I gave 1 star only cause zero stars were not an option. Day Kimball Hospital refused my husband the care he needed because he had covid. He went to er severely dehydrated from vomiting for 4 days and high fever and they sent him after 10 minutes said don't come back unless your lips are blue. They didnt give fluids. 2 days later I jad to beg them to give him IV fluids. He was so weak, his o2 sat was 90 and he had pnuemonia. They sent him home after giving him the fluids. They refused to do anything for him. I asked them for steroids to open up breathing they refused. They sent him home to die. If it wasnt for Hartford Doctor stepping in to help he would have died. Day Kimball didnt care. If you have covid dont go there cause they'll nudge you into the grave. This is third time they have treated us so poorly. Never again! Writing this as warning in hopes of saving your life do NOT go there for care. We have very good insurance it was not a money issue. It was they don't care about people issue.

They only have 2stars for a reason. I wish I never came here to deliver my baby. The nurses here are awful and do not care about you

I was positive for a Covid test and they never notified me!!! Ended up almost dying 6 days later. They suck!!

I needed my gallbladder removed. I was waiting on a consult from a surgeon, but the severe pain, and vomiting was too much. I went to the ER. They did a CT and told me, rudely, that my gallbladder wasn t too bad, treated me like a drug seeker and sent me home. I could barely walk. I went to Backus. They immediately admitted me. Treated my pain, and nausea, and removed my gallbladder the next day. My gallbladder was the size of a mango. Horrible treatment at this ER. Horrible. Horrible.

I had blood drawn in the lab in Sept and Oct 2020. The first bill I received for this was on Dec 23, 2019, with a statement date of December 19, 2020. It said if I paid the bill by January 18, 2021, I would receive a discount for paying early/on-time. I paid in full on January 8, 2021. Meaning, I paid the bill 16 days after receiving it. However, I received a phone call on January 12, 2021, asking me for their money and threatening sending it to collections. I understand that my payment was in route when they called me, but I paid the bill 16 days after I received it. It's completely uncalled for to call someone and threaten collections when even the statement date is only a few weeks old. When I expressed all of this to the person calling me, she simply just repeated that payment had still not been received. Really!?

Tried to get EKG scheduled and faxed them 3 times the scheduling department said never got it, too many hoops to jump through waiting over a week and nothing? Went to Harrington Hospital and had everything done in an hour including the results sent to my doctor. Day kimball needs to kick it up a few notches and get with the program!!! So don t go there, very disappointed!

The staff was phenomenal! They were friendly, attentive, personable, and extremely knowledgeable. I am glad they were there and they made this experience even more amazing- they made my stay feel like it was a second home.

I wholeheartedly recommend the DKH birthing center.

I went into the ER for severe abdominal pain that had lasted over 19 hours. I was tested quite a lot, and no one came to speak to me about these tests or the results until I was being discharged. I went in at 6:30pm, was discharged at 2am with the wrong paperwork, which stated I was discharged at 12:30am, even though the paper was printed at 1:40, and I didn't get it until after 2. I was treated like a drug seeker (one nurse came in to ask if I wanted pain medication at least 6 times before I agreed to taking it, specifying I wanted non-narcotic) and talked down to when they said there was "nothing wrong with me". Went elsewhere to be seen, turns out I had an intestinal blockage that would have ruptured my insides. Not my first bad experience at this hospital. Even in an emergency I will avoid this place at all costs.

The one star is being generous and only goes to the one nurse out of the 3 that assist you who is actually kind and friendly. I have gone here a handful of times and each time, it is more than 3 hours regardless of what your problem is. Very unprofessional how each doctor and nurse thinks the other already did something that they never did. You are there forever just for them to run ONE test, see nothing wrong and send you home instead of looking for a cause to your issue. I went home every time without a diagnosis or anything useful, just guesses and try this.

Clearly they think you are there to waste their time and just decide to go there to waste your money. All the nurses walk around and talk about patients like they are numbers and are extremely rude when you call them even when THEY TELL YOU TO CALL THEM WHEN YOU RETURN.

I have played a constant game of please refer to your primary care doctor then my doctor referring me to go there if xyz happens. If I can suggest anything further about this hospital, its TO GO TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL REGARDLESS OF HOW FAR IT IS.
