Good friendly pub food good. drinks reasonably priced.
We were there for nearly two hours , one meal was wrong and everyone else had finished by the time it came. The under fives pasta shapes in sauce was basically coloured water not turkey bolognese at all. We eventually decided to leave as we had waited so long and the kids were fed up. We were refunded for the child's meal on the way out. I spoke to the manager who did apologise for the wait and the food.
this pub has been my regular for nearly 40 years so it is a part of the community. the food is basic pub grub. unfortunately as part of a chain it loses identity and would be a great home made food pub.
Nice outdoor eating area secluded from traffic noise. Lots if parking space. Good selection of drinks.
Great food, friendly service and very reasonable prices. What more could you ask for?
I had a lovely meal of a pub classic steak and chips. The portions are fair in size and decent food quality. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The car parking scenario is a bit wired, give your reg at the bar! otherwise a pleasant time in nice surroundings. I will visit here again.
We had to wait 1&half hours for our food and waiting at bar to order our drinks and the bar staff came to me then went to someone else who came after me and my sweet potatoes were just warm from Paul walton
Good local pub. Beer selection extensive and ever changing. Monday and Tuesday are discount days.
Food OK pub fare. Nothing special.
Atmosphere spoilt by large screen T.V.s best to try and find a corner that you can avoid their presence.
Outside and garden, very popular in spring / summer.
Close to regular bus route (88/83), also large on site car park.
This place is not what it was shame can't believe the carparking they don't deserve any customers
Disgusting with bad service . I complained about the food cold and just got laughed at . Never going there again
Steak was very chewy, we told the waitress, she just said I'll let the chef know. We were sat a further 10-15 minutes and no one bothered to say anything to us.
Really good value, a good menu and friendly staff. It's good for kids on the whole, but the garden leads on to the car park. That doesn't stop us regularly visiting though
Nice local. Warm cosy and comfy.
Cheap good beer and ale.
I like the snug, nice and cosy with an open fire and a decent amount of tables. Good selection of food with a fair selection of vegetarian options (although there could always be more veggie food). Staff are friendly and efficient and the food arrived quickly. Not at all keen on the larger section with the multiple screens all playing football, very loud and crowded at certain times and a bit stressful, would much prefer it if the whole pub was like the snug.
Lovely pub with a great team. The Manager is great despite being a Wednesday fan
Went to see the Loxley Silver Band and sing Christmas carols. A very friendly pub. The staff were excellent. There's a good range of beers. The food is standard pub grub.
What a waste Tuesday lunch time absolutely no idea waited 1 hour 10 minutes told twice it was coming people in after us got served before us lad serving had a smirk on his face, three customs ask for money back as we did, no apology rubbish crossed of our list
Nice local pub reasonable choice of meals and drinks
Excellent pub for watching sport, great atmosphere and very friendly staff.
rubbish. Don't put menus out when two of the five dishes we ordered were out of stock. Pie short on meat and the chicken was dry. Not good at all
Another great afternoon meal, this place never fails. Staff are polite friendly and ever helpful. Meals are great well cooked very good portions and excellent quality. One of the first places we think off when we want a good meal out.
Nice little pub, make sure you don't get a parking ticket
We were a party of 5 adults and 3 toddlers. They were happy to let us push tables together. They had more than enough high chairs. There was plenty of good food including a wide enough selection of vegetarian. It was late lunch time so the fish fingers for the toddlers were over cooked. But we had a great time.
Ordered food at 1805. Still not out at 1850! Needed to be somewhere else at 1900 so I had to leave. I know they're busy but maybe tell me that there is a long wait for food when I order. What a waste.
from meeting up with friends to celebrating occasions with family, the hammer & pincers is a great place to go. The staff are extremely friendly and are happy to help. There's plenty to choose from on the menu and a great range of real ales. The food is always fresh and fast, but more importantly tastes great. I will definitely be visiting again and again. Thank you team hammer
Good experience, went on a week day evening and was much atmosphere
Great pub, good atmosphere, friendly staff, Marie has an amazing work ethic and never stops!! Ben is hard working, welcoming with good knowledgeable unstanding of all the produce. Brill little pub worth a visit
Can get busy when the football is on and at meal times. Has a good selection of real ales though so I can recommend a visit
I used to love this place but it had gone down hill recently
Not a bad pub but the parking arrangements are weird .
One of the best pubs in Sheffield, greeted by very friendly staff, offers outdoor space for eating and drinking and space for the kids to play. I had the mixed grill and it was fantastic. Would definitely recommend!
Ridiculous parking and way too many signs. Inside is filthy. Intended to eat but having seen the state of the place there's no chance
Love this pub. Nice friendly local. Food looks good but never eaten there. Pub quiz on a tuesday is good.
Be careful to enter your car reg inside the pub when parking! We received a parking ticket (which we disputed and the pub rescinded) - but take note!
Solid friendly neighborhood pub with decent inexpensive food.
Good food, very good choice of drinks and relaxing atmosphere.
Loved the food, we had to wait a little while for our food but was worth the wait and we had plenty of time to wait. The customer service was brilliant thank you
Gammon steak is exquisite with flat mushroom and roasted pineapple my favourite!
Warm and welcoming. Lovely atmosphere. Only disappointment was that there were three food choices we wanted which were not available. Two vegan starters and one dessert from the normal menu. Overall this would not dissuade from returning.
Very busy when we went due to football on TV. Fortunately hsf reserved s table. The food was excellent but slow service
Went in here with some friends from uni and had a massive sunday feast and a few beers. Couldn't fault the place to be honest. Nice food at a good price and right on the doorstep of Derbyshire so not far to come back there from going climbing. Also a very friendly place!
Extensive and variable menu. Good prices. Sadly a mistake was made so there was a long wait. The resulting meal was worth waiting for and the complimentary drinks helped. Thankyou. We live in Cornwall so wont be visiting the homeland for a while. But will be back sometime!
Live locally so came in for a meal, decided on the scampi and chips which was nice but was more of a child's portion to be fair.
Great food, good portions and polite service. My companion was pleased with the veggie options.
Good beer garden, just out the way of the hustle and bustle of the peaks.
The pub was lovely but the food could of been better.
We were served hot fresh food in a reasonable time and plenty of choice
First time we been in here in 3 years. As it was my wife and ours anniversary we though we go have some dinner here. We used to come regularly but since we had children we don't get the opportunity to go out much.
Having come in at approximately 12.35pm I placed my order at the bar 12.43 pm we didn't receive or food till 1.25pm we was the second party in the pub to order. The food that came out was not amazing at all the kids chicken nuggets was well done crispy was a understatement. My youngest couldn't eat them. I ordered triple hunters sounded amazing but same again the chicken was over cooked and crisp. My wife had southern fried chicken burger same again. I wouldn't expect this to happen on a quiet period. At all and to take this long in cooking. God help you when you are busy. A old couple came in and ordered there food and there's was out in 15 min. What had we done wrong finally When I ordered at the bar the original order I ordered my children's dessert two kids make there own sundae. So me and my wife thought we have a dessert I went to the bar and ordered a oreo sundae and apple pie and custard. Along with two drinks and paid. When the dessert came out only the apple pie and custard came out. I asked where are the sundaes. The girls said they had forgot to send them to kitchen. They would get them sent out when ready my wife didnt want to eat. While we waited so she sent hers back to stay warm. when they arrived back with the sundaes. My oreo sundae never came. I asked where was mine she said she that I never ordered it. Which Is wrong they said they must have not heard. They asked if I wanted to order one. I said what's the point as my family was half way through there desserts. There was no manager about to deal with complaints. I'm a bars manager myself I would never leave any member of my staff alone if they can't authorised. Or deal with a issue especially when both of the girls on had only been in the place of work for 3 weeks. Poor management is a understatement. This place looks good and is nice but run poor. The two girls working did there best to deal with the issues. Hammer and pincers don't deserve them.
Moonshine good, staff very good, food mediocre, outside area is a biohazard!
Excellent local pub. Good range of
drinks and good basic good.
