I had a last minute appointment with Sinai for a keratin treatment and cut, and girl did some serious work! I had the best time chatting with her and being pampered with wine, and she even offered to have someone run nextdoor to grab some grub for me. Most importantly, she helped me figure out how to tame my hair and got me back on track for growing out healthier locks. I love my cut and the keratin treatment results, and I am definitely looking forward to seeing her again!

KERI IS AMAZING if I could give her 10 stars I would. She gave life back to my very long hair after I did not have it trimmed for over a year. I told her I loved my length and did not want to cut much.(even though I know I should so that it is completely healthy) she respected my request and gave me a quick trim. I love it and I love her! I highly recommend!

DON'T DO IT! My girlfriend went here recently to try out a new salon, assuming the higher prices would mean greater quality work. She also liked the pictures they posted on their Instagram and settled on a specific photo she saw them post (picture attached for reference), and even went with the same stylist who posted it (Amanda). Needless to say, the end result was not even close to the original picture. It's not even on the same portion of the color spectrum! I understand that everyone's hair is different, and not all styles or colors are possible with specific hair types or colors. A good salon should be able to identify that, and not take on a job they cannot deliver on. For $400, you expect quality. Unfortunately, that is not something you can expect at Diesel Salon. I sincerely implore you to look elsewhere.

After growing my hair until I couldn't stand it, I was able to get a walk-in appointment. Luckily for me, instead of heading home, Sina stayed to give me an amazing haircut. My hair looks amazing and she was able to save most of the length and gave me advice on how to keep my hair looking good. The staff, even at the end of the day on a Saturday, were professional and pleasant. I am looking forward to my next visit!

I'm new to the Bay Area, and read reviews on Yelp to help me pick out my new salon. I had Lonnie as my stylist, and he did amazing things with my hair! He's an excellent listener but also very intuitive. Hands down the best and most knowledgeable stylist I've ever seen. Definitely will be back!

Stylist is a perfectionist and was able to get the look I wanted and her assistant did a great job accommodating all my needs and was very attentive. I was today the second time. The first time they did a good job. Today not. I suppose to have highlights and lowlights, but it's all one color, so I came back. They sliced my hair. It will look ok for one month, will totally brake my hair, and will be a pain for my next hair dresser, but that won't be the problem from this salon, because I definitely won't come back. My hair is broken, and still not close to what I want. :-( Please don't do this to your hair!!!

Administration is quick to communicate, and stylists are skilled and attentive. Been with Bri twice; her energy and attitude will keep me coming back!

Well, Leslie has been cutting & styling my hair for close to 15 (yes, FIFTEEN!) years now! I can't even explain how lucky & grateful I feel for crossing paths with this amazing lady! I followed to every salon she ever worked. My hair is pretty thin and fine texture, but I know that I can always trust Leslie for making it look sexy. My style has changed so much over the years, from long and layered romantic waves to shorter and edgier styles to super precise razor sharp bob, Leslie always listens and nails it every single time!

I decided to go to Diesel salon at Adams because I read a lot of good reviews, but I had a terrible hair cut there. I told the hair dresser that the short layers were not appropriate for my semi curly hair, however, she did short layers all over my head and cut asymmetric. One side very long and the other shorter. To cover the terrible hair cut she did, at the end she used the hot iron. Leaving the place, one customer told me that the best hair dressers charge $80.00. So if you expect to have a good hair cut paying $60.00, be prepare to have a terrible hair cut. If you value your hair, please go to another place.

I have been getting my hair cut here for years (at least 5) and Melissa V (formerly Melissa H) has never done me wrong. She listens to what I want and gives her advice when I ask for it. No matter how slammed her schedule may be, she never rushes at the expense of doing a great job. I am always pleased with the results and the overall experience at Diesal Salon has always been great. I look forward to every appointment here.
They offer complimentary beverage refreshments when you arrive and there is always a jar of licorice on the reception desk. They shampoo and styling chairs are comfortable and the facilities are always well maintained. They aren't pushy about selling products and they have a rewards program which lets you earn points based on how much you have spent there. Points can be applied toward future services or products. That said, they are not cheap. When I first started coming here I was paying $60/haircut, but as my stylist gained experience, her rate went up and I now pay $80/haircut. I admit, that is painful, especially after tip or when I get ballayage. However, sometimes you get what you pay for. I figure other professions give you pay increases for more experience. Why shouldn't a hairstylist receive the same? What they do takes talent, skill, practice, and a lot of hard work. If I ever get to where I can't afford it, I suppose I will have to settle for the risk of trying someone with less experience. But for now, I am grateful not to have to worry about how my hair will turn out every time I go to get it cut. I guess you could say, I am able and willing to pay a little more for peace of mind.

Let me start out with....Melissa G. Rocks!!!! It was my first appointment with her, not only did she listen to me, she heard me! She asked questions and delivered. I couldn't be happier with my color, cut and blow out! Everyone was warm and friendly and professional. You definitely get what you pay for, it's worth it.

Had a great experience with Jasmine. She listened to all my requests and was very reasonable priced. She did a great job with my alternative hair color needs and undercut.

This salon is TERRIBLE. Today I went in for a consultation to get extensions with Melissa and in confidentiality told her that I felt like my current hairdresser was ripping me off. Less then a hour later I received a call from my hairdresser confronting me on the situation. I called the Diesel to ask them who broke the confidentiality and received no call back when I was promised one from Alysa. I then proceeded to call the salon back and Sonja was rude, unhelpful and had the nerve to say I disrespected her when I asked her to assist in the situation.

Not only is this salon unprofessional, they broke confidentiality and did not own up to the situation. I would HIGHLY recommend not using this salon and they need to consider hiring professional front desk folks and professional stylist.

I have many reasons as to why I personally would avoid coming here

1. For a balayage and a hair cut it cost $440!!!

2. ONE hour before my appointment I was notified that it needed to rescheduled (after I had already started driving there) johnny offered a free hair mask to make up for it - never received it

3. During my appointment, johnny left multiple times for an extended amount of time for no apparent reason. (At one point I laid with just wet hair in the sink while he went to get toner - he came back 10+ minutes later)

4. I asked for a balayage - You can see from the pictures that, that is NOT what I had received

5. I initially left the appointment happy with my newly curled/styled hair but a couple days after, I straightened it and noticed the tiger striped highlights. After several attempts to get ahold of Johnny, I informed him that I was unhappy with my hair - after a small debate with him about what a balayage is and how that is what he did, he offered to fix it a WEEK later.

6. After many attempts, I finally got a hold of the manager who informed me that what I had received was indeed a balayage (Ive been getting balayage's for 3+ years...I've never had it look like that) and from the same picture above, she thought that Johnny had done a good job(Not your head - not your opinion). She offered to do a shadow root to blend it but I informed her that I was unhappy with the overall experience and at this point felt very uncomfortable with coming back in and that I would just like a PARTIAL refund so that I could just go have it fixed somewhere else. After going in circles with her and legit arguing with her - she told me that they do not offer any refunds. They would only offer to fix it because "they cannot take back the time or the products used during my appointment". But if I come back in, I am using more of their time and products anyways...I'm sure any customers can relate where it is awkward to speak up and sometimes you don't want to go back because it's uncomfortable (especially after having heated conversations with staff).
If you didn't get the service that you requested, you shouldn't have to pay for it or be forced to go back to their salon to get it fixed.

The end result was that I received mediocre chunky highlights, the rest of my hair doesn't even look touched, and I'm out a whopping $440. Hope this helps anyone trying to decide whether they should get their hair done here!

Jillian produces a hip and feminie hair style for me every time I see her. She also colors my sisters' hair (cut too for one of them), and they always look amazing. I highly reccomend Jillian (she is available Sundays which makes scheduling easy). You can trust your crown to Jillian.

This so long overdue! Candice is amazing for my super icy platinum blonde hair color and the runway pixie cut she give me. Let me back up. I'm half Dominican and half Mexican so getting my brown/black hair to look beautiful platinum blonde is no easy task. She does it flawlessly and perfectly every time and leaves my hair so healthy it is unreal! I'm there every four weeks to get my roots touched up and every time I'm done I think there's no way It can look any better than the time before! But she always pulls it off and I leave looking and feeling incredible, like a brand new woman! I'm so in love with my hair and my new look and image I've had for the past eight months. When I knew I wanted to go blonde there was no one I would ever let touch my hair except Candice. I've known her and worked with her for 7 years and let me just say she and her team give the very best haircut, Hairstyle, and hair color. Jillian (pink hair) at the front desk is an absolute patient doll! They are Poppin and busy and stay current on all the trends. Candice is a true educator and makes her team invest in continuing education classes all the time which means a lot to me and shows me how much in love she is with her craft and her clients and her team. I only refer my friends to her and cringe when I see someone's hair color, cut or extensions out on the streets that could look so much better if they were under Diesel Salon's care and magic. While I've been under a dryer for my bleach roots to cure, I've personally seen her fix new clients' hair that tried to save money and go somewhere cheaper and made a new color correction appointment with her. Ladies and gentlemen you get what you pay for. You want the best, best costs more. Just like better cars and purses and shoes. I can't speak more highly of Diesel Salon. It's a bit of a drive for me to Kensington but I race home singing so loud and feeling so good! I look and feel like the 39 years boss lady that I am! Thank you Candice and your team for being the best in San Diego. I can't tell you how much what you do for me, does for me personally to face my world with confidence! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Brooke was very nice ! Johnny my stylist seemed to create his style of hair design he knew and was accustomed to rather than what I requested and did not leave me feeling excited with my bright bleached hair. He failed to put a toner the most important part of my hair appt b/c I requested $15 discount due to his lACK OF quality standards.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THERESE! What an amazing stylist. I have very thick ethnic kinky/curly hair. She was able to trim AND layer my hair, keep my length AND get rid of the split ends. My hair looks so healthy and she gave me so many tips on how to keep it up. THANK YOU THERESE!
