Can t say enough good things about Dog Tag! Catering was delivered exactly as ordered AND even a few minutes ahead of schedule! The staff members are so kind and professional, and the sandwich platters were delicious.
The most fabulous thyme biscuits! And they have a wonderful mission in supporting military families with entrepreneurship focused training.
Came here for a respite on a Friday morning with some colleagues. It has a great atmosphere. We didn't stay, but it definitely felt like a nice place to come back and work or quietly chit chat. Cool mission.

What a nice little quaint spot. Nice staff and selection of snacks. I had just a snicker doodle and it was great. Freshly made probably so that was a plus. Great spot to come and study or be a living cliche and write a screenplay.
I was cafe hunting back in April while I was in DC and actually found it via Yelp and I was happy about my experience. The staff was friendly and helped me navigate through my options and what was their best sellers in the shop.
I also love the mission of this cafe, anything for a good cause is a Win in my book.

Very unprofessional service! It was my first time visiting this bakery. I wanted a couple cake slices to go. Everything looked delicious but my server couldn t carry out the simple task of making a box of 5 cake slices for me. Firstly, she wasn t wearing any gloves while preparing my order. Secondly, she was trying to dodge the slices in the box and ended up dropping and touching two of the slices which were then a waste. I had to choose two other flavours that I wasn t keen on getting to add to my order. These are the basics of serving any food and a server must know them. Now the slices in my box are flipped and it looks so tacky. This was a house warming dessert dish for a friends dinner. Very very disappointed! Will not be visiting again.
Cute little bakery with excellent desserts. The front of a bakery that helps train wounded vets business skills. They should fix the front door though as it opens anytime anyone outside walks by, which is a lot.
Extremely delicious sandwiches and drinks (the baked goods look great too, but I haven't tried any yet), for an incredible cause (training veterans how to run a business). If you're looking for a quick bite/drink/coffee while you're in Georgetown, check this place out. Good to work at too - free WiFi (get a 1 hour code from the cashier) and outlets!

Five stars! How could you give it any less? Of course we had to check it out while playing local tourist. Because we had already had brunch at Martin's Tavern, strudel at Kafe Leopold, we opted to take home a couple of delicious cookies for later. There are a. couple of unique features here that I won't spoil with pictures. Support our veterans with a stop at Dog Tag Bakery.
I caught wind of this bakery through a good friend, and made sure to stop by when passing through DC. Wonderful mission, warm environment with great people, and don't even get me started on the coconut macaroons! Also, their sandwiches are delicious. A great Georgetown spot - support a just cause while enjoying the highest quality food and drink.
Great ambiance, food, and service, but $10.25 for a roast beef sandwich is just too steep to make me hesitate to recommend it to my friends or return to this place myself ...

As the bame suggests, this is a place focusing on the role of the US Army. If you want to support the military in some sense then go here - their political orientation is not obvious so you could miss it.
I Love Dog Tag Bakery. They have a wide variety of unique desserts from around the world. Always something new to try. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. I always make time to stop by when visiting the area.Everybody at this place is so cheerful and lively.

Besides being a cafe with a wonderful mission, Dog Tag Bakery is actually a nice cafe tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Georgetown in one of its side streets.
Whenever I have an extra half hour or so in the mornings, I like to pop in for a muffin and drink. The employees are super friendly and the food and drinks are solid. There s WiFi, plenty of comfy seating, and is a nice place to get some work done.
Just across the street from where my son has band practice so we spend a lot of time here. I am never disappointed.

The hot chocolate is the best I've ever had. The staff here has always been friendly to me and the place is cute. If you can get a seat it's also a good place to do some work. My rating is only missing a star because it's so small.

Great coffee, espresso-based. We had a croissant and it was as good as it gets. Few seats dominated by people with computers, so we took our order to go and went to the river and enjoyed the nice winter day. There was a bit of a line but the service was good. The lady ordering before us was incredibly hateful and the staff there handled it with grace.
I live in southern New Jersey. My niece came up here to visit and brought oatmeal raisin, sugar, and snickerdoodle cookies. OMG!! These are literally the best cookies I've ever tasted! I promise next time I'm in town, I will be stopping by to taste other things you all have to offer!
I work across the street from Dog Tag, and it's always my favorite go-to for something sweet. No matter what I've ordered, the food is consistently delicious and the employees are very friendly. On my first visit, they even gave me a tour of the bakery and classroom area. It definitely doesn't hurt to know that my dessert is helping train veterans with marketable job skills. I love it!

Great coffee and the chocolate chip cookies are a must have - they are loaded with chocolate chips!! Fantastic friendly service was icing on the cake :) Really appreciated the freshly brewed coffee made for us at 5pm! Next time will go with more of an appetite, the sandwiches looked yummy too.
Simply amazing place. The concept and history is awesome, but even more so is the food and drinks. The cakes are sublime and always interesting. Don't miss the fig cheesecake. You can't go wrong with any choices here and the staff are always helpful and friendly. Such a great place!

Really tasty sandwiches and baked goods. The sandwich menu is limited, but they carry a range of desserts, teas, and coffees. The staff is great and knowledgeable. I love that they also help support vertans and military families. What a great cause and a great bakery.

Everything was mediocre. We ordered a chocolate zucchini cake, cinnamon roll, mocha and spiced chai tea. Everything tasted old. Cake and roll were hard. Drinks were sad, the tea just tasted like strange off hot water. Also, the employee just didn t seem like they wanted to be there. We asked them what the visitor favorites were to try and all they did was list everything we could see.... first and last time at this place

Dog Tag Bakery is amazing! Their pastries and hot beverages are all delicious, and your purchase supports a great cause. Dog Tag runs a 5-month fellowship program for transitioning service-disabled veterans, caregivers, and military spouse, and the bakery functions as a living business school for their fellows to learn how to run a small business. So cool! The fact that their coffee, scones, and sandwiches are also drop-dead delicious is just a cherry on top
Very good bakery! The food tastes amazing would recommend to anyone who wants a coffee and a breakfast sand which. Only reason it s not a 5 is because the sitting area seems very random. There s no real style to it. It s just many different types of tables scattered. I attached a picture of my breakfast sandwhich. Which was incredible. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a quick breakfast!!!
I came in to get a coffee before work and (Gerardo one of the employees) convinced me to try one of their fresh pastries. It was delicious. I will definitely be going back
I love this bakery! Providing opportunities for ex-vets, this bakery offers lunch specials and housemade pastries and breads. I am a fan of their small cranberry mini loaves and other sweets. The staff here are friendly, and there's a nice little cafe set-up where you can enjoy your food. Limited metered-parking up along Grace St.
Freaking love Dog Tag. Their biscuits are utterly beyond compare. They are sweet and crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Very sweet place.
Very clean establishment with excellent pastries and baked goods and a pleasant staff. They should change the sensor on the front door since it opens every time someone walks past the establishment. The loss of environment whenever that door opens unnecessarily is wasteful and annoying.

Dog tag is a good place to go with friend and family. The cakes and coffees are wonderfully prepared. The internal space is a little short, but is is ok. Always have free tables. I really recommend that place.
Fun vibe for sure! The biscuits/scones are some of the best I've ever had. The thyme honey & Pumpkin chai are enough to go back again and again. Also the staff was extremely friendly and happy! Place was clean too.
If I could give it zero stars I would. We ordered 4 items and had to pour out our chais for being undrinkable. The bakery items were extremely subpar and we received dirty plastic utensils to go home with. This bakery is not worth your time.
Went on a tour around Georgetown today! The last stop on the tour...Dog Tag Bakery! Awesome place to visit! Enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie! DOG tags hanging from the ceiling, DOG TAG machine and the message of assisting our veterans...go check it out!
Great menu and wonderful mission. The dog tag chandelier is really cool, and prices are very reasonable.
As one side note, this is not a great remote work location. They have wifi passwords for 30 minute (non-rate limited!) sessions, which isn't time to do much work. This is totally ok of course -- come here instead for engaging conversation, tasty baked goods and to support an awesome business!

Really nice, comfortable, & cool place! I had a vanilla rice pudding and it was sooo tasty! I also had ginger tea which was great as well. The mission is honourable; I think the fact that Obama visited here before proves this one of my favourite cafes in DC so far!

What an awesome find! It is right next to Patagonia in Georgetown and the staff and the food couldn't be better. Who needs Starbucks when you can come to an awesome place like this! The scones and muffins are fantastic as well as their other baked goods. Check them out!
