Cozymel's Mexican Grill Review

Server was kind but extremely monotone. Not sure he wanted to be at work. Food is great and drinks as well!

Great food, great flavors and the drinks after awesome too the prices are not too bad as well... and hardly no wait time when i have gone. Went for mother's day and loved came back foot father's day and will go back again

Little cold in the inside. Wait staff was courteous. OK size portions for the price.

"This is perfect!" she said, "It's like the perfect summer meal." CozyMel's Mexican Grill in Westbury is a nice spot to get a good meal at a reasonable price. Nothing over the top, busy-ish. I thought it would be more crowded with more millennials chugging Mojitos and tequila shots on a Friday night. But it was about only half full and mostly families were seated. One baby was crying. Our waitress was very courteous and efficient, and our food came promptly. Everything was like a typical clockwork restaurant except we got seated under two A/C vents that kept dripping water down on to our table and in a couple cases into my guest's drink. Not cool. It's not like the place was packed. Attention to detail is such an art and consistency of that art critical in the transition from good to great.

Chipped tooth of really hard rice and beans DO NOT GO. In very bad pain

From the entrance hostess gave an attitude for no apparent reason.Food took forever to come & it was so bland. The Frozen mango margarita had a drop of alcohol in it because apparently they have a slushy machines with different type of margarita flavors. This place is dirty needs improvement i saw dust on the windows. Would not recommend just go to an authentic Mexican place where you will feel welcomed.

Great food reasonably priced. Even on a busy weekend you don't wait long to be seated. Which is saying a lot for its location.

Food is ok, asked for glass of water for my kids and hv got chlorine smelling tap water.

Worst Mexican food ever ... and the service very poor ... the only thing that was very good it s the corona beer.. chili s next door it s 10 X better.

Awful. They said they were short staffed. It was a Wed night at 6 pm. Ordered before the table next to us even came into the restaurant and they had their food first. Ours came out ice cold and aside from that it was probably mediocre at best.

Excellence all around! The service was timely and the food was well-seasoned and tasty. We got the booth we requested after a very brief wait and Kat was an excellent, pleasant and attentive Waitress. She checked in on us often, always asking if we needed anything more. We had two requests that were immediately, happily granted. Kat was very personable and because of her customer care, we will happily be back again. Thank you to The Cheesecake Factory for never responding to our Yelp Reservation request...you blew it forever for us being so cold and impersonal a mere twenty minutes earlier than our visit to Cozymel's.

great enchiladas, and meals for the group overall! the service could have been better but the atmosphere and lighting greatly made up for it. very good restaurant, I d recommend it especially to visitors such as myself.

Food - bland, soggy, easily the most underwhelming vs expensive "Mexican" food I've had. Fajitas came out with no sour cream, cheese, rice, anything. No salt on anything but the margarita glass.

Drinks - the margarita is made from a really terrible pre-mix. The beer tastes like the tap hadn't been cleaned. Sangria served in a Stella pint glass, beer served in a margarita glass.

Service - I wanted to leave this blank because it was non existent. We were seated immediately, and then waited about 15 minutes to even be made aware there was a waiter in our section - no water, chips, or anything before then. There weren't more than 10 tables occupied in the entire restaurant, but I had to flag a waiter down every time we needed something, no checking in at all.

For a better and more authentic Mexican dining experience, one need only go to Taco Bell and have a bottle of tequila in the parking lot.

The most bad and expensive food we have tasted and the horrible attention. First and last time. And the potatoes heated like on the microwave

This place used to be good. I haven t been here in over a year, I read reviews about how bad it s doing and I decided to still give it a try. I Brought a whole group of people who have never been here and I was embarrassed for suggesting such a bad food. Please save your time and money. Food is obviously not fresh, not good quality. Save yourselves the stomachache!

Quite possibly the worst "Mexican" food I've ever had. I at least expected a decent margarita since that appears to be their "thing." What I got was a watered down, sugary mix with salt that should have been on the food instead (seriously, I don't think they salt their food). Bland food, poor service, strange ambience (don't come here if you're looking for time away from kids). I now have a huge stomachache thanks to the food. Do not recommend.

WOW! This place has gone downhill... Dirty and way over priced

Not a bad place, but the food is not so tasteful as Mexican food should be. The beans were bland and both, the enchilladas and the tamales, were ok but far from unforgettable. The taco was a little better. On a side note, the service was excellent, quick and very attentive.

We waited to long just to be seated the service was not up to par.

Mexican food done fast. We ate there last night & realized about 1/2 way through dinner that we would have been better off getting drinks & munchies at the bar (which was hopping by the way). The waiter was curt & snide. The tableside guac was warm and bland would be generous and the dinners were just dreadful. The drinks were good (but then again, they're hard to screw up aren't they). Do yourself a favor & look around for options before considering a tex mex or mexican night out at this place. Unless you simply want fast and bland.

Staff was very friendly. Decor was nice. Drink specials and specialty drinks were off the chain.

Great Mexican food. Big plates! Highly recommend the guacamole as a starter, will be prepared at your table.

Some of the friendliest staff for any restaurant in the area. All the dishes on the menu are great, but I'm particularly partial to the fajitas: truly great quality for a chain restaurant. Plus the desserts! Again, literally everything on the menu is simply WOW!

Food was incredibly bland. They have a roaring fireplace even though it's sweltering inside. Only good thing about the place are the margaritas.

This place is one of my family's favorite restaurants. The food is always great, and the chips, salsa, and tableside guacamole are easily among the best I've had. Food usually comes out pretty fast, but I would recommend an appetizer because sometimes (rarely) you may have to wait just a little bit.

I get there 20 minutes later to be greeted by her. She says your brittany right!? You can pick up your order at the bar. I go to the bar where I am greeted by James who tells me the hostess never gave him the order!?

Obviously I m annoyed now and rightfully so. The Hostess just looks at me with a blank look, no apology nothing. He states it will be discounted. Rings it in and gets a manager to discount it.

The manager comes over and says a brief apology and discounts it 10 dollars.

I m sorry but with having worked in a restaurant this is just unacceptable. Hostess should know the menu and when taking a order it should be completed. I don t plan on returning.

Great service terrible food. We had cheese ans chorizo, terrible. It was microwaved, not good chorizo bad cheese. We had carne azada, bad, bad refried beans, terrible rice. The potatos were ok.

Food so blah that it almost taste like paper. Drinks so watered down that I hardly got a little buzz on the taste buds. WTF did I just wasted money on?

I tried this place before with a friend and I am hooked ever since. I loved the good ambience and fresh dishes and beverages. 5 stars from me.

For a chain it is the best Mexican restaurant around & available. Plenty of quality, tasty food.
