Horrible Service. High prices. Rude & liar manager. I am so disappointed.
Some of the best octopus and bisque served in a sourdough bowl I have ever had topped off with fantastic views overlooking La Jolla.
Amazing service, great food, and the view. Great prices for what we received!
It seems that this place is never really busy but the food was great. The bartender from New Hampsha was really sweet. She made great recommendations on the menu and made a great Martini. I want to say her name was Danny. The view and the access up the park and the cave is a bonus
I'm very close to giving them 4 stars, but it's insanely overpriced.
I ate lunch their with friends because we had a $60 for $100 GroupOn voucher. Between 3 people, 3 plates, 2 appetizers, 3 alcoholic beverages, the bill came out to $205.
The ocean view and cool breeze makes it comfortable and can be a romantic experience.
The food is good, not amazing. Ahi tacos, spicy shrimp and grits were delicious. The crab BLT was good too.
The food was decent, however the choice in music could have been better. The smells were everything but desirable my favorite scent was the smell of rotting fish really tied the place together. The restaurant is great for locals and has good food but the music and the smells take it down two stars. Will come again if there smells improve.
Their seafood platter is very good. Our server richard is the nicest
Over priced and really poor quality, not well prepared
Bland and tasteless Sauces and dressings on salads.
Service marginal as well. Tables are crammed together.
Would not recommend
This is where upper middle class people eat because they have extra money from buying a Toyota instead of splurging on a Porsche. They need a place to dump their money on something mediocre it seems. Our service was pretty good, and thus the second star, but the food was average at best especially considering the price. My wife's seafood pasta smelled and tasted like BURNING PLASTIC (to me anyway, she just thought it was extra salty)! I did like that they had a several seafood options I haven't been able to find elsewhere, but I guess that's why they charge the high prices. Happy Hour is ONLY AVAILABLE AT ONE HALF OF THE RESTAURANT EVEN THOUGH THE ADVERTISING LEADS YOU TO BELIEVE OTHERWISE! I saw the sign in the attached pic, so I figured I'd order the beer on happy hour special. NOPE! Full price ($12 instead of $4). They also have the gumption to ADVERTISE FOR HAPPY HOUR IN A FLYER WHEN THEY GIVE YOU THE BILL even though you just ate on the "fine dining" side instead of the "casual bar" where you can supposedly ACTUALLY get happy hour. The waiter and hostess explained it to me exactly like this. But their advertising on the street AND AT THE DOOR say "Crab Catcher Restaurant" at the top and immediately go into Happy Hour deals. No distinction between the "two halves" of the business with two different systems. Others have commented on this oddity. False advertising and mediocre food. Tourist trap at best, dishonest business owners at worst. Go to Duke's just down the street instead, or literally across the street for sushi or Thai and spend 1/3 the money.
I like my food a little more seasoned, and just a little bigger proportions especially for the price!
This place is always at the top of my list to grab dinner when I travel to La Jolla. Always sit on the patio and never disappointing. I usually go with the daily special.
