We do this by offering compassionate care and support through our crisis hotline (1-800-273-TALK), walk-in counseling services, group therapy sessions, and educational programs. Our goal is not only to help individuals overcome their immediate challenges but also equip them with the tools they need for long-term success.
One of the unique aspects of our center is our focus on suicide prevention. Suicide rates have been on the rise in recent years across the United States – particularly among young people. At the Baton Rouge Crisis Intervention Center, we take this issue seriously and have implemented several initiatives aimed at reducing suicide rates in our community.
We offer free suicide prevention training for schools, businesses, churches – anyone who wants it! Our training program teaches participants how to recognize warning signs of suicidal behavior as well as how best respond when someone they know may be at risk for self-harm or suicide.
In addition to our focus on suicide prevention efforts within our community - we also work closely with local law enforcement agencies during crises situations such as natural disasters or mass shootings where there may be an increased risk for suicidal behavior among survivors.
