Take the family. It was a beautiful feeling seeing other cultures learning about African Americans.
Take the family. It was a beautiful feeling seeing other cultures learning about African Americans.
Traveling from Louisiana to California on a business trip. First time here and had a great time. Looking forward to coming back soon.
What an experience! Some of the most insightful exhibits I've seen in any museum. I felt connected to each artist and their works
Absolutely amazing! And the Mamie exhibit is something that needs to be visited by everyone in the world especially those who dont believe "past" racial atrocities have a vital impact on the world we live in today
I went here for one of their event opening. They have DJs outside and inside the building, two food trucks, and of course the art exhibit. My experience was great so far. The building was beautiful.
Always evolving. Great CAAM exhibit right now, science exhibit as well.
Excellent art exhibits although more history would be nice!
Loved it every exhibit was refreshing.
Yes I would recommend a must come
& see.
A lot of exhibits are specific to African American culture on the west coast. I am grateful for this in my neighborhood as it is changing and needs to be remembered.
A must place to spend some time. Great staff. Nice exhibits
HAD A BLAST .... RELIVED A LOT OF MEMORIES HERE IN LOS ANGELES.
Attended a great event host by the Black Business Association 6/19/2018.
Exhibit could be alot about African American culture seems as though people do not research anything there.
I visit Exposition Park a lot an l
try to visit this Museum when I do.
Being Afro-American, I love to see
current as well as past contributions by my people.
Loved it my son and his friend had a good time. They also had to write an essay on the museum and what they liked about it.
Very disappointed, poor representation of black history, lacked educational value.
Lots of interesting history behind each artwork, I wish it were a bit larger though! It only took me and my family about 15 minutes to stroll through.
Small installation but had very interesting exhibits.
Wow there is so much African American history in Los Angeles. Museum does a great job highlighting it
A gem in LA. Something for everyone. Great exhibits that will evoke thought and emotion. Also they host performances. The staff was
If ultra friendly.
Excellent museum, my favorite in Los Angeles. I learn something new every time I go. The exhibits are exciting and fresh. The people are friendly, facilities are clean and welcoming. My family, friends and new acquaintances I meet at events make visiting CAAM an unforgettable experience each time.
Nice place to take young children to explore and learn about black history.
It's the same as every African American museum a big sob story.
Wonderful art I love art especially African American art I love to see my people. I know more about my history. I was surprised that it's free.
It was really nice and had informative art and artifacts pertaining to African American history.
Very informative and beautiful art pieces I will return.
The birth of gospel in California exhibit was really nice. The rest was mostly artwork.
There has been many upgrades made to this fascinating African-American Museum. Please visit
One of the best museums in Southern California for the culture of African American Descendants and anyone who wants insights into the culture.
Excellent experience for children. Just you have to go and see.
The CAAM is alive and provides plenty of room to breathe freely. The building itself, the plaza, the whole exposition park is a sight to see.
EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT! Always wonderful to visit this space! There are always interesting and informative exhibits and programs running here.
Thought provoking exhibit on the history of people of color in Los Angeles, and relation to law enforcement. Art exhibits are diverse, interesting, and beautiful! Free admission, a MUST see!
The D.C. AA Museum is much more advanced. I would like more representation in this museum of medical and everyday advances contributed to society by African Americans. I would like less vulgarity through the Hip Hop display, I enjoy the historical content and push for 1st Amend Right. But, the display is glorification undefined which results in confusion
My first time visiting California African American Museum and I had so much fun. First thing you need to know is that they don`t have parking lot, so you will have to find parking on near by streets. The place is very busy, so prepare to stay in line specially if you go on weekend. They do have express lane if you purchase the tickets on their website.
The museum is free! The exhibits are very interesting and changed regularly. There is usually someone available to answer questions about the exhibits and the artists.
Attended the "no justice, no peace" exhibition. It was a harrowing, sobering experience, beautifully curated. KCRW was hosting so they had the dope tunes and the merch table set up, along with the food trucks which made our visit truly worth while.
Bring back memories of love, that is on a portrait but they're still here, you just got to look within putting God first.Amen! .
I'd never been, so decided to traipse down to Exposition Park to visit this museum. The staff was lovely and greeted me so nicely as I entered. Only two galleries were open with two contemporary artist's work. I enjoyed checking them out. Nice high ceilings. Entrance is free, but parking is $12.00. On a nice day it is pleasant to walk around the park and maybe take a light lunch at the Science Museum or from a vendor selling snacks by that museum
Its free but chexk exhibts before you go with kids some are not really that kid friendly. My 11 yr. daughter was bored till we got to the abstract art.
This Museum needs more support, not from just the state ! Bring back the curators who have knowledge, experience, and ability to raise funds !! This Museum was great before ten years ago and should have remained that way !
