This was the worst seafood I ve ever tried to eat. Fishy, dirty dish water cioppino and no salt used in anything. Glass of champagne was served in a glass with ice and a straw? Weird decor, horrible, odd 70 s music blasting. Save your money.

This place was fairly empty on a wednesday night. Service was good. The menu stated water and bread were available upon request, but they were offered without us requesting. We ordered the new york steak, citrus & garlic shrimp pasta, and jalepeno bacon cheddar polenta. The steak came out a perfect medium pink on a bed of brussel sprouts, chopped bacon and fingerlings. Pasta was in a creamy, tangy sauce base with about 4 or 5 tiger shrimps. Both dishes were delicious! The polenta was okay, nothing remarkable. The Groupon made this dinner truly worthwhile.

We got there right when it opened. So we were able to get a great spot, a table of our choice. Went with my friends and we shared plates to sample various dishes. The service was ab fab! The food was fire! It was certainly a wonderful memorable time.

We dined here on a beautiful day and the window table was awesome. The food was also great. But...our waiter Patrick got our order wrong. My wife ordered the Puerto Nuevo Lobster and received the full Main lobster ( a full $30 more). I ordered the grilled fish and received the stuffed fish ($4 more). I understand one dish miscommunication, but not both. The experience made a nice day out feel like we were cheated.

The food was way over priced for what it was. Spent over 600 on our meal and it was so not worth it. Waited over an hour for food and it was cold. Would not recommend it unless you want to spend a ton of money on something that is very mediocre

My family and I vacationed in La Jolla from Massachusetts and I have to say this place served us the best dinner of our week stay. We very much enjoyed our dinner and the service was great. I would recommend this restaurant.

I would have rated it higher if the service we received wasn t so confusing. We arrived at about 6pm without reservation, so had to have the dinner at their oyster bar. The view, decoration and the food were perfect and we liked them all. Except, we didn t have a plate for food, water wasn t refilled until we asked for, and had a dinner fork for dessert which was very inconvenient. I would call this confusing coz I m not sure if it s the regular service one should expect from an oyster bar . But it s not that enjoyable.

I really wanted to be more impressed with this place. I'm gonna say that they have GOOD food....not great just good. Their prices are some of the highest I have ever seen for seafood not to mention sub par sea food. The bread they bring is good sourdough, crispy and sour and totally good. I could tell the view would be nice if it were day time and the ambiance was very relaxing with all the wood outside on the patio and a very classy dining room on the inside. Other reviews warned that the fish was overcooked consistently and I did find the Halibut dish slightly overcooked but, not as bad as I would have expected. We also tried the Ahi Wonton Taco's which were great! Possibly the best dish we tried. The mussels were ok, the broth was amazing and we couldn't get enough of that but the mussels themselves were a little chewy and not very many tender in the bunch. Very dissapointing for sure. We also tried the calamari and again it wasn't horrible it was good but, I've had better for sure! We ended the night with a creme brulee and a tirimisu. The creme brulee was great, the strawberries were the perfect topping. The tirimisu I've had better but, it was decent. We used a Groupon and they said that to get the full 100$ amount we would have to spend 108$. Never heard that before with Groupon and it was not specified in the details which was really weird but, whatever. The service was great and our waiter was perfect in his approach and if the prices were cheaper I would consider coming here more I mean the crab legs are 72$!!! So, as it is I probably won't ever be back because I'm pretty sure there is better seafood for a much cheaper price around here.

I absolutely LOVE this place! When I am in La Jolla this is where we eat! Great food, good service and a bus boy who is always so welcoming! He smiles and takes care of you almost as much as your waiter! Great atmosphere!

This is a very cute restaurant right on the water. The entrance is a bit hidden and down two levels from the street, but the views from the table were breathtaking. We were in a little nook next to a window that looked out on the ocean and a rock that had a bunch of birds on it.

The food was excellent but expensive. The tiramisu was the best I've ever had.

the oyster shooters were okay, nothing great. There's a place called Fizz oyster bar in Escondido which had better oyster shooters. The half dozen oysters at Crabcatchers weren't bad, they were fairly small and there were shell fragments all over the oysters, so instead of just slurping it up, I had to clean it, and then carefully chew to insure a cut free throat. Oh and I had a shot of Kettle One vodka.. I was expecting 5-10 dollars for one shot, but to my surprise it was 15. Next time I'll sneak in my own flask.... anyway, I'll come back to try one of there signature dishes(heard the crab sandwich was a favorite among visitors), but I'll definitely try to stay away from the oysters and next time I'll hope for a better than average experience.

Server forgot my wife's Wine order and my drink order twice right from the beginning. $250 dollar meal, which I used gift cards from costco for $200 of and rest on credit card, and then our server crossed out the recommended tip amount. Kinda of annoying, like I dont know what 20% of the $250 is, I settled for 10% after the fact. I feel like that was generous as I would rate the service one star, but the meal was delicious and I hope the cooks get some recognition, albeit an hour+ after ordering because the server came to me 30 minutes after order after saying she forgot my order and apologized for the wait.. She also got called out by the table next to us wrong as well as she over charged them by a lot! Maybe she was having a bad day, but I probably wont be back.

The service is always the best! The lobster tail was a delight, the potatoes and veggies served with it were so yummy. My husband ALWAYS get the ciappino and raves that it is his favorite! Only disappointment was there was not a shrimp dish option without pasta or getting the combo for two. Prices seemed to have gone done quite a bit, much more reasonable options. Great date night always!

Make a reservation here. We had a table facing a view of the ocean. I had the Lobster Pappardelle pasta. It has a heavy cream. it tasted okay. I had the calamari for appetizer not so special. I think the service was great though.

To begin with our food took over an hour to arrive; well after other tables who ordered after we did had already received their food. This wouldn't have been an issue except we had our six month old daughter with us and not a word in apology was said by the wait staff; however, I must note that there was one busboy who was clearly in no way responsible, but visibly sorry for our predicament. Once the food did arrive it was as uninspiring as our waiter was indifferent. The $12 tomato soup was no better than what you would expect from a can, my $36 tuna steak was bland and tasteless, and my wife's $28 shrimp pasta contained only 4 very small pieces of shrimp that were overcooked to the point of being inedible. The one good thing that can be said about this establishment is the view from the window is very nice, and if we had been seated anywhere near it our excruciating wait time might have been less torturous.

For the price. It is terrible. Service is fine. Location is great. Food is small and not very good. $35 for a tiny piece of farm raised salmon. $30 for a pasta dish with a simple cream base and little thought. Flavor was not complex in the least and certainly
Was lacking.

This restaurant is in the beautiful town of La Jolla. This is my favorite restaurant on the west coast...Period! The food and drinks are great. The view is beautiful. Price is expensive $$$. Reservation is recommended for view seating. The hostess and waiters/waitresses are courteous professional and accommodating. The restaurant has a parking lot in back, but can be a challenge to find. Meter street parking and another lot in area. I will definitely return!

Great atmosphere and views! Had Brunch with free mimosa's. The wait staff wanted to be sure our visit and bday lunch was the best possible and went out of their way to ensure that it was! Food was very good!

We came on December, 31st 2017 and asked to be sat outside with that beautiful ocean view. We ask 2 bottles of Cabernet with our food. About 5 PM the waitress and manager told us we need to move to inside or reseal our wine and take it with us because we were part of the happy hours and they have a lot reservation for 5:30 PM. We are leaving now around 6:32 PM and only 2 tables out of 12 were taking, the rest including our table were totally empty. Very disappointed about the very unpreffesional way they treat customers. Not coming back for sure.

View is nice, but hostess wouldn't seat us at a smaller table as we requested. Overall this place feels pretentious to the point that it was a turnoff. Overall the food was so so, but we didn't find it to be a good value.
