The food was so full of flavour and for a full restaurant, we didn't have to wait long at all. Everything was lovely and we got to sit with an ocean view. Imagine my shock at the end of the night when the bill for 3 adults was ALOT cheaper than I was expecting. Definitely recommend!
The restaurant didn't allow our group to just have coffees, they said we must eat meals. The antipasto platter was nice and the view sitting outside was good. Restaurant was not accommodating to dietary requirements unfortunately.
Where do I start?! Service was good, that's the only reason they get one star. Worst meal out I've had in a long time. The pasta was barely cooked, and had no flavour. Our oysters were awful tasted like mush... My husbands lasagne tasted worse than an aldi frozen one. My daughters pasta was way undercooked also, she usually eats her spaghetti no problems, but didn't even get through half. Definitely over priced. We wasted 100 bucks. I think the maccas we had on the way down was better value for money. We had Italian up at the Gold Coast not long ago, it was AMAZING quality. This was inedible. Don't bother wasting your money! If you want real food for breakfast or lunch, the cape kitchen is definitely worth a visit.
Best restaurant on the Island. Been here a number of time and have always been very happy. Friendly service, very generous servings, real italian food. Plus the bonus of amazing views. The gelato here is sensational!! Highly reccomended!
Traditional Italian food and traditional to go there when at the races at Phillip Island. Always good service and food.
Great food. Excellent location. Super busy but the staff work really hard to make room. Cheers.
A beautiful lunch, of Pork belly, mash, finely sliced pieces of apple sweated off in a white wine vinegar. Warm pickled cabbage. It was so delicious. The only down side, they only have full cream milk for their coffees. I don't have any allergies to milk just don't like the taste of full cream milk. Service was excellent also.
very tasty icecream. i got mango and it tasted very realistically like mango. wonderful! friendly staff and speedy service :)
The Homemade Gnocchi and Rigatoni were both delicious a d matched only by the exceptional service
Really average. Shame there isn't more places around
Amazing ice-cream, good indoor and outdoor seating and very friendly staff.
Gelati ice cream tastes anything but gelati...strong smell of possibly cleaning chemicals made me sick..
Waiting staff was excellent and very friendly. The food was mediocre and just tasted okay, while the price of 26 dollars for the prawn pizza suggested otherwise. Too expensive for the meh quality of the food
Excellent spot for a cruisy lunch with beautiful view of the bay and jetty. Great classic Italian cuisine - everything was perfectly presented and delicious accompanied by sparkly service. Come for the view, stay for the outstanding food
Lovely spot to dine outside in the fresh air. Very tasty authentic Italian food. Friendly efficient service.. well priced good food.
Exceeded my expectations, very reasonably priced food for some generous and tasty dishes.
Didn't have many meals available because of a lack of ingredients due to them shutting for a period the next day.Started packing chairs and tables up on their balcony while we were half way through our main meal. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate.
Walked in on a Sunday night for dinner. Wasn't really that busy, had our 2 year old and 4 month old in her capsule. We waited over 5 mins for someone to greet and seat us but they continued to walk past, serving others, clearing tables and taking payments. Walked out. Went to Pinos across the road and got greeted when we walked in and seated immediately.
Some of the best Italian food this side of the equator! Service here is always impeccable and you're always treated like a friend to the family. Great bartender as well!
Very rude adult male staff member.
When 15 year old asked for child s cone reply was they are for little kids only
Nowhere in the shop does it show an age limit! Then when she ordered a cone with 1 scoop asked him the price he rolled his eyes & just pointed to the sign behind him!
How rude! With the competition in Cowes you would think you would be over the top with your customer service!
So annoying adults treat younger people with no respect
Excellent pizza, great coffee, and the best location in Cowes with expansive views over Westernport Bay. Motorcycle enthusiasts will especially like the photo memorabilia in the back room. Local legend, Eddie, is nearly always in attendance. Highly recommended.
If you want to run the gauntlet of being insulted by the rude staff this is the place for you.
After listening to a customer complain about the wait and have the staff member (who I am guessing was either the owner or manager) respond rudely with "what do you expect when you just turn up") I went to pay. My bill was the $36 and I handed my card over, and was handed the machine to enter a pin. As the receipt printed I noticed I had been charged $336! I pointed it out and after initially being accused of causing it because I hit correction on the pin and reentered as it had not taken a digit, I was told they would give me $300 cash.
I wasn't overly happy about now having to carry $300 in my wallet and said I would reluctantly do it as they had said I didn't really have any choice. The response I got back was further retorts about how they don't make mistakes and how I must have caused it when I reentered my pin (how I managed to add a 3 to my bill without needing to reswup my card and restart the transanction I don't know) and also how I was being totally unreasonable by being upset with having to carry so much money around. How dare I.
No apology, not even niceties.
I was so upset with how I was treated I will never go there again, nor would I buy an icecream from the dump next door of the same name
Food is great~ staff are fantastic~ terrific views of western port and the promenade. It's My favorite restaurant in cowes~ the place is buzzin~ great atmosphere
Good location and views and l guess you pay for the total package on the meal price.
Overrated for the price with some meals light on especially with the spaghetti marinara, still looking for the fish, 2 prawns and 2 mussels is not my idea of a main meal.
Rude staff. Overcharged $20. Gave no apology. Seemed like it could have been intentional. Food was good but over priced.
Excellent service (catered even though we doe not have a booking), exceptional quality of the food and a beautiful restaurant with great views of the ocen (sitting bybthe windows).
Would definitely be back for some more!
Oh, oh what a pizza restaurant amazing tasting food, yummy 10 out of 10 !!!!
I ate because there were few houses open for Christmas
Worst...
What happened to this place? It use to be warm and inviting, now customers are intruding into young waitresses busy interaction with themselves.
We were completely ignored, waiting for 15 minutes at the table when young waitress was very busy polishing empty table near by! Such a shame!
Great place. Very busy at race time though. They still pump out great food and service.
Selection of icecream is really good, the taste and texture of the icecream was just really well balanced. Only issue was that you have to get 2 scoops of ice cream and cant do just one scoop.
Great food pasta and pizza were amazing would highly recommend and staff were quick and efficient.
I went to this restaurant with a group of 13 because it looked good from the outside and had a reasonably authentic feel when I walked in. I ordered a mix of pizzas and pasta for my family. The pizzas were good but the pasta I ordered was well undercooked. I approached one of the guys working there about the pasta and said it is beyond al'dente... It is raw .....only to be told that's how they cook it. Are you serious? I know my pasta and that is not how pasta should be cooked. He was a bit arrogant but the service we received from the other staff was great. Also, when they brought out the replacement pasta dish, it too was under cooked. By this time I wasn't going to waste my time raising it again. Acceptable but be aware, if you order pasta, apparently they always under cook it. It's a shame because other than this, I would have given it 4 stars.
Alright restaurant. A bit overpriced but that's alright considering it's location and views.
Nice views. Good atmosphere and food is fine. Good value and quick.
Right on the foreshore, you get a great view out over the ocean (if you get a table at the front of course). We only grabbed a few pizzas for an early lunch so the place was mostly empty and or food arrived in a few moments but I can imagine it could get busy.
Pizzas were fantastic, some of the best I've had for years, even the gluten free base was good.
Other gluten free options were limited but there were a couple of other choices. We will definitely will be back.
Amazing location and view. Staff were accommodating and the food was delicious and very well priced. Came back 2 days later and the male waiter was amazing as always. Although the short blonde haired girl was a little short. Amazingly enough our parents went the night after and also complained about that waitress. Food great though and atmosphere very warm. Highly recommend.
Great mussels in wine. Ask for Eddie and you have a great experience. They are happy to let dogs on the balcony and the food is awesome. Ensure you try the local beers and wines they serve.
Pretty ordinary gelati. The salted caramel was mostly salt and I ended up throwing out most of the scoop. The strawberry had a weird bitterness to it and the passion fruit was average. I am staying away. They seem busy though - unsuspecting tourists is my guess.
Very enjoyable meal. Large servings and reasonably priced. Friendly staff.
The pasta, pizza and the vibe is awesome.
But the food is bit too salty overall, hope they only use pinch of salt and let consumers make the adjustment.
Great Italian, kid friendly, decent food service and wine list
Good place to eat. Seafood is excellent and cooked well. The steak was a bit on medium when asked for medium rare, but still enjoyable.
Very nice lunch... Friendly service.. Great place for a quiet lunch... Loved the view of the Bay..
Perfect service, lovely food, and views across the bay. What more can l say?
Very disappointed by the experience I had here tonight. I took my partner for our 9 year anniversary hoping to have a lovely meal. From the condescending rude staff who could barely smile but managed to give VIP service to the table next to us with a smile, to the subpar Carbonara I had which was rubbery and to top it off forgetting our entree completely and still trying to charge me for it and I had to explain that we never received it. We got out of there as fast as we could. It was a disaster :/
My wife and I we come here for a day tour from Melbourne city, the pizza and pasta are fanatics, staffs are hospitality, nice view, we love it
Italian taste pasta and pizza and beautiful lookout near beach
This review concerns the adjoining gelateria, not the main restaurant. Gelati were fresh and obviously artisan quality. Small selection of sorbet and regular gelati but sometimes less is more. You can't see what you are ordering as there is no glass display, however young staff serving were friendly, and even offered samples. It was a busy holiday period, but we were luck enough to score seating just out front to also enjoy the water views.
Service was okay. We ordered two pasta, one fish of the day and one seafood dish.
However, they missed out one dish and took over 45 min to serve.
The portion size for the main dish pastas were small, we were all still hungry after the pastas.
Beautiful food, the dishes are fresh and good quality and tasty. The wait staff are friendly and very accommodating, we a couple of extra people over the original booking and they had no problem adding extra seats.
It has a beautiful view of the water.
All in all a great experience
Pizza was delicious and came quickly, attentive service and a great view
A great venue with a wonderful atmosphere. The food is authentic Italian. Service was a little slow and the lines to get in were long. Bookings are a good idea. Servings are a good size and food is reasonably priced.
We had two take away pizzas and they were delicious! We had a BBQ Meat Lovers Pizza and a Funghi Porcini Pizza. Both the price and portion sizes were great. We loved it so much that we may even be back again for dinner!
The pizza is not my style, actually the pizza base doesn t taste like the ones from Italy, but the toppings are okay. You can choose between 3 sizes of pizza. We didn t try the pasta so I don t have any opinion about it. The calamari looked and tasted like the frozen ones that you can buy at the supermarket.
The price was cheaper than average, so I was expecting for a lower level quality of food and service.
It is still okay if you are looking for something quick and simple.
Good location.
Spacious place with window overlooking the sea
Adequate seating space and reasonable price
High food levels, especially pizza
Individual taste of spaghetti
Worth a try
Great ice-cream and staff! Even when it was busy the staff were still friendly and patient.
Half my steak was over cooked and the other half was rare. Chicken parma was alright and calamari was good. But an over priced piece of steak served with a wedge of lemon with no seasoning at all. Realllly disappointing. The old lady is absolutely rude, asked for a straw and she basically threw it on the table.
Beautiful beaches :: pigeons flying group dance :: small town atmosphere :: food praise :: wine praise entrance aftertaste :: lovely shop
It's wang-chan-mat-zone-flavored. It's a berry-dot-cum-merch. The carbonara that we ate wasn't a carbonara. This must be doubled ... It's hard for ale beer
I have a really bad experience here. I asked Frito Misto waiting fried seefood with some vegetables. My surprise was enormous when I received fried battered seefood and fried battered vegetables (when have you seen a fried battered vegetables?), You must be more careful with what you guys say in menu since there is a lot of people who have allergies too. In my case I cannot eat anything from wheat therefore I asked if it could changed my dish, then, they told me is not possible and I was going to be charged anyways. In addition, they asked that I can asked more food instead. Really? It was going to be charged for 39 dollars for a dish that technically is just flour on everything and fried ( no cooking skill at all) and you asked if I want something more.
Nice views I was on vacation in Australia, for F1 race in Albert park was amazing. Then just touring Australia with the help of AAT Kings coach tours
Thank you from Miss Ann Cox
This place was recommended by our tour guide when my family and I traveled to Philip Island. We were skeptical at first as past tour guides (from other trips) might recommend restaurant that is mediocre but expensive.
However, we did not regret at all for stepping into Isola Di Capri! The pizzas were so good and reasonably priced with the portion given and the location. You can even enjoy sea view if you are seated near to the windows.
i ordered blood orange and lemon ice cream. i got it because i like TART lemon and blood orange. it was much to sweet for my liking. if you enjoy sweet ice cream i recomend it. if not, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY THERE! TRASH TRASH TRASH
Called in late tonight without a reservation. Nothing was too much trouble for the warm and friendly staff. Food was perfect. My husband's pork belly was to die for while our pastas were straight out of nonnas kitchen. Loved everything about our experience....just wished we lived closer to go back more regularly.
Pizza here is amazing. I'm a local and it took me a while to discover just how good this place is.
