Regardless of whether you like the food here or no...

Regardless of whether you like the food here or not, one thing cannot be denied... this place is dirty. When you walk in look around on the floor, near the windows, tables... it's all absolutely filthy. The condiment bottles on the tables are obviously never wiped down, they're covered in BBQ sauce and goo from previous customers which is just disgusting. In looking at the floor you can tell they only sweep the easy areas, nothing is ever moved and actually cleaned. There was so much crud along the window sill it was disgusting. I used the restroom and was grossed out. It obviously is not cleaned daily, or even monthly for that matter. There wasn't even soap or paper towel in there. If the visible areas of the restaurant are this dirty, imagine what the food prep area looks like. Actually, you can see into the kitchen when ordering your food, prepare to be less than impressed.

The cleanliness of this place alone makes me dislike their food. There is obviously no pride in the restaurant and it shows in their food. I love BBQ, I know good BBQ and Doc and Eddie's isn't it. I've literally had better ribs from Famous Dave's. I took home half my rack and fed it to my dog. The sides that come with a rack platter are tiny, especially for the $30 price tag. The BBQ baked beans tasted like they came from a can and had no meat in them. The fries are sub-par pre-packaged fried garden variety. I didn't care for the sauces they offer either, perhaps that is my personal taste however no BBQ judge would ever give their customer-served ribs a respectable score.

I think this place is having some personnel issues, it showed based on some of the things the waitress said to me while I was eating there. I have no doubt they could cook a good rack of ribs with the equipment they have, however the cook who prepared mine obviously didn't care about his job.

I would stay away from this place until they thoroughly clean it, and continue to do so nightly, and hire staff who take pride in what they're serving. There's far better BBQ joints around town.

Pricing is ridiculous for the horrible food they sell to their customers. I got 3 meat combo, and a pull pork sandwich, with cornbread, potato salad, BBQ beans, and corn fritters. Everything was cold besides the turkey and the corn fritters.

Corn Fritters were amazing, but I only got about six for my side. Turkey was bland and did taste much of anything. As the rest of the reviews said I could not also find a smoke ring on any of my meat even the end pieces which tells me there was not enough wood in the fire. BBQ beans were okay, everything else was cold and sucked. The pulled pork was the worse and was inedible I ended up throwing almost 18 oz away.

Pricing is outrageous, I thank God I didn't purchase the brisket as it was 25 dollars a pound. For four pounds you could purchase a 50 lb brisket and have 20 lbs left after trimming.

Needless to say I wont be a returning customer, between the 32 bucks I spent and having to throw away or re-heat half my food is a no go for me. Please keep in mind the food was already cold upon leaving the establishment as I live less than 1 mile away from the place, it takes me less than 4 mins to drive home. The food should have been piping hot or at least warm to the touch not dead cold.

We loved this place when they first opened. It was great BBQ right around the corner from home. The last few years we have seen a steady decline. The prices definitely got considerably higher while the food got worse. It seems like they are cutting a lot of corners these days and unfortunately the food is suffering.

Best BBQ in Omaha. Ribs are huge and well smoked. Turkey is great, especially with the pineapple sauce. Super reliable catering. Had a friend use them for their rehearsal dinner and the bride was stressed about everything except the food because the owner was the woman helping her so she knew it would be done right.

Pricing:

Pricing:
Pricing is too high for the quantity of food given. I purchased the Brisket combo (smaller, not Jumbo), and I can't justify paying that much money for such a small amount of food.

I got a brisket sandwich (wasn't piled high), a few corn fritters, and a pickle, along with a drink.

Quality of Food:
I asked a few questions of the staff (who were friendly). They stated that they smoke their meat with hickory wood, but when I opened the box, the brisket was unappealing.

The color was off and the meat was very dry. It had a light hickory smoke taste to it, but no smoke ring which is indicative of smoked meat. It tasted more as if it had been oven smoked, not smoked in an industrial smoker with the correct amount of wood. The corn fritters were delicious, however I would have liked to have more in the box.

Cleanliness of Restaurant:
The restaurant was very clean, but there was hardly anyone in the place for lunch, which I should have found odd.

Overall, I have to give it a one star because of the price and taste of the food.

I took my family to Doc and Eddie and my son found glass in his bake beans. I told the cashier that there was glass in my sons food, and showed him the glass. The cashier told me that one of their cooks was "pissy" and started throwing things around and they had to send him home earlier that day. He said that is probably how the glass got in the food.

The cashier did not offer to do anything about the situation and I am not sure he even threw the beans out or check the other food because I left the restaurant. However, he did not offer to refund us and acted as if this is not a serious situation.

I am glad that my son did not ingest the glass, but i am sure that was not the only piece of glass in the beans. DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY HERE

I have been going to Doc & Eddies for over 6 years now and i have never had a bad experience there. All the people they have working there are always very nice and very knowledgeable about everything. I know that there couldn't have been any glass in the food because they do not have ANYTHING glass in their kitchen. The manager Lynette is super nice and if you do a catering there she will do anything to make sure your experience goes exactly how you would want it to. To me the pricing is exactly how I would expect it to be with how high meat prices are. I mean have you looked at how the price of meat is in the store it is outrageous!! You definitely need to try Doc & Eddies sometime because you will not be disappointed!!! :)
