Although Donatos is a little on the pricey side, you can ensure you are in good hands. Usman was so friendly and talented at what he does!! I haven't professionally cut my hair in years and he made me feel completely comfortable about returning to the chair. Love my new look thank you Usman!
My 15 year old stepdaughter was looking to make a dramatic change from long hair to an undercut. Our initial stylist we were booked with didn't feel capable in doing such a technical cut, but we luckily were able to move our appointment to Andrew!!!! I have to say, we are grateful it was!!
Andrew took his time and I was there to see his care and technical skills applied to my SD's hair. Not only that, he was amazing with her, making her feel absolutely comfortable. Not that it matters, but she is on the ASD spectrum and has high social anxiety, which is why I was there with her for her appointment and she felt so comfortable with him! She was so pleased with the results. I couldn't get her to stop smiling and that is a parents goal every day.
Andrew - thank you again for making her smile. Her dad actually teared up when she walked through the door looking so happy and "grown up" and I got to be the awesome stepmom.
George knew EXACTLY what I wanted and made it even better. Never ever had an issue coming to Donato, and I think I found my forever salon. Completely clean, the staff is super super kind, and know exactly what they are doing. Even when I was on my phone (sorry for the tears George!) They had no problem keeping it professional, but friendly.
Definitely going back. I've never been so pleased with a hairstyle.
I go here because the service I get from Helen for cuts and Lynn for colour is amazing. We have become friends. However, the costs set by the salon are becoming an issue. I may have to go elsewhere soon. Only reason why I stay is for them.
While the haircut was perfection, the hair coloring was an absolute disaster. I asked for an ombre, showed my colorist a picture. My hair was instead done balayage, which I didn't know as I was told to keep my head down so she could work. I've attached pictures of the ombre I had shown her, versus what was done to my hair. I'm not upset about the color, I'm upset about the complete wrong style done. Balayage is not ombre.
I couldn't see that my hair was incorrectly done as it was still wet when I left the store (as per covid no blow drying policy), as such I didn't complain. Upon drying it at home I can see how drastically incorrect it is.
I understand mistakes happen. I've been a long time customer of Donato's. I've called in and emailed them, but Donato has made no effort to try and remediate or credit me.
Last month I had the pleasure of going to Donato's for the first time at Square One shopping centre. I've never been to a salon as big as Donato's, and the place was very clean.
I was looking for a (much needed) hair trim and a subtle hair dye. I was referred to Yau (hair colourist) and Jennifer (hair trim). This was my first time getting my hair dyed at a salon, so Yau explained everything to me, the processes and what was to be done. It was going to be a longer process due to my long hair and the bleach/colouring aspect. In between the process, Yau also explained the different shampoos/conditioners to use and which to avoid, as well as the care of dyed hair. She was very professional with her technique and very informative throughout the entire process. I appreciated it as I did not know how to take of dyed hair.
After the dye, I went to Jennifer for the hair trim. Loved the result as well. Jennifer took her time and was also very professional and wonderful.
I went for a red dye hidden underneath the hair; the aim was to look subtle yet ready for a party mode.
I thank Yau for spending so much time on my hair (literally the entire day!). It requires a lot of patience and attention to detail so I appreciate all the time that Yau had spent with me. Thank you!
I have gotten many compliments from family, friends and coworkers and have recommended them to Donato salon as some had inquired. I would definitely go back for a refresh in the future and am very happy with the result. Enjoy the photos!
Had an appointment this afternoon with Andrew.
The space was very spacious and clean. Hand sanitizer at the entrance and social distancing signs/ directional arrows on the floor.
Andrew was amazing. He asked me all the right questions to ensure I left with what I wanted. Checked in with me regularly while I was in the chair. Super gentle with his work. He was very meticulous and precise with the cut - couldn't have asked for a better stylist!
I'm so happy with my haircut and how he styled it after. I'll definitely be returning.
Today I had my hair coloured and highlighted by Amber, she did absolutely amazing - my natural colour is dark brown and I am now ash blonde. Osman cut and styled my hair and WOW I am so pleased! He gave my very fine hair lots of layers and gave me so much volume. Over all great experience, 10/10. Thank you Amber and Osman for making me feel beautiful
I am absolutely happy with my hair cut. LEO did an awesome job. I am very picky when it comes to my hair. My hair is wavy and with proper cut it is absolutely gorgeous. I was hesitant at first because it is 4x as much as i would normally pay, but it is worth it. With the pandemic and all the craziness that is going around why not treat myself. Thanks so much for my haircut Leo!
Andrew did a phenomenal job. I have gone to several hairstylists over the years and I have never been this ecstatic. Not only did he listen to my concerns, but he recommended ideas that I would not have thought of. That being said, as we went through with the cut he went step by step and confirmed what he would be doing. I have never had this 5-star experience in a very long time and I left feeling so confident and satisfied with my new cut!
