This cafe breathes music and atmosphere! Hessel is a household name and not only on Terschelling!

Delicious eaten here. The conservatory outside is also a nice place. Unfortunately I could not see a performance, that was already fully booked. Still recommended.

Nice place, delicious food, a bit too busy inside at night.

In previous years, we went here at (festival-)nights to enjoy live music and a drink or two. Nowadays, we go here during the days (with kids) to enjoy some uniquely great apple pie. You did not see all of Terschelling if you did not visit this place.

Delicious coffee drunk with a cookie in the shape of Terschelling! In the evening we reserved a table in the restaurant where we had a wonderful dinner. Later in the evening Hessel & Tess performed and we were in first rank. Worth repeating and highly recommended. The highlight is just a picture with Hessel & Tess

Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere; often with live music.

After a grueling bike ride in the rain, stopped here for a cup of tea and coffee. The stove was on, the staff was super friendly. The atmosphere is very pleasant and cozy.

Had a great evening with live music from Hessel and Tess. Good atmosphere. Really recommended if you are on Terschelling.

Good music, Hessel brings it very nice. Friendly and helpful staff. Fine specialty beer. Just a pity that they serve Heineken, the Wadden Sea is an even better alternative.

If you are now on Terschelling, then you must have been in the eatery of Hessel. Hessel is a household name on Terschelling, but he also seems to have a large fan base in North Holland. If I have not yet put it clearly, Hessel sings. And he occasionally takes his daughter Tess with him.

Hessel is the owner of eatery De Groene Weide and sings on a stage in his own tent just about every night. The whole of Terschelling runs from 16 to 86 years and everything in between.

If not Terchellinger you are initially, in my opinion, a bit lost, but soon no one cares anymore.

If you come to eat, in our case with a large group, then you shouldn't be surprised that when you've just finished eating, the tables are pulled under your nose to make room for a dance floor.

In short, a wonderful evening of entertainment in your own country!

We arrived quite late but were still treated to a good meal. The daily snack, with basic ingredients, but very expertly prepared, really delicious for a very reasonable price. And very nice service. To be repeated.

This pub is of course legendary because of the owner to and now infamous Hessel. I have not been here in the evening so not at a concert of him and his daughter. During the day you can enjoy delicious food or just enjoy a good cup of coffee. A must if you make a bike ride on the island of Terschelling.

Definitely worth a visit. You see the love for music and the island.
Is really just too expensive. I think 8 euros for an old cheese sandwich with a little lettuce and what was called chutney was drunk. There is not yet 1.50 ex VAT of product on my plate. 6.75 would have been very reasonable. Was fine cheese, it is not the product.
Sorry, Horeca, don't waste your beautiful place now. People have just started going out. Milking out sucks.

Walked in here during a rain shower while walking around the island. It turned out to be the home of Hessel, the famous singer from Terschelling. Coincidentally, he also came by himself. Nice cafe with pleasant service.

In one of the most beautiful, rustic villages of Terschelling with a good map, beautiful terrace and performances by Hessel!

Delicious farm omelette and smoked meat. Very cozy on the outside terrace.

Ambiance: Easy to sit outside, large pub inside.
Service: Fast, alert, non-intrusive.
Food: Nice sandwiches, soups and drinks card in the afternoon.
Drink: Good draft beer, unfortunately Hertog Jan (because unfortunately InBev).

The apple pie has been tastier in the past.
The price 4.60 for a piece of apple pie with whipped cream is on the high side.
