Donellis Café Restaurant Review

The pizza was ok, the service ok, the place was ok.
It was ok.

Arrived at 2110 to order a pizza to be told it was closed (although it looked open) Website says it closes at 10pm.

Great pizza, but let down a bit by being under staffed. We visited on 4th Jan in the evening. Two waiting staff, one a trainer and one guy in the kitchen.

It was great to be out dining. However, 1/4 0f our pizzas was burnt, it was a child's one so we didn't notice until adults sampled the left overs. Overall the sauce on the pizzas appeared to be without herbs or garlic, I guess we should've read the menu more closely. The room was very cold. Otherwise, the other pizzas were good and the service excellent.

Reasonable price for what you get. Very nice service, almost couldn t believe it s real ; happy, friendly, happy.!

You can t go wrong with this one.
I personally tried two pizzas (was offered drink with or without ice) both of them were in my opinion tasty and worth recommending. Not really sure what to think about (presumably owners)kids hanging around unsupervised after 9pm on licensed premises, but hey Norwich is a place where everyone seem to be relaxed and happy. Noir Parmesan or oil were offered despite the fact they call themselves an Italian restaurant .
Nice warm goodbye and see you soon from lovely staff and I am off to review another place.

Good experience

Really good pizza! Thin and crispy, delicious dough. Baked in proper, traditional, wood fire oven. Nobody left the crust! My number 1 for pizza in Norwich

Very tasty Italian-style pizza (not the usual artery-clogging chain grease bomber). Venue is a bit small (as usual for Norwich) but the staff was very accommodating.

Just pizzas, and just traditional ones, but fine ingredients, great atmosphere and very reasonably priced.

Lovely little restaurant slightly off the beaten track in the city centre. Excellent pizzas at a very competitive price, large pizza and a soft drink for around a tenner! Friendly and chatty owner who only added to the pleasant experience we had when visiting. Would definitely recommend!

Shame, that's all I can say, a tasteless disappointing shame.

First time I ate here was a month after returning from Rome, and honestly felt like I was back there. Good selection of pizza's, truffle one is my personal favourite

We recently purchased a large order for delivery from Donellis and was amazed by their customer service and also the quality of the food. Have recommended to friends and family and I am sure we will be ordering again soon. Thank you Donellis.

Stumbled here by accident on a Sunday afternoon, very nice pizza with friendly staff. Nearly as good as the many pizzas I've had in Italy

Best pizzas since Italy. Excellent service and value for money. Throughly recommend visiting when in Norwich.

Classic Italian pizza house. Staff was very friendly and patient but the restaurant was a bit pack. We had a siena (tuna&black olives) and the taste of pizza is perfect. But the taste of cheese was too light. The pizza's crust was not even (some parts was very thin and crispy but some is quite thick as you can see at the photo below). A bit dissapointment. Other than that, everything is alright.

If you looking to treat yourself with an authentic Italian pizza in Norwich than this is probably the best place to do so. Plenty of choices from the menu and staff is friendly. Good deals during the week time.

Great wood fired pizza, relaxed and comfortable. Suit any age and affogato for dessert!

I've been going here every so often since I discovered it and unlike some places where the quality drops this place has not. Simply delicious pizzas.
They also have meal deals which are really good for work lunch times if you aren't too far away. Service has always been easily quick enough for my lunch hour.
I've also been for evening meals with larger groups and it has works amazing then as well and been able to try the starters and desserts.

Pizza was tiny and tasteless. hardly any cheese and the tomato sauce was so watery it poured off the pizza. I was still very hungry afterwards. Wine tasted sour and was served warm for some reason. The bathroom is situated practically in the kitchen. I m surprised it s so popular! The people of norwich must have very low standards.

Visited on a Monday lunch time, a few other diners where eating. Enough people for a nice atmosphere . Authentic pizzaria, friendly staff. Lunchtime menu very good value although we stuck with main menu and ordered two pizzas with two drinks - very reasonable cost. We will visit again.

Have been going to this restaurant for years and last 2 visits, 1 being yesterday, sadly have left disappointed! Service from the waitress was not good, did not clear the table after starters were finished or remove empty bottles, only cleared table when I asked for the bill. Sent a pizza back as it was swirling in liquid and was told it was because of the fresh mozzarella, really?! Attitude from the waitress when we left was very poor! Come on owner of Donnelli's, keep on eye on the service levels!

A perfect evening celebrating a birthday with family and friends. Donnelli's catered for 23 of us with excellent service and great pizza. No complaints!!

Lots of people told me it was one of the best in Norwich so I tried. I was very disappointed, the price is very expansive and you get a tiny pizza with literally no toppings on it. That was so little I could even see the dough through it. I literally paid 10 quid for bread covered in tomato sauce. When you make people pay so much you have to be generous in quantity. Was still hungry right after. Also I don t doubt quality of the ingredient is good but the overall taste was just average. I had better frozen pizza. Brick pizza remains the best pizza in Norwich.

Really good pizza and good value for money too. The wine options are limited but it's decent quality and is also good value. Impressed with this place and will definitely be back.

Had a lovely quick bite to eat when we were looking for a small dish at 8:30pm. We visited from Holland and this small living room restaurant is easy to miss, but we are happy we stopped by. Very nice people and great food.

If you haven't eaten here yet, you need to! Fantastic home made pizza and the garlic cheesy bread is to die for. It's a regular lunch stop for us!

The pizzas were amazing. We had chocolate tart and tiramisu for dessert. All in all, a delightful and scrumptious dinner.

Pizzas and calzones are amazing. The service was a bit slow, but nothing that could spoil the experience.
