Cusack Care Center Review

This place has horrible nurses and aides with no bedside manners. They actually encouraged my girlfriend's mom to "next time just go on the bed" after she complained because after calling out for assistance and using the emergency call button nobody came until almost 2 hours had passed. In addition her phone was stolen by staff and then mysteriously reappeared after we created a scene. Multiple issues, concerns and observations have been brought to the attention of the officials in charge and nothing has been done to address health and safety concerns.

I sleep well at night knowing my mother is in great hands at Peace Care St. Joseph's. The staff is caring and attentive and the facility is immaculate. It is a true family atmosphere. I highly recommend Peace Care St. Joseph's for both short and long term care. God Bless the staff. They are wonderful!

Nurses here don't know what they're doing.

When I worked as an EMT and picked up a patient the nurses said "the patient is okay. She has swelling in her arm.... I think." I walked over to the patient and she had edema in her legs and had crackles in the lungs.... Which were serious signs of congestive heart failure.

I don't know if it's just something here or in all places but wow... Another time they legitimately couldn't find a patient's chart when we went to pick up a patient. Very disorganized as well.

This place is horrible. My husband went there due to a stroke. I left him a package and it hot lost. They found it the next day in someone else's room. Then they made an appointment for a vascular doctor in passaic where I had to accompany him. When we got there the doctor didnt know why we were there. She asked me who sent me and she said she never heardnofbthe place and doesn't deal with them. The technician who takes the tests wasn't there that day so we went there for nothing. This place does not know what they are doing. My husband could walk before bbn he went there and now he doesnt. All they did for him was given him addictive medication. No wonder he had no motivation. They also put him in a diaper. It's funny, he made it to the bathroom when he was home. My husband called me one night because he was in pain. Right away they gave him pain medication. Come to find out, he had a urinary infection. Before you throw pain medication in someones mouth, find out where the pain is. They do not care about the patients. Many times I had to call up and tell them to bring him water. My husband told me he was not being treated well but being new to this i thought he was exaggerating. My husband is coming home today worse than he went in. I'm only hoping that I can put him in a place where they can help him. I had to call the rehab department to find out what progress he was making. The therapist told me that he was depressed and not motivated which when I told the social worker he told me he didn't know about it. This place is poorly run and they do not care about the patients. If I could, I would give bbn this a negative star.

My mother was so over medicated, the nursing staff medicated her so much, she was worse off coming out than going in. The social worker was not professional, I had to get other social workers to get me an official discharge months later even after I went there and spoke personally requesting the official discharge. My mother's SSI was withheld 3 months. I had to do so much footwork to fix the problem because they had her still as a resident after discharge. I got a call that the neighbor next to the facilty witnessed my mother being hit. That was squashed. No police report filed, but I was notified by them. I can't recommend this facility. Over medication to patients, nurses sitting down flipping papers, and dispensing meds over and over does not make for professional care. Very disappointed.

I used to work at peace care some of the nurses are horrible. They dont care about the residents. They give the medication and keep it moving. The place is ran by a horrible director of nursing. She is racist and cruel. And her assistant is even worse. They only come together when the state comes around. The CNAs'are the backbone of peace care

It's a tough job but the staff do well to patients and resident's there for the most part.

Nice place, they celebrate all the holidays giving to our love ones a great time

Keep your loved ones out of this place!!! Staff talks about patients and directors/supervisors horrible and only nice to your loved ones when we are around but if they left alone just horrible.
