They take decent school pictures, but somehow lost the picture file of my kid. School confirms the picture was taken and Donner says the photo wasn't taken due to circumstances beyond their control. Meanwhile the proof that came home showed the small photo proof with a message that the photo doesnt exist. I'm sure I'll get a refund, but I hate when people don't take ownership for their errors.
I already dislike this company in the first place. The backdrop is terrible and the photographers are anything but professional (they don t know anything about dance photography). When I go to buy the photos like I ve been doing for the last two years, all the care about is the sale and getting you to spend money quickly. How do 5 different costumes and all digitals cost 200, one costume cost 110 and two costumes cost 130? What a scam. The cherry on top is the lady being so careless that she charges my card 1380 instead of 138. I don t want to buy from this company ever again but it s the place my studio uses.
Disappointing to say the least. Two years in a row that my kid's school portrait looks like a joke. Last year, poor editing and white balance in the photo made my son look bluish green. This year, they picked the photo where he had only one eye open?! Other places let you pick from two to three photos, but only one shot and the photographer nor the editor noticed that there was something wrong with the shot? These are not professionals.
My daughter has picture day at her elementary. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with their background options. One of them being graffiti alley! Really? For a school portrait? What ever happened to the traditional library background or the sky blue background? What an insult to our children!
TERRIBLE!!!!!! I called because I simply received the incorrect pictures. Should be an easy fix but NO, the person I spoke to was RUDE and unwilling to rectify the situation. I cannot believe this place is even in business! For the money spent they could at least pretend to want to rectify a simple situation. Will NEVER do business with them again.

Quality photos. Good business. Friendly professional staff and photographers who specialize in dance and know how to photograph proper dance poses and showcase a dancer talent and skill. Great value especially compared to most photography studios that charge a sitting fee and more.
The photos of my daughter were lovely. I had an issue with the sales person on photo viewing/sales day which resulted in me be charged incorrectly. When emailed the office, they were extremely helpful and prompt. They got back to me immediately and quickly worked to resolve the issue. I was really impressed by the attentiveness of the staff working in customer service.
Beautiful pictures, horrible customer service. Sent pictures to wrong families... lots of promise of correcting the situation and no follow through. 2 weeks out and more than 1/2 my studio never received pictures or emails with codes for pictures. Spent a lot of time reexplainig issues to multiple people that said they would help. Owner claimed to come to studio Monday and I confirmed the previous Friday. Never a phone call Monday am to reschedule or to confirm. 3 weeks out from Recital and parents are not happy. Luckily we have another photographer to help redo pictures. Left my studio to massive exposure with many photos going to the wrong families. Many people of Donner I spoke to and no one seemed to be aware of my situation. So spent many hours self correcting on my own and speaking to many different people at Donner all of whom seemed to be unaware at both the depth of issue and how long it had been going on (despite 12 documented calls from just me alone to company in past 2 weeks and a dozen emails as well.) Never apology from owner.
My daughter took her school picture and we pay for the entire thing a total of $43 but when she received a picture it looked horrible. So my daughter took the retake and when we receive the picture we did not even get any of the photos that the $43 package had promised such a disappointment and will never take the school picture with donner ever again . Very disappointed I do not suggest this for anybody

I have two children and paid $30 for each photo package . instead I got them photographed together and only $30 worth of pictures . and to top it off you the background quality is so horrible you can't even tell what the background is . trying to get my kids school to switch to life touch because the photos aren't worth the money
My daughters dance studio uses Donner and I wish they wouldn t. First off the pictures are not high quality. I have been presented with blurry photos and even one where my daughters eyes were closed. The prices are insane and you are forced into buying the pics they printed before you can get any digital rights. The sales people are way too pushy but it s because of the price structure that has been given to them. I want dance pictures but I wish that Donner would re-evaluate their business and actually make the customer the priority instead of their own bottom line. After years of being forced to get the dance pictures from them they ve only gotten worse and less caring.
I am the Director of a new dance studio in Brooklyn. My first year, we used a freelancer that delivered poor quality photos and many complaints from the parents. I knew that could never happen again. I received a surprised visit from John, owner from Donner and he promised me an experience that I could not imagine. During our photo season, they sent an amazing photographer, Brian, who did the job effortlessly and flawlessly and the dance moms and dads at the studio absolutely adored him. Had a smooth photo taking experience! Due to my schedule, they returned two weeks later (although they could have your photos ready sooner than that) and Jason and the Donner staff took care of all the families with their excellent customer service! Not one complaint from anyone and everyone I ran into expressed how impressed they were with the quality of the photos. Their packages are affordable and you get so much within the packages. Also, you have the option to digitalize your photos and it to be electronically sent to you. No more scanning! There is no doubt about it. Donner photographic is amazing and in my opinion the best.
Awful just awful. The sales people employ bully tactics and flat out lie to try to sell higher priced packages. Unfortunately I deal with them yearly at my daughters dance recital. Every year it the same tactics. 1 star is to high a rating for this god awful company.
$116 for my daughters dance pictures. The package consisted of a group photo and four poses each with an 8x10 and 2-5x7s as well as the digital rights. I didn t even like two of the poses but if I didn t purchase those, I would have to buy the rights and the group photo separately bringing the price right back up. We all know dance pictures are expensive (even though this is a bit extreme) but what really ticks me off is the fact that I can t customize my package!!! The package they pretty much forced me buy doesn t include the quantity and sizes I need for family. Oh but I could buy extra sheets at an additional cost!! Um, no! And it seemed like they were going to print the extra sheets right there. So WHY can t I customize my $116 photo package??? The photo paper is medium quality at best too. I m going to be taking my daughter s dance photos from now on and I ll like them better.
I paid for my child's 2 individual packages online with explicit instructions on the background and expected to see a proof of their sibling photo to make a decision to purchase. I even called the company to make sure it was clear and was told it "should be." To double check, I went to my children's school on photo day to talk to the photographers. Yet, once photos came home, I had the sibling photo and my son's individuals - not my daughter's. Once I saw a proof of my daughter's photo, it was on the horrendous holiday background as opposed to the plain blue background I requested. I called to see if it could be edited and was told "it would be difficult and they may reject the request to Photoshop it." Instead of purchasing a photo package, I had to pay $25 for a digital copy which I, an amateur Photoshop user, must edit to get rid of the background I never wanted. If our school uses Donner again next year, I'll pass on the service.
I just got my daughter's Kindergarten picture back and was excited to see the package until I opened it. My child was standing behind a blue chair with extremely cracked lips with a light beaming off her forehead! I dont expect a make up artist, however, I do expect to get the pose my family and I chose and for the best angle a professional can achieve also a retouch of a badly cracked lip! I sent her to school nice and mosturized but that is 6am on the school bus. I will be getting a refund and take my child to a real studio.

Rude, pushy, offensive salesman at my daughter's dance recital today. Once I selected merely the group photos of their routines I was berated for the "wasted pictures" I didn't buy that would now be "trashed". When I told him he was making me feel terrible he then admonished me for the "all the hard work" the photographers put into the pictures. This, after over an hour wait in line to see the photos which they printed out without my request in the first place. Have never encountered such offensive "salesmanship". I would second the reviewer who suspects the positive reviews aren't legitimate.
0 stars. Very expensive you feel trapped going to buy the pictures at the studio. Not all the poses are great. Horrible experience the sellers are used car salesmen that use intimation tactics to sell you what they want you to buy out of a selection that is very poor. If the same company is used next year I will just get the group pictures which I have to pay for anyway. I would also like to say that all the people that gave these people 5 Stars were either working for the company or got payed by them.

Photo of my daughter for dance were good. Sales approach = flawed. Everyone stood in line @ recital to look at photos, rather than having them online to buy, or the rates listed in advance. They made you pick a number of photos, then verbally got the price from a sheet they did not show. Felt like buying a used car. Also no digital rights available after spending $50 on 5 photos. Get with the times.

I wish there was an option for no stars 0 ... this is the second year in a row that I paid for school photos at the Donner photograph studio. As a parent, you go out and spend tons of money for picture day alone. You buy the more expensive packages. Go out get your kids photoshop with the best outfits you can grab. Haircuts or hairdos. Then picture day comes and your child takes his or her pictures. Well, in my case for two years in a row when I got my pictures back the quality of the pictures were horrible. The picture was so something that you cannot see the background. The pictures do not look professional in any way. I called donner photo studios because The Advertiser satisfaction guarantee.. Needless to say after paying for 3 packages I was not satisfied. I spoke to a lady by the name of Christina. I explained to Christina that after spending tons of money preparing for picture day and spend the money on the actual pictures package for 3 children(full price) the quality was lousy and I was not satisfied at all. She told me she would look into the pictures and call me back the very next business day. She told me that I can reuse the outfits I use for the original picture day it's no big deal.. To me it was a very big deal... I never heard from the next business day. She then called me back after picture retake to tell me she can zoom out of the pictures. It was too late I already bought a new outfit for the retake... At this point I'm still unsatisfied. I went out bought outfits, new haircuts and hairdos for photo retake. My 7 year old son's package was missing the class picture which is another big reason why I buy pictures every single year. So that my son can look back later in life and see classmates and who he went to school with. The class picture wasn't taken at all. I would not recommend this company to any school or event. The school used to use Lifetouch Studios, which truly had a satisfaction guarantee policy. I have been advocating with the school to no longer use Donner photograph studio. I am waiting on the pictures from the retake to come back . I have my fingers crossed I AM PLEADING WITH MY children's SCHOOL TO Go BACK TO LIFETOUCH STUDIO. They are not perfect and I have had issues with pictures throughout the years. But their willingness to right a wrong outweighs any problem you may have. Even taken pictures of three kids in the same household or family donner photographs never offered a family plan for families with multiple children in the same school.
