The New York afternoon tea is delicious and all the jam and cream and scone's are fresh the cakes are sweat and delicious and the hot chocolates are fantastic I would recommend it...

The lunches and cakes are very nice but the service can be a bit slow if you are in a hurry

Amazing afternoon tea. They made me a vegan and gluten free version, and it was delicious. Avocado and sweet chilli and falafel sandwiches, carrot and walnut slaw, beetroot, cinnamon cake, chocolate cake and a Victoria sponge. Absolutely stuffed!

Great food as always. A little slow service today. Seemed a little short staffed given graduation week.

I love this place it has a relaxed atmosphere, everything is home made and fresh. The staff are really friendly it's a little gem.

Spent a warm afternoon in cosy courtyard garden, enjoying lovely fresh sandwiches , gorgeous homemade cakes and coffee. An enjoyable visit . Very friendly and welcoming staff.

I've just been here for the first time, and am so impressed. My friend and I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea with a variety of sandwiches, amazing cakes and a very tasty scone (with jam and cream of course!). It was extremely good value More

Visited twice now, lovely, cozy cafe with delicious food, polite and friendly staff, and reasonable prices! A vertiable hidden gem, given its unassuming exterior.

It was the nicest cream tea we've had. We could choose our own sandwiches and they were all delicious. The home made cakes were fabulous. The staff & service were also spot on. We're proud to support local business.

Yesterday my first grocery box from Cuthberts was delivered. Plenty of everything and as fresh as can be.

I added a lemon drizzle cake which was amazing.

I will definitely use again, it's great to be able to support an independent local business but even better to get great service and beautiful produce.

Give them a try, Ill be adding pastries as well as cake to my next one.

A group of 6 friends had an excellent classic afternoon tea after visiting the terracotta warriors exhibition. Everything was delicious and the staff were lovely.
We've decided to make a special trip back to Liverpool to try the New Yorker tea. Thanks for a warm welcome on a bitterly cold day

Incredible food and cake selection, dirty fries and halloumi bagel was 10/10!

Came for my mum's birthday was absolutely fantastic. The sevicexwas amazing and friendly and the food delicious.

For an excellent high tea you are at the right place at Cuthbert. Do discuss at weekends, usually full.

I was really disappointed in Cuthberts when I visited. My daughter had arranged an afternoon tea for my birthday and we were both looking forward to the experience but oh what a shame. The staff could not of given a stuff about us. Very poor customer service. We were pointed to our table and left to wait for 20 minutes with no explanation of what was happening. Luckily the food was delicious but the staff need a course in getting a personality.

My husband ordered gluten free afternoon tea for my birthday to take away, it was absolutely gorgeous, I would highly recommend, also the happy birthday message on the box was such a lovely touch, we will definitely be back for sure.

Massively disappointed won't be returning for a while

Horrible service!! Sat down for 10 mins with absolutely no acknowledgement, then told us the kitchen is closed. Do not ever come here!

...cosy...might need to book..would prefer more softer cream cake selection...

Highly recommend Cuthburt's Bakehouse ordered a special birthday treat for one of my friends to be delivered food and presentation was beautiful and they went the extra mile to put some birthday messages on too staff were lovely. If your looking for afternoon tea in Liverpool you will not get better!!!

I ordered a red velvet whole cake for my birthday. Totally recommend it, the cake looked just beautiful, and the smell was just magnificent. If you want to have a whole cake for take out, you will have to make the order at least a day before (sometimes they have to make sure if their bakery is available) And I am guessing they don t get this kind of order a lot, (so be ready if they don t have proper carrier bags ;p) The ladies there were lovely, I bet the service there is nice too. I would definitely go back to try their afternoon tea next time.

I was in town on Saturday and recommended Cuthberts as a place for lunch to my friend who had never been. We entered, were greeted and sat down at a table. The waitress came and took our orders, and shortly brought out our drinks. My friend ordered the soup of the day, and I ordered a goats cheese and caramelised onion toastie. After around 20 minutes - a reasonable time to wait, they brought out the soup of the day. I waited eagerly for my toastie... nowhere to be seen. Across from us the people who ordered after us started to receive their food. I stopped a waitress and reminded her I was still waiting for my toastie. She went to check and came back to tell me that sometimes things get lost between upstairs, and the kitchen downstairs. I think there may have been an apology in there somewhere but she didn t seem very concerned. A whole 45 minutes after my friends soup had come out - about 30 minutes after I had reminded the waitress I was missing my order, I received a sad looking untoasted sandwich with a few chips on the side and a bit of lettuce. Definitely not an hours worth of hard work from the chefs. I was extremely surprised by how casual the staff acted about this, and was embarrassed in front of my friend, as he felt very awkward slowly eating his soup for the 45 minutes that I was waiting for my order. I was also disgusted that after such poor service, nothing was even taken off the bill. I recommended Cuthberts because I had been for food before and it was lovely, but after this service I can assure you that I shall not be returning. Honestly the worst service I ve ever had at a restaurant.

I had a surprise hen do here and the cream tea was amazing! Quaint and cozy we had a very relaxed afternoon. Free refills of different teas allowed us to try both the coffee/ hot chocolate/ various teas. We had a vegan, and also someone with a peanut allergy and they were able to cater to all our needs. Highly recommend!

Just had afternoon tea delivered from Cuthberts, ordered by friends for my Birthday, never had a nicer afternoon tea selection anywhere, delivered with a lovely Birthday message...if I could give Cuthberts six stars I would.

Lovely traditional tea shop in the heart of Liverpool old town.

Amazing. All the food is homemade, imaginative, tasty and you don't go away feeling hungry. They even put what we couldn't eat in a box to take home.

A really cute small place. Their cakes were quite pretty and the staff was really helpful despite the fact that I didn't think to put in a pre emotive request. Also, the staff member I spoke with was really friendly and held up a fun casual conversation while I was choosing my cake.

Lovely little tea room and a popular choice and a nice place for a cozy catch up with friends or celebration. Booking definitely recommended. If you are with someone with hearing impairment don't sit in the back. When there are large groups it can be quite noisy. The unlimited tea is unlimited hot water on the tea and even when its fresh it's not that strong (but we do like a builders brew). The vegan afternoon tea was ok, the cauliflower and houmous is really nice otherwise rather bland and not great value. The New Yorker was a bad choice. The classic did look far better value and if we went again would opt for that. Scones are good

Wonderful cakes and one of our favourite places for afternoon tea

This was our first and only tea. As Canadian tourists we were easily addicted. Improve the quality of your life at Cuthbert's. Thank you for serving us high tea without a reservation. My kids loved the fruity tea.

Lovely food , very helpful staff . I had veggy option and there was plenty of sandwiches and cakes beautifully presented . There is a good range of tea in pots with China cups and /or Prosecc reasonably priced. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that it was a bit chilly and No heating .That said we were sitting by the door and there is a room at the back of the shop which was much warmer !

A great place for cupcakes and tea, if that's what you're into! Their coffee is good as well, and their sandwich menu is delightful. The chicken and bacon rustic roll is a staple choice of mine!
