What a great place to learn about a historical location! This corn mill is still working and you can take a tour to explore its history and how it works. You can also purchase some fresh corn mill, too. It seemed a little run down, but that could be chalked up to part of its charm
What a fun and educational time we had. I took my 3 children and 2 nieces. Very affordable. Bought some great corn meal. We had a handsome experience. 2 men told use about the history of the mill and how they make the Corn meal. It has been a few years since we went but I remember taking a lot of pics and having a very nice time
Very pretty location for pictures and picnics with families or just a date with your significant other. Free street parking
Nice historic place
This explanation/demonstration us the best I've ever seen, and I've seen these things in several states! It covered the mechanical and practical aspects of a grist mill, and how it functions, as well as how the water actually does run it. Clear concise, interesting, and made easy to understand! Our guide even said that engineers are most interested, and anxious to crawl in there and figure it out, which, of course, is not allowed, for their own protection(trust me, I'm married to one for years, and they just discount their own need for safety!). He really enjoyed the talks, too! You can even buy some of the ground corn, if you want!
While beautiful and very picturesque, I am not sure what all the fuss is about. There is no parking and very crowded street intersection. I would avoid if you have something better to do or want to see. Not worth it.
Just look at the pictures posted by me and other posters to save yourself the trouble, headache, and time.
Don't forget to fill your water bottle from the natural spring out front.
I love this part of historic Sandwich. It feels as though you've been sent back in time. I do however go for more practical reasons and that's the public water supply. There is a public spout where you can fill up on delicious spring water that has become quite popular.
