What a pleasant surprise awaited us here at the Croyde Bay Holiday Resort. Don't be put off by the words Holiday Resort. . This most definitely is no Hi De Hi camp. The accommodation is 1st class, food excellent and location superb.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel. I have stayed twice, once in the hotel and once in the shalleys. It was only a minute or so from the beach so was in an ideal position for people in Croyde for the bay. The rooms were nice with comfortable beds and wifi (if your willing to pay). There was also free wifi in the bar. It has a nice swimming pool, gym, steam room and sauna all if which is well maintained. The entertainment is fun and i enjoyed the food they served. The shalley's kitchen was also up to scratch. The actual area in croyde is very nice as is the whole village but is getting more touristy.

We stayed in the 'hotel', which was ok for a short stay. The room was a little dated and could have been cleaner (peanuts on the floor and the crockery was filthy). Nice pool area, although the water was a little cool, but then I like it like a bath! Very children friendly, especially for the younger ones. Pleasant and helpful staff.

I stayed in 2011 when the new hotel had just opened . The break had been organised by welfare and it was a break after a very difficult year, all I can say is job well done, I had a fantastic time, job well done team.

We have just come back from staying here for the weekend. 10/11 July . Check in and payment was sorted by phone a couple of days before. When we arrived it was a one way system to collect our keys from reception. We stayed in one of garden rooms. It was very clean and well stocked. It overlooked the playing field which was set up with a football area, volleyball net. Cornhole and table tennis. This area and equipment were cleaned regularly by the staff.
It was a quick walk over the sand dunes to the beach.

Accommodation in hotel, service and food excellent. Staff pleasant and went out of their way to help with a group booking for 10. Perfect for all ages and a lovely family holiday enjoyed by all in a safe, beautiful environment. Activities, restaurant and bars located close to accommodation, so no long treks between. We found half board to be good value and buffet style meals suited everyone. Grounds looked immaculate and litter free.

We stayed in a holiday chalet which can sleep up to six people. It was nicely furnished with brand new furniture. The kitchen was well stocked with every piece of equipment one would need for their stay. Would highly recommend.

Super clean and neat with excellent facilities and friendly staff. Only a couple of minutes to the beach and at the quieter end so you're not too wrapped up with the beach crowds. Perfect for kids and adults. We had a great holiday and will recommend it to our friends!

Workers playground! Relaxing place, welcoming and helpful staff. Plenty to do for young and old alike. Easy walk to the beach (but quite a climb back, so be prepared). Covid preparations seem to be good, sensible precautions. Bring a mask for communal areas and respect the staff.

Stayed at the lowest possible price point in the year. Six lodges were rented over the three days by friends and relatives to celebrate a 60th birthday.
The lodges are new and well equipped. Couldn't fault the accommodation at all 5* for that.
Staff who operated the bar for the party were extremely helpful and friendly.
But trying to sort out where to put the general waste was not straightforward.
Found plenty of
'Mixed Recyclables'.
Luckily found a member of staff who took it from me.
(Not the usual tourist season, so, can't be 100% sure what will be in place when it is busy.
Also, in the Lodges, there are containers for food waste, accompanied by the necessary compostible liners, but no main site skips/bins available to deposit the food waste. As I live locally I took it with me to deposit in kerbside caddy at home)
There is an indoor swimming pool that adults and children in our group used. All enjoyed their splash.

Having said all that, is it a holiday destination? DEFINITELY - Croyde is a charming village. Plenty of local walks. Short drive out of the village to reach other parts of North Devon.

Updated oct 2018: new reception area. Free wifi, new gym equipment and longer opening hours plus many new 3/4 bed chalets. Staff always friendly and helpful. Breakfasts and eve meals gone up in quality.
Holiday village complex about half mile from Croyde village and next to dunes at s end of bay.
"Cottages" and hotel for accom. Atlantic cottage sleeps up to 6 and has lounge/diner , kitchen, 2 bathrooms (showers only), 2 bedrooms (some are bunk beds and dbles, others are twins) and a pic-nic table outside.
Gym, indoor pool, restaurant, bar, games, tennis and parking all on site.
Great for visiting the beach and surfing. Unison members get discount.

Great location and lovely accommodation. We stayed in the "Atlantic" chalets - well furnished with TVs and DVD player. Great bathrooms and facilities. We stayed off season, so there wasn't that much on in terms of activities, but the indoor pool, playground, and mini-golf were well-used. Food is pricey, but self-catering helps. The beach is a small walk away, but lovely.

We found this place to be perfect for our stay. Room was clean and spacious (family room) and staff were exceptional, friendly and helpful. Food was fine, good portions and breakfast was of a good standard. Close to the beach, an indoor pool, small gym and outdoor play activities / tennis court. In warmer weather surf/body boards and related equipment can be hired from the shop online. Watch the spaghetti bolognese...it does contain quorn which my friend is allergic to and resulted in an interesting evening!

I have stayed at the Unison Croyde Bay Holiday Resort several times. I've always had an enjoyable time, the accommodation on offer is fantastic. You can choose between a hotel room, a self contained unit or a (recently built) luxury Lodge. I have used all three of these and have enjoyed my stay in each one. The Lodge feels extremely spacious and has a family bathroom as also an ensuite bathroom. There is a large family area as well as a terrace, where you can eat or sun bathe on.
The site has facilities on offer, the indoor swimming pool is great for children and adults, with the added bonus of a sauna and hot tub. There is also a small gym if you would like to exercise. There is also a 'games' room, tennis court, garden bowls and during school holidays they put on regular children's clubs /activities.
The location of the site is great, being a few minutes walk to the beach (over sand dunes).
I look forward to staying here again in the future.

It is what it is, breakfast self serve was good, the meal nights like all you can eat curry were slow, not good quality and miss managed completely, entertainment was so so, to young at times and very quiet, no more agadoo please....... Lol rooms were clean, kettle was manky with no filter, limited teas, nice views in my room, some stuff to do but not much really, you'll need to go out n about too, pool was nice, not too busy, steam room works intermittently and sauna too cool for us.
