I am currently a student in the middle school. I also created this account to anonymously post just this one review so that this can't be traced back to me in any way. Because I have some things about this school that I need to get off my chest.
For one, it's a fraud. This whole school claims to be one that helps each individual student with it's needs. But it doesn't. I have yet to receive any help at all for my dyslexia. And a large majority of all students that go there have dyslexia, and all of them get no help at all with it. The school doesn't help kids at all. If anything most of the teachers give the students work that only helps themselves. And directly hinders the class.
Also, most of the teachers that work there are very rude. And will pick favorites in the class, and scream at kids that they don't like for doing practically nothing. While the "favorites" get off scott free, and can do anything they wont in the entire school. For example, earlier in the school year there was a little incident. Student A cheated at a sport. Student B calls Student A out for cheating. Then Student A punches the kid in the face. Then teacher comes and breaks it up. But for the kid who punched the other kid. You wanna know what his punishment was. 2 laps around the school. 2 LAPS, THAT'S IT. Meanwhile. Another student asks for the answers to some homework. And both students got a strike for doing so. I could understand giving them a strike if it was like a test or something. But homework? Really?...Now I have to explain the strike system at the school so you can better understand this. Basically 3 strikes and your expelled. So this kid got 1/3 of the way to expulsion for sharing homework. While another kid punches another kid and all he has to do is run 2 freaking laps.
Also with all the reviews here. If there by a parent and not a student. Disregard them. For some reason the parents seem to think that everything is fine. I think this is because students are to afraid to tell their parents that this school is a scam of $30,000. This school also assigns way too much homework. Look up the definition of burnout please.

nice.

Wonderful school that provides a top-notch education for all students, including those who may learn differently. Our daughter struggled in public school and came home every day in tears. At DA, her test scores and grades improved dramatically and she has gotten involved in their awesome extracurriculars.

The people that work there are very rude. They also dump sewage into the gutter. The neighborhood behind there reeks like a month old porta potty that has been well used. Having to walk by there when they do that will make you very nauseous. Not to mention it used to be a mental hospital. I would NEVER have my children go here!!!

I am a current student at Denver Academy. I am currently going into my six year at DA. I will be a junior. I have to say this School is amazing. I do spend a fair amount of time in the classroom but if you can't find me there you can also check athletics I love sports. Since my body kept me from being a superstar I thought I would go anther way become the manger for the soccer/basketball/baseball teams and I love it. I feel like I'm a player.

I am the parent of two students with learning differences who attend this school. This is our second year here and this school has been life changing for our family. Our sons receive the accommodations they need and have been allowed the opportunity to be successful and thrive in a supportive environment. The arts and athletic programs have rounded out their experiences here. For the first time, we know that our children will have the tools to continue on after high school and attend a four year university. Highly recommend this wonderful school, which treats our kids like family.

I am a current student at the DA middle school and i have found my experience over all positive. I believe that the teachers put effort in to not push their political views on the unsuspecting victims that are middle schoolers and they rarely even share it when asked for. As well I have had terrible experiences at prior schools and i almost failed out of one of the but now i have a friendly safe environment where i can flourish. the work is treble and the students may be unkind on occasion but i believe that the staff and teachers try the hardest. but one of the downsides for me is they offer no contact sports as i am a big lacrosse player, but they do that for good reason, students are unlikely or unwilling to join something where the gear is expensive with little to no prior experience and that is heavily shown in the lack of willingness to have a lacrosse program from the board of directors altho there may be a handful of students who would play the other side outnumbers them by a landslide. but overall DA is a good school that doesn't need misinformed kids spewing absolute nonsense about the teachers liberal views.

Some teachers are amazing! I went there 5th-9th grade. Unfortunately their is alot of bullying and the mean teachers out weigh the good ones. Alot of rude mean administration heads. Some good ones but not all. Progressive high school was amazing for the way I learned. They just need to get a handle o n the bullying, get progressive back and fire some administration staff. That's all.

This is a very good school. The teachers are very nice, and I enjoyed spending time there. The whole area surrounding DA is very pleasant. I feel very privileged that I got to go there for 2 years.
