Deli George! Review

I've been going here for years. Fantastic sandwiches!

Just went there today for the first time with my boyfriend. We literally do not have a single complaint about our visit. They have so many incredible, delicious, diverse sandwiches to choose from. I was kind of overwhelmed so I just got the chicken salad sandwich- DELISH! My boyfriend got their daily special and he was also very pleased with it. All the food is made with quality ingredients and they are so good at pairing/balancing flavors. This is the kind of place where you order at a counter but they bring the food to your table. I ordered a cup of soup and they brought it to me promptly, not to mention the soup (sweet potato & pumpkin) was amazing. Despite it being a busy lunch hour our sandwiches came out pretty quickly and the servers are very good about asking how you are doing or how your food was. They also offer to clear your tables, a very nice touch. You really feel like a valued customer there. All around amazing place, we are going back for sure!

Deli George has always been a favorite of mine and they continue to be one of the best sandwich shops in Boise. They've got cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, salads, beer, and great service. Their Reuben is very classic and very delicious, I highly recommend it. You can't go wrong with any choice though. Definitely give Deli George a try!

Yes I will agree the food is awesome, there prices are way to high for the type of food they offer. Think they might have a bit of an ego.

Amazing sandwiches and pasta salad. Only issue for me is the hours being inconvenient for my schedule, but it's hard to run a small business with convenient hours for everyone, so I can't fault them. Owner and/or manager seems very cool. Overall, a local business worth supporting.

The potato and pasta salads are so so good!!!! And the sandwiches are hearty. They aren't stingy with their meat portions. The turkey, bacon avocado is fantastic! If you're looking for a deli to cater, THIS IS IT! ANd their prices can't be beat...

Great service. I actually had the owner George come out and set up a catered lunch at my office and the sandwiches and soups were awesome.

We just ate here for the first time. Service was fast, and pleasant. We loved the Bacon Steakin' mushroom sandwich. Our kids loved the turkey bacon avocado sandwich. Five year old said, "The best sandwich I ever had in my life! You gotta try this!" We highly recommend and wish we lived closer so we could try other sandwiches, too!

Awesome sandwiches with an Idaho twist. Huge menu selection and fair prices. A true local place with great values. I highly recommended making a visit. Great location for lunch and after seeing what downtown Boise is all about. Great services friendly people and all around Boise atmosphere. Definitely making another trip and many more. 5 stars

Liked a little better when George and family owned and ran this place. At one time I considered this the best place for a Ruben over any place else. Just OK now!

Ordered a Full Service Sandwich Platter for 15. It was hands down the Best Food, and Service we've ever received. You cannot compare Deli George to any other sandwich shop, that's how good they are. If you want to impress someone, bring them here. If you're looking for a way to impress your employees or co-workers, order for the whole office. Deli George is simply the best. Ever.

Not impressed with the grilled cheese sandwich, but others in my party loved the turkey avocado and turkey with cranberry.

The food is fantastic and they treated me like family.

Great family owned lunch spot. Wonderful assortment of sandwiches and salads for any eclectic taste. Nice soups for the winter also. Breads and fixings are all fresh and premium, which makes up for the fact that an entree and beverage is going to run you around $10. But don't be cheap. This is good food served by great, hard-working people. Not fast food or "subway" alternative. My elderly uncle loves it here. Relatively quiet and "homey" atmosphere.

Never even ordered! I walked in, no one else in line, asked for a Ruben. The gal rudely pointed at the phone and said she needed to call a customer then yelled for someone else to come take my order. Dude shows up, looks at the hipster that walked in after me and the other two gentlemen with me, who said I have a phone order. Dude looks at me and said can you wait until I help him. I turn to my friends and said Carls JR it is. I guess the one order that walked in after three is more important than the three. Money ahead I think. Moral of this story VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Oh my gosh! Their food is to die for. By far my favorite sandwich place! You won't regret eating here. The portions are generous and the food is always fresh. The price is good. I just wish they had better hours. We are rarely in the area when they're open. It makes it hard to eat here often. Good for my waistline but not for their business haha.

I've lived in Boise for seven years and always wondered, "What's with the upside down sign deli place?". Well, I found out today. It is Uh-maz-ing! The food speaks for itself, but the service is what will keep me coming back! Not only did I meet George, I also met his lovely sister, Rosie. Along with a free chocolate chip cookie for us "kids," we got the whole back story of the deli and Mama Erma's restaurant. Such a great place!
But back to the food.... that bread.... oh, my! Soooo good!!! I can't wait to try more on the menu. That chocolate chip cookie was easily the best I've ever had (sorry, Mom)!

Deli George is the best sandwich spot in town. The Boise food scene can oftentimes feel lacking, but it is not lacking in the area of delis thanks to the fantastic Deli George. One of my wife and I d favorite spots in town. Highly recommend!

Just left here. First time and won't be my last. I had the Slow Cooked Brisket Sandwich.... it's five star worthy, it could've had some type of BBQ sauce on it though! I'm from the south so!

I was not impressed with the New York, New York sandwich. The deli mustard was to horseradish tasting. I asked if they could make another one and they did, which was awesome of them. So the customer service is great. The pastrami has to much of a basil taste, which I'm not a fan of. I'll go back but do something more traditional next time.

The open sign was still on but 5 minutes after closing time I walked in and the gentlemen behind the counter offered to make a cold sandwich for me awesome customer service y all should defiantly check this place out not only is it good customer service it s great food

Deli George has always given fantastic service. Ever since my first visit to their store that was originally on Fairview I have always received exceptional food and service. Keep up the good work!

Only thing good here is their meat is smoked. Overpriced and marginal quality.

The food and atmosphere was great! Lots of choices on the menu. I also liked liked that they had a giant container of plain water, but with lemon and cucumber infused as an option for just having water. Everyone was so nice. The only thing I'd say is I paid 8-9 dollars for my sandwich and it didn't come with anything at all, just the sandwich. Otherwise, can't complain.

I was so pleasantly surprised and overwhelmed! I had never been in before and made a last minute decision to stop by. We got the chicken focaccia and the malibu chicken sandwich. The bread was fresh, the chicken juicy, the pesto delicious and the honey mustard divine! I will be going back and I am so glad I know about this local gem.

By far the best gourmet deli sandwich and great selection of choice meets I have had. Being raised in the Chicago area that says a lot. A must have for everyone.
