new one in about 90 seconds.

This is one of the best libraries that I've ever been to! The staff are smart, kind and helpful. The selection of books is obviously amazing, but the music and movie selections are hidden treasures! Great building, too. New designs and decor. Always bright and cheery. Love the DGPL!!
As a child and adolescent, I would ride my bike here to check out book, study, do research, and whatever else I needed. And I didn't even live in Westmont - I biked over from Westmont!
Overall great library. Just a couple of crappy librarians that made the experience terrible. Arrogant and basically useless. Not all of us sit our fat buts in front of a computer all day so when you ask for assistance chose the person you ask wisely.
It's nice that they have figured out a way to coexist with the people which currently are called homeless. also it's a great library with many many books. You should come in and read a book. Did you know that you could read a book not online? It's amazing that we have these things called libraries that actually have physical books in them. It's a possibility that soon these books won't exist so we should gain all their knowledge right now! Do it! Try it
DGPL is great. Everyone working there has always been helpful and encouraging in all my interactions. Through the difficulties around covid-19 they have still supplied all the resources that they can safely supply. I'm glad to have this as my local public library. Stay awesome DGPL.
Horrible..... old man kicked us out. We were trying to get a study session goin... but I guess not. Not only completely in professional but also made me cry.... all I have to say is I'm hurt....
Consistantly good programming. This library is always up to something and makes an effort to connect with all patrons (young, old, homeless, people who like board games, people who like nature, etc). Even if I don't partake in all the events I still smile when I see how much they have going on!
A nice quiet place to work with up to date tech and a large selection of books for research or reading.
I love going to this library, you ask why coz the staff at this place is amazing. Even if I have to wait and drive around for parking spot I don't mind. It's so organize and the variety of material you can obtain is fantastic. Kudos to the staff for keeping it at its best. Good going everybody

I have been going to this library since i was a little girl. it's truly wonderland i have never met a mean staff member all the books are in perfect condition. there are place for kids,teens adults and people of every age in-between. The Library is truly the heart of Downers Grove and they are re-modling so there will be more than just books to experience at the library. Also if you would like to buy a book there is a lovely little book shop right next to it.
Dude I love this library they have a Xbox PS4 and a Wii U the staff is absolutely thoughtful people but at one point one old man kicked me and my friends out for no reason it was stupid but other wise love this library started coming here long time ago love it here

Great staff. But this is the darkest library I've ever seen-and the remodel made it even uglier and gloomier.
