Called to ask a simple question and was treated to some good old fashioned southern sass.

So my wife and I have seen the PD in our complex 2-3 times over the last month. My wife called to inquire as to why and whether or not we should be worried. She has made numerous attempts and been sent to voicemail each time.

My family was broken down on the side of the road at 12 am. The kids were hot in the car so I let them sit on the side walk. We had our car hood open and everyone was outside the car. Two Denton police drove by and not one stopped to see if we were ok. All we needed was a simple battery jump.

These guy will keep you safe from all the raging 10 year old kids with disabilities. With everything else, they are pretty useless. Calling them is probably a waste of time. You're better off with vigilantism tbh.

Two officers entered my house last night illegally without a warrant and searched my house over a "noise complaint"

Whether someone hit your car with their door or has run you off the road Denton PD can never do anything to help us get justice. But they love to harass drivers for legally sitting idle or for making a wide turn.

I've lived in Denton for 17 years and had many positive interactions with our police. Recently, officers were dispatched to my home in response to a 911 call that we later realized had been placed by my 9 month old baby. The responding officer was very friendly and understanding, despite the waste of his time.
Within a week of that event, I called the non-emergency number to report a persistent beeping sound coming from somewhere on my block. Even though it was a strange report to make, the responding officer was exceptionally friendly and helpful and able to find the source of the sound (a smoke detector left on a porch!) and reach the owners to solve the problem.

I had an encounter with a very professional Officer this morning after dropping my child off at school. I want to say thank you to all of you that do what you do daily.

Disgusted and sick at my stomach! it's bad enough that my ex-girlfriend can get into a shelter to be safe from her abuser which is me and then she invites me out for the weekend to go do the things any normal family would do12 hours before a court hearing for a protective order we're having margaritas at Chili's in Dentonso the next morning when she sees the pictures of us at Chili's he faintsand ever so quick on her feet and the consummate liar that she is she told the prosecutor I stopped her all the way to Gainesville at the carnival which on the surface seems plausible but with a little Elementary detective work how do I get my truck back to Denton? it's one lie after anothernever mind that she's got for convictions for methamphetamine and and has been to prison because of it and never mind that she has lost four daughters all to methamphetamine she's never had a daughter reach the age of three before she was taken away from herhere it isFather's Day and I won't get to see my little girl because her mother is a vindictive drug selling piece of crap who staying in a shelter because she can do whatever she wants and is Untouchable by the police even this is so ridiculous I just want to puke like she says in the review below this one house she said her and her daughter are safe safe from what? Are you safe from yourself because you're unstable mind is the only thing that's posing a danger to anyone including yourself she should be locked up for perjury and the policeman that were involved in this so-called investigation should be put on some sort of a leave without pay

They were very gentle when handcuffing me. Their vehicles had plenty of leg room and a comfy seat as well. Will definitely get arrested by them again

Sgt. Briggs needs to be trained on how to deal with law abiding citizens and stop threatening, bullying and harassing those who employ him.

Got pulled over for having part of California covered on lic. Plate. Both young gentlemen were very polite and friendly. We asked for best hotels in town and they told us where to go. Thanks Denton PD for being friendly..

They will detain you without reason. Know your rights and video everything.

Officers are abusive and intimidating. Came in for fingerprinting and was berated by the officer, who sank as low as to vocalize personal attacks. Extremely unprofessional.

Observed a Denton Police officer in a photo shaking the hands of the 3 young memebers of an anti fracking group, just prior to arresting them. This picture shoild go viral, it would go a long way toward partially rehabilitating the terribel decline of trust among our public toward our law enforcement community.
America's Obviously, the Denton police officers if they live in the community are aware of the issues, dangers and real health consequences of the blow outs, fires and other failure which regretably occur among the fracking units, to all the member of the community, becaseu of the proximity of the wells.

Outstanding police force, however the women at the front desk have serious customer service issues. It's impossible to carry on a conversation with any of them without receiving a condescending tone from them. Their professionalism is completely subpar and it reflects on the department.

Called the police and they never showed up. I didn t know that was allowed.

Briggs #34 is so inept in the law and first admendment. Bully mentality with a fragile ego. He is not fit to serve the public.

Sgt.Briggs here, I have read most of the reviews, and I must say I am appalled at all the lies being told here. They really have the audacity to tell lies!

Get officers that are trained to deal with disabilities instead of using force and improper restraint on an autistic 10 year old.

Unethical, unconstitutional police work for this department. I just saw SGT. Briggs (Badge #34) threaten to write a retalitory ticket to a citizen for not talking to him, all the while pretending to be concerned for the citizen's safety. Sad.

They gently handcuffed me. The car seats were very comfy and roomy. Would definitely get arrested by them again :)

Sgt Briggs please read this, Photography is not a crime, Not answering your questions is not a crime, harassment is, you followed and tried intimidate and threaten to TORT the individual because his only NON CRIME was contempt of cop for not answering your question, now you've filed a frivolous privacy claim on the youtube video you are featured in again in another bid to Harass and intimidate. The Privacy WILL fail, Your a public servant, your expectations of privacy outside the station is zero. If you want the people of Denton will accept your resignation in order to work in the private sector, but I do urge and encourage you NOT to apply for security jobs as you WILL encounter this type of thing again, to completely avoid Any kind of public photographer that may catch you doing something illegal, I would suggest you work as a farm hand in deep back country shovelling Bull waste.

Just passed a Denton cop who was chilling in Kroger parking lot. He did nothing as someone turned dangerously into the wrong side of the road and impeded traffic until people could let him get to the correct side. What are we even paying for ? Only Denton police are like this I swear.

Downright awful! I called multiple times before for domestic abuse in the apartment above mine, I've called for noise complaints, because I'm worried for the women upstairs and No one ever shows up. I even called the onsite police in my apartment and was ignored as well as if someone getting brutally beaten is not important! I'm disgusted at how our society reacts to matters such as this.

Just got off the phone with dispatch on non emergency line. There's an ongoing bomb threat at Texas Health Presbyterian where my wife is an on duty nurse. I called because there is no longer a police presence on the campus, and noone has been updated on the situation by law enforcement at all. So I'm at home with our 2 kids worried and wondering what's going on and the dispatcher is rude to me and all she says is there's a lot of media coverage and she can't comment further. Great job guys. Nice followup. Worthless!!!! So pissed!

I was a resident at the Denton County jail when my car was stolen by two people who eventually got pulled over and jailed for possession. $1118 is my official tow fee as of today. I have a copy of the police report and it clearly shows the name on the vehicle was in fact me and neither the driver or the passenger. Please tell me why there isn't an "unlawful possession" charge and why I have to pay any of that tow fee.

My wallet was stolen out of my car that was parked in my garage. I reported it and two weeks later it was found by the DPD. They returned it to me right away. That's police work at it's finest. Thank you guys very much, much respect.

Lady at the front desk this morning was abysmally unhelpful. She couldn't even be bothered to lean over to the the microphone button, and hit it with a ruler. After describing her our situation, she said we were in the wrong place and told us to go to the Enforcement center. Asked for an address which she couldn't be bothered to find, and drew is a map that was literally two squares on a paper, and she pointed at one and said "this square is the courthouse. The other is the enforcement center". Go there, and they're closed. Turns out she meant the Law Enforcement Center, which is a different thing. We went there, they gave us the number for Corinth police, since they say it happened there. Corinth police said it was technically in Denton based on the road location. Anyway, 3 hours later, we're in the right place, which turned out to be the Denton PD building where we started. This lady was just too lazy to do anything. It's a wonder anything gets done in Denton

They dont even desrve a star, should be half a star!! Then they complain about doing there job. One worst police departments i have ever had to deal.

Got in a wreck on 35, called 911, waited 45 minutes, had to call again for them to tell me they weren't coming.

I had the best time at this place, they are so hospitable! So respectful as well

I've waited over 25mins for an office for a non emergency call. The police station is 7 mins away from Margie St and S.Ave B . this is sad a shameful . Worst than Dallas cops and what's worse is the fact I support cops !

The recent interaction between a member of the public and Sgt Briggs shows categorically the disgraceful stance adopted by Sgt Briggs in his
unwarranted confrontation of the videographer who was lawfully recording from a public place....Sgt Briggs failed in his duty as a sworn officer of the law ....he was successful however in turning a respected uniform into a COSTUME OF A CLOWN.........he also confirmed the old saying "An empty vessel makes the most noise" and he surely demonstrated his cranium cavity to be quite empty.....at best he can be considered to have thrown a childish tantrum, at worst he violated the rights of a citizen, shame on him and shame on the Denton Police Dept if they refuse to take action against him.

Thieves took tools and my iPod. My son went to make a report. The ladies working there were rude and disinterested. I guess they don t remember they are in public service. It s pointless to report a theft. They could at least pretend to care but they ignore you when they aren t being rude. Hasn t changed much. A few years ago my other son had $800.00 he had from selling a car. He was stopped by the police soon after selling it and the police confiscated that $800.00. They also took his cell phone. He was never charged with a crime, nothing! We couldn t get anyone to even talk to us about the money & phone they confiscated . I guess the thieves that run that place aren t too concerned about the thieves out running the streets. If anyone finds a green phone & $800.00 up there it belongs to me & my son.

Denton police arrested another officer what else is new the department is crooked they should change the name to the thugs in blue because they are the true suspects. every time I see a cop they are sitting around churches and parks doing nothing I see them sitting around for hours which is wrong they should be fighting crime thats what we pay them for.

Low staffing, the officers are obviously overworked and undermanned. It takes a long time to get a response. The duty officer quoted up to several hours wait for hit-and-run accident response. That is unacceptable. The stress on the force shows in the attitude of virtually everyone ive come into contact with there. As an ex military officer, I truly appreciate the job that they're trying to do but clearly they are overworked, frustrated and behind the power curve. This is a reflection of Texas' low tax low service philosophy and as a result it's pretty much every man for himself on the roads of the metroplex. Be careful out there.

I had the pleasure to speak with officer Clint Web today. This officer is great at what he does. He is a fair, honest God fearing man and it shows in his interactions with people. You here about so many bad interactions with the police now a days and I just felt the need to leave a review about Officer web! The world needs more ppl like him. Thank you Officer Web.

Where have the police been in Denton on 35E for the past two years plus, drivers are exceeding the speed limits and reckless driving; still on cell phones, no cops ever around to stop them. Why have a speed limit or laws, if they are not enforced?

The officers arrive quickly & are extremely nice & fair. They diffused the situation in a very professional manner. Best police team work I've ever seen.

Generally lazy, abusive and DGAF. This is based on experience.... on several occasions where either I, or my party, were merely trying to get from point A to point B...This is also based on several outside reports. "What a pathetic joke" applies to the DPD quite well, but it's not easy to fight any corrupt system.

It was bad enough that "sgt" Briggs threatened a citizen with a ticket because he was taking video and wouldn't answer his questions (while NOT breaking ANY law), but now Briggs has filed a privacy complaint because he doesn't want to be on YouTube violating his oath. This man is a disgrace. As a former LEO I am personally embarrassed by the lack of professionalism and the ignorance shown by Briggs. He is a public servant. He has NO EXPECTATION of privacy while on duty. If Briggs doesn't want to be on video, or honor his oath, he should seek other employment. This man shouldn't have ever been promoted to a supervisory position.

Most, not all, of the officers are corrupt here. Saying racist comments during the arrest and making a mockery that they need to arrest more white people. Then when we called to get the officers badge number he hung up on us. Very unprofessional and I lost complete faith in the system

Apparently I was going 77 mph In a 60mph zone but I swear I had my cruise control on 63mph. I know I was still speeding a bit, but their was no way I was doing 77.

Shocked at how lazy and greedy these scumbags have proven themselves to be. Originally called them because my motorcycle was knocked over in a parking lot, they run the truck's info to discover they have no insurance. So of course they issue them no ticket and charge me with being in a wreck so my insurance premiums have risen. The reasoning they gave me for that was I had no video footage of it happening, so if you're planning to murder anybody in Denton just make sure nobody is recording you and Denton PD will refuse to investigate because I guess before video cameras were a thing police could never convict anybody of anything. Refuses to write tickets for broken down vehicles, which is a law in Denton. Constantly have to watch out around their gas guzzling suv's, that they'll leave 5 of them sitting in a row running while they take their hour+ lunch, because they're so busy texting on their phones that I've seen them almost run into cyclists that very obviously had the right of way. Watch out specifically for their new scam! I've seen a plain appearing minivan and a gmc denali already this summer that were operated by Denton sheriff so they can give out more tickets. Good job on that second officer convincing his boss that tax payer dollars needed to go to convert his $80,000 personal vehicle into a police vehicle so he gets free upkeep on what I'm sure is a very high maintenance vehicle, what with it being the premium edition with all the leather and whatever else. I'm ecstatic that I'll finally be able to move away from Denton this fall after years of knowing that if I'm ever in any real trouble that I've had nobody to call for assistance. For all these five star reviews on here, you've obviously never been in a situation where up actually needed a real police officer to show up in a timely fashion, any response from Denton pd that was under 2 hours would absolutely shock me, to do their job. #earning the hate everyday

It's hard to trust in law enforcement(who get payed with the people's hard earned taxes, including mine) when there is a lack of respect for the people whom they are supposed to be serving. Lack of respect in how they respond to a person. Lack of respect in the accusatory and condescending communications with that person. Lack of any consideration whatsoever for what the other person has to say. It may not be all of the officers. But there are some in the city of Denton who think, because they wild alittle authority, they get to be judge and jury and condemn the innocent as guilty until proven innocent. They only discredit themselves with the people. :(

Dispatcher was unnecessarily impatient and rude. I called the non emergency number for a non emergency concerning theft in my area, but was treated as though I was bothersome and unimportant to the department. I'm not sure about all of the dispatchers, but the woman working the evening I called was surprisingly unhelpful.

Called for non vilont crime. Put on hold because the operator did not know the law, after explaining the law. I was put on hold. Waited and then just hung up.
Just in case a person reviews this at the office 6/11/2017. Hire better people!

Worst police service and call receivers i have ever experienced in my whole life, they refused to give me any information related to the question i has asked. Then she yelled at me. When I asked to talk to a supervisor i was immediately transferred to a sergeant who wasn't even in the office. Ethics and respect need to be re-evaluated in your call answering division. 10/10 worst service i have ever received.

Sgt Briggs #34. You have been caught trying to do unethical things and in this day and age have tried to cover it up with the removal of said video. The Video in question will now multiply into the thousands and be placed across many platforms, it will not go quietly into the night. Tyranny shall never be acceptable and should be extinguished by peaceful means. I encourage Denton police to look deep into Sgt Briggs #34..

Ive had to deal with several police officers concerning an ongoing threat to myself and they were so wonderful here at helping me do whatever they cpuld to keep me and my daughter safe. Love denton police
