History
DBS Bank was founded as The Development Bank of Singapore Limited (DBS) on July 16th, 1968 by the Government of Singapore. The bank was established with the aim of financing Singapore's industrialisation efforts and promoting economic growth.
Over the years, DBS Bank has grown from strength to strength and today it is one of Asia's leading banks. In 1998, DBS merged with POSBank (Post Office Savings Bank) which gave it access to a wider customer base. In 2003, DBS acquired Dao Heng Bank Group which expanded its operations into Hong Kong SAR and China.
