Omfg! These guys make the best everything, with best smiles, best service and are happy to just have a chat if it's quiet!
The bread bowls are amazing... I made my own breakfast and I wanted to die afterwards because I was so full and happy that at least I'd die on top!
I will definitely return!
Sebastian is sweet as pie! Just the nicest man

Absolutely amazing creamy chicken and mushroom pie at a great price ($16.90). And it wasn't a pot pie like most restaurants do, but a proper pie that can hold it's own. With the added sweet potato chips and salad, plus a beer for only $4 extra, I was bursting at the end.

I will definitely be visiting again.

I bought a groupon for Dip In, but if I lived in Melbourne I would gladly become a regular at full price!

Dip In serve most of their meals in a house baked bread bowl. I opted for the Mushroom Madness (pictures attached) "Spinach and cream cheese dip with two poached eggs, halloumi cheese and a medley of marinated mushrooms."

It was freaking delicious! The bread bowl was very fresh and crisp, and everything inside was cooked to perfection. I want these guys to teach me how to make such a perfect poached egg!

From the menu description I was a little uncertain about the addition of the halloumi, but it was an absolutely magical touch - the salty cheese just went perfectly with the other ingredients.

Oh, and did I mention they make their juices fresh to order? Also delicious!

I'm only in Melbourne for 5 nights, and I usually have all my meals at different places so as to try as many things as possible, but I may need to break that rule on this trip and return here on the weekend :D

The staff were also friendly and cheerful. As I ate I saw many business types coming in for takeaways, and it was obvious that they were all regulars. I would be too if I lived here!

Just enjoyed the most beautiful breakfast here. We opted to build our own breakfast bowl and it was just devine. Healthy, tasty and fresh food at its finest. Service was friendly and faultless. Must try the Chai latte if you dine here, just finished my second!

Exceptional food & coffee.

Exceptional food & coffee.
Only reasons for not giving 5 stars:
- breads can be over baked sometimes (slightly burnt)
- overpriced
- not pram friendly

Came here with my partner to try their "lunch in a bread bowl." My partner had the mushroom manners and I had the Dip in the Atlantic which had a lovely soft bread roll stuffed full of scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and side salads... we both agree, was the best thing we've ever eaten in Melbourne!
I'd recommend getting the hollandaise sauce if you have the Dip in the Atlantic dish, delicious.

Must come here!

Quick service, very (not overly) friendly staff and a good, healthy lunch!

We've already decided to come back here again tomorrow with friends!

Extremely friendly owners and the best food I have tasted in Melbourne CBD in a very long while. Food tastes like my mum or grandma had made it, full of flavour and made with love! For those working in the city and want some real food that is not expensive please go visit Dip In.

Chips crunchy outside & fluffy inside, the bread used for the bread bowls is crunchy and slightly sweet, recommend the beetroot dip with the "in between dips burger" to avoid dryness. Previously had mom's schnitzel - super flattened and super crunchy... Amazing

My wife and I absolutely adore this cafe and it is our favourite place to eat in the CBD. The coffee is excellent and the food even more so! We're appreciative of the wide range of vegetarian and vegan-friendly options provided and every meal we've had here has been thoroughly satisfying. Favourite dish: Make Hummus Not War (Veg) + House-made Hash Browns + Tahini Dip = Awesome-ness!!

1. Excellent food and service. Huge interior space and relaxing atmosphere. A must. Chips that came with the burger were to die for and the mushroom dip was amazing.
2. Came for breakfast and it was even better. My partner and i got the omlettes with different sides. You must have the hollandaise dip - as it is to die for! My only critique would be the coffee needs to be hotter. Otherwise, the owners are so very lovely and it is one of the best places I've eaten - in the world.
