Deaf Action is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. The organization was founded with the goal of providing support, advocacy, and education to individuals who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.
At Deaf Action, we believe that everyone deserves equal access to information, services, and opportunities. We work tirelessly to ensure that our clients have access to the resources they need in order to live full and meaningful lives.
Our Services
We offer a wide range of services designed specifically for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals. These include:
Advocacy: We advocate on behalf of our clients in order to ensure that their rights are protected. This includes advocating for equal access to education, employment opportunities, healthcare services, and more.
Counseling: Our counseling services are designed specifically for Deaf individuals who may be struggling with mental health issues such as depression or anxiety.
Education: We provide educational resources on a variety of topics related to deafness including communication strategies, assistive technology options, legal rights and more.
Employment Services: Our employment services help connect job seekers who are deaf or hard-of-hearing with employers who value diversity in their workforce.
Community Outreach: We work closely with local communities in order to raise awareness about issues affecting the deaf community. This includes hosting events such as workshops on sign language interpretation or cultural sensitivity training sessions for businesses.
