Obviously as Oregon natives, we love Deschutes Brewery. And the pub food is matched in quality to time tested beers. They consistently offer really good vegan burgers and other vegan menu items. The veg burger right now is so good we've gone countless times just for that lol.
Terrific food and beer. The wair was a little long but well worth it!
Love this place! Most helpful and accommodating place I've been to. Great food. Great beer. Great service.
Great food. Great beer. Did the classic sampler and had an elk burger. Awesome. Table was a little small for two people and it had three stools. Couldn't imagine three people at the table for more than drinks and maybe a shared appetizer.
I did not realize how impressed I would be with this establishment. Got a 6-beer sampler and really liked 5 of them. The Mirror Pond Pale Ale is ridiculously good, and I never do sours, but I really liked the dill pickle sour. The food was fantastic, too. My steak salad was really good, but I couldn't help stealing some of my husband's Carlito's pizza so-so good!
I came with a large party that reserved the group section. The food was delicious and no one had any complaints about the beer. I hope to come back later with friends.
Greatest vegan pizza I ve ever had! This place isn t a vegan place but they have at least one clearly labeled vegan option in each section of the menu
Great atmosphere, great food, great beer, great service. I would recommend coming to this destination when visiting. I had their thai spicy chicken wings that were really good for an appetizer. Their fish and chips are some of the best in the industry! Good stop.
Arguably the best selection and quality of craft beers in the country! Something for everyone. So glad they are now available in the Midwest.
Love this place, normally zero issues...but today I opened my 64oz growler to find something in the range of a nice lager - Da Shootz - good, but not the standout Bachelor Bitter than we can never get enough of at home, and what I had ordered for my fill. It was disappointing enough to inspire this missive. :(
Mistakes happen, but I guess I've been spoiled but stellar experiences at the Bend pub, but today...as I watch Oregon's Civil War game, Women's Bball, my thirst isn't quenched. :(
Great selection of beers and appetizers. A must go brewery when visiting Portland.
Food is good and portions are substantial. Beer is great and staff awesome. You won't be disappointed. Good surprise when we got the bill: pints only 3.75 km Mondays!!!!
This place used to be my favorite brewery. It's sad to see what's happened there.
This place was super good. tried a beer sampler and truffle pizza
Good selection of beers on tap from new ones to trusty go-to's.
If you have a chance to stop by the brewery in Bend, Oregon, give the 'cask ale' a try, it's awesome! It changes often, so stop by frequently. ;^)
During our stay in Bend last week, we had the pleasure of dining at the Deshutes Brewery Pub. It was absolutely delicious! My friend had the ribs and I had the Italian dip. Both were absolutely scrumptious! I'm going to also give a special recognition to their side of mac and cheese, very cheesy, creamy and yummy! While there, we would have been remiss in our duties as American citizens if we didn't try the beer, so we got the classic sampler. All of the samples were great but the Black Butte Porter was terrific! You definitely can't go wrong with either choices here!
I know bar food is not typically great but I didn't expect it to be so bad. We made a reservation on Halloween night and good thing we did because the hostess stand was overwhelmed with people trying to get in the door (Also very hard to maintain social distance that way...) We were seated upstairs and felt like we were sitting at a table in a huge open room without even music playing. Our server did not seem like she wanted to be there and was very brusque when taking our orders. Not to mention, she never came by to fill up our water or clear away our dishes let alone offer to put in an order for another drink. I got the French onion soup and Caesar salad thinking those are two dishes that are difficult to screw up. Boy was I wrong. The Caesar salad tasted like it had wasabi mixed into it? it was probably one of the worst Caesar dressings I've ever tasted, including cheap stuff you could buy at the grocery store. The French onion soup was even more bl ah and disappointing. It might have been redeemed if it came with bread on the side, but it did not. The fried chicken sandwich is comparable to something you could get at Wendy's, complete with a serious lack of flavor. all in all I don't recommend coming here unless you have a reservation and plan on bad service, disappointing food and leaving thirsty.
Some things should stay a mystery however this experience is most welcome
Wow the beer and the food were fantastic. Definitely a great value and a must visit shrine even for the amateur beer drinkers out there.
This place has a lot of selection 4 beer wine and it looks like whiskey it was a fun atmosphere for Saturday night it was still easy to find a table the crowd was friendly the wait staff is also pretty friendly overall good night good place to go for a beer the food looks good but I don't have any
Great beers on tap, the bison burger was delicious! And the fries in and of themselves we're a delight!
Great beer as you could imagine. Food is a little less stellar, but great happy hour. Service was decent. A must GO if you are in Bend
I was there for their 30th anniversary. The Black Butte Porter was worth having again.
We came in right about close... They were so gracious! Brought us drinks and dinner with a smile! The food was amazing! Jalapeno artichoke dip to die for! Good job MC! Thanks for being such a great host!
Great pizza even though they no longer offer spent grain pizzas
I love beer especially from the breweries in Bend, Oregon! I'm giving this 5 stars even though the pretzel was not a traditional pretzel. Either there was new folks in the back making pretzels or this really wasn't good. Either way, my friend returned his as the waitress said, "our chefs make them in house and do a great job. I'm sorry it wasn't to your liking". Pass on the pretzel.
It was a real pleasure to be able to finally make it out to Bend and try this place. As a long time fan of Mirror Pond, it was great to try the pub-exclusive fresh hop version and I love that they have special brews you can only get on-site. The great menu was also cool, but a little pricey. Location in Bend is also great, but a true pub style (not like the lawns at others in the area).
Great beer, great food, and a cozy atmosphere! Excellent service to boot!
Best fries I have ever had, and I am not just saying that. The special fires were stinking amazing. Great staff and beer.
Great wings and a wide variety of beers. You can design your own flight and put together any combination of the delightful brews you choose! The ambiance and service are also stellar.
Beer was obviously solid. Came in to try some of the interesting vegetarian options and was extremely impressed. One of the better meals I've had in a while. Shared Caesar salad (no fish), jackfruit burger, BBQ lentil burger (my fav and far better than it sounds), mac and cheese (nice complex flavor-i usually find mac a bit boring), and a berry cobbler. All highly recommend.
Is the beer good? Yeah, of course. But I was terribly underwhelmed by everything else. The French onion soup was great, and the artichoke dip wasn't half bad. Props where props are due.
Other than that it was as uninspiring as an interstate Denny's. Burger was a joke and the service was even worse. Don't disappoint yourself, try Spork instead.
I really enjoyed my first visit to the brewery. it surely won't be my last. they have these dill fries that are to die for and of course the beer is excellent. I also tasted the cider which was delicious! !
Things are getting pricy here. The food is great and so is the service.
Great beer, good atmophere, somwhat slow service, but polite.
Really great food for a public house, and as always, Deschutes beer is top notch!
Unique food good service and great beer. Sat us immediately.
This place is always a fun delicious place to eat. The beers are delicious and the food is good. If I lived closer we would go a lot!!
Always good beer, better than average food. Better service than most brewery/pubs.
What a Great Place to start our trip! Fantastic Food and Crafts Beers
Really great service, drinks and food. Busy but efficiently for the wait.
Howard O is great!
So were the fish and chips and whiskey flight.
Fish and chips are really good. Beer is pretty good to
The beer is amazing... I drink it whether in Portland, Bend, or even Los Angeles. The food at the brew house is off the charts. Definitely one of the most fun places to be in Bend!
Great environment and food, but long waits knock off a star. If you can get in before 5:00 it's not so bad. Still, a fantastic local brew pub. Prices have crept up a bit. I like the steak salad with an Armory XPA.
Great lunch! Often have their french onion soup and today of had my first twilight of the year. Great stuff
18 deschutes beers on tap. Gastro pub food a Bend icon. Always busy after 5 but lots of room for big groups.
Outstanding service today. Beer selection is always great.
Great food, but not a fan of their beer. I dont like hoppy beer so I tried everything not an IPA. Couldn't find anything I liked. Everything was too bitter but that's just my taste. Food was excellent though for all 4 of us
The Beer is absolutely wonderful, cesar salad is a must, and we had the "local" pizza and the sausage is a bit spicy but yummy!!!
** Update **
I finally received a reply from Aubrey. It took nearly a month. Basically she said they failed to update the web site tap list, but offered a gift card. I replied and said taking a month to reply is unacceptable. That basically shows they don't care. She did not reply.
Deschutes has turned into a "we don't care" company. They are now at the bottom of my list. I will take my business somewhere else.
*****
Great quality beer but the web site tap list is wrong for both the pub and production brewery. Employees at both locations said the tap lists were at least a week outdated.
We drove almost 4 hours to come here. I was very disappointed to find out EVERY beer I wanted was gone. Almost everything was bitter or sour and we don't like either.
I wrote directly to them asking why but nobody replied. They obviously don't care.
Great place to grab a beer and burger, default stop for anyone visiting.
Super busy, but prompt with food and drinks. An all-time favorite!
Damn good food, damn good environment, damn good wait staff, damn good beer, and the flour less brownie was pretty good too.
Good beer. Poorly prepared food. Medium rare does not mean charred to beyond flavor. Fries taste like nothing but salt. And my apologies to the staff for wanting a bit of service. Don't worry. It won't happen again.
Really enjoyed the beers, atmosphere was nice. Chimichurri sandwich was really good.
My hubby and I enjoyed a tasty dinner here on a busy Saturday night. We enjoyed the artichoke-jalapeno cheese dip as an appetizer - it was piping hot and delicious! Hubby had the traditional bacon cheeseburger and said it was quite tasty. I enjoyed the spicy fried chicken sandwich - and they weren't kidding around; spicy and delicious! We had excellent service on a very busy Saturday night, despite the crowd. Highly recommend!
Used to be a locals hang out, now a tourist spot. Always crowded, expect to wait. Average menu/food, good beer.
Service was not very attentive to me or my friend Trequantae, and serviced others before us for longer than 20 minutes. The reason I gave it an extra star, is because the beer is amazing. You can taste the difference here.
Great food and service. Plenty of room for family or parties.
Nice spot. Visited from out of town and decided to had to swing in to a brewery I've been drinking beer from for years. Beer was good, food was great, and would definitely come back again!
Great beer, duh. And awesome food and friendly staff with a cool atmosphere.
Overall good experience. Love the location! The food selection and taste had a bit more of a "chain" dining appeal to it vs. authentic.
Howie is a great waiter and full of info! Knows his menu and beers
You expect a lot from Deschutes, because, well, they're out front. So when we walked in here after our half marathon last weekend (the Bend Ale Run), we were hoping for something good to eat. Holy smokes have they nailed their food. I didn't bring my glasses so didn't read the tap list, just asked for an IPA that was a steady mover. Server recommended the Hand Up, and it was great.
I am vegetarian, and split a salad and the quinoa-based bowl with friends. A buddy of mine just ordered the pretzel, and he started making love-making sounds when eating it.
Just go!
Good good. It horrible service Sat at the bar. The bartender took a look my way and keep chatting. Took a moment then he finally ask what I wanted. Didn t offer a food menu, I had to ask another person for a menu. 1st time visiting and unimpressed
Great atmosphere, great staff, great food and even better beer. Got their Dry aged steak, and their 30th anniversary black butte porter. I usually wont spend 30 bucks on a steak dinner, cause i always feel like i could make it better anyways, but i was suprised with what i got. Amazing flavor, perfectly cooked, and a decently sized portion. And if your into dark beers, i cant recommend their birthday edition black butte porters enough.
The beer taster were terrific. B& T Botanical Ale Cocktail is wonderful. The food was super.
Food is great, they do not honor industry discount for bottled beer to go :(
This is ALWAYS a great place. The food is always excellent, the atmosphere is great and the service is always great. HUGE selection of beer on the tap menu. Also, they dont charge for tasters, (like no other pub in this world does) of beer unlike last week when I was at an unnamed pub in Bend that starts with BY brewing.
I had the best burger I've ever had as well, the Bond Burger. Hands down it was great!
Came here for dinner our first night in Bend. My wife ordered the Caesar salad while I tried the dry aged ribeye. The waitress returned a few minutes after ordering and informed us there was no more salmon. My wife begrudgingly ordered the fish and chips instead. I cut into the steak once the food arrived to check the doneness. I had ordered the steak medium. The first few bites were medium rare, closer to rare. Not wanting to cause a scene I continued to eat the steak. It was only after getting to the center of the steak that I found it was beyond rare. I flagged down the waitress who was alarmed at the doneness of the steak and offered to remake it. I declined since I didn't have much of an appetite anymore. I ordered a pretzel instead. The waitress comp'd my beer and (obviously) didn't charge for the steak. Overall, a $5 beer didn't make up for the hellish dining experience. I would've loved to have spoken with a manager but why wife insisted I let it go. Bottom line: do not come here for the food, you will be disappointed.
Amazing Beer! We haven't gotten the food yet, but the beer is so great, who cares about food. Friendliest service too!
