No stars here. Very bad. I booked a room that was non refundable for $500 total and it was during March when covid 19 took place; I called to cancel the room as I was unable to travel, they didn t give me any credit for me to use on future booking and said they can t do anything about it. I m very disappointed. My family and I couldn t travel because my spouse Is a healthcare worker and he was needed to stay during the pandemic at the hospital. You will never have my business anymore!

Average. Clean room unless absolutely nitpicking. Taxes for 1 night stay overt $50. Parking lot is small not sure if additional parking. No free breakfast - overpriced bistro optional. Great location for walking to different locations.

Great location in historic Charleston. Everything is within walking distance or a short cab ride away, so you don't have to worry about parking downtown. The staff at the front desk were friendly, and can be helpful in suggesting attractions or dining options. The rooms are modern and comfortable. They appear to have been recently renovated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Check in process was quick and easy even during high volume time. Parking was simple, but a bit overpriced for being on Calhoun. The rooms are well appointed and immaculately clean as is usual for the Courtyard brand. Location is great for all downtown activities. Overall I would highly recommend this location.

Stayed for one night in a King Suite. Room was very clean. Staff is Charleston friendly. Don't forget to call ahead for valet when you are checking out - both staff and valet advised us to call ahead for our car. Saved time and headaches for everyone this way. Would love to stay again.

To put it simply, it was bad. I don't typically write bad reviews but this called for one. I was tagging a long with a couple of my companions, one of which was hosting a retreat. A lot of the plates and some of the silverware that we ate off of and with we're dirty. A few complications occurred that I didn't get the full gist of cause then to put a cheese and fruit platter in our room as an appology but even the knife given to us to eat it was dirty. The beds gave me a backaches. There was a large gap under our door which allowed us to here everything in the halls. One of the bathrooms, and maybe the others, on the first floor smelled like sweage and had holes in the ceillings. Lastly, even though its not that big of a deal, one of my companions was angered over the fact that there was no creamer, sugar, stirring stills, or the tiny trash can for it for the coffee they had. I wouldn't go to this one again.

Nice Hotel with easy access to Marion Square and King St. The Staff was kind, Valet is the only parking option which is a $37 dollar cost- The rooms were clean and updated and the Shower was large and modern. Would stay again if I was going to spend some more time in Charleston.

Talk about souther hospitality!

Talk about souther hospitality!
In addition to the hotel feeling safe and clean during COVID, the staff went above and beyond to help me out when I had an issue accessing my room before heading to the airport. I am so appreciative of this team!

I'd expect more for the cost . Had to pay for parking everyday and bed were hard as a rock . Staff was friendly and tried to find me another room but the beds are still really uncomfortable . I would compare them to the cheap 99 dollar bed. No free continental breakfast and pay high price for what they do have .

Wonderful location and beautiful rooms. The room felt a bit smaller that some other courtyards I have stayed in but the decor and quality were of great quality. The front desks recommendation for dinner wasn't very good and that is the only real complaint I have.

The location is great, but the hotel needs lots of fixing up. Some specifics: (1) multiple grungy stains on the carpet - see photos; (2) inadequate laundering of towels - see photo of suspicious red spot on towel; (3) dusty air vent; (4) moldy shower. Wouldn't stay here again.

Great hotel in the heart of Charleston's historic district, right across from the square.
Best location, on-site restaurant, on-site parking, fully remodeled in 2018, and incredibly friendly staff.

You can park your car on-site & walk to everything in the historic district (battery park, painted row, slave yard, etc.) including many of the best restaurants in the city.

Also, the hotel is a pickup point for several tour guides and carriage ride companies.

Since 2009, this hotel has been my first choice when visiting Charleston. I've stayed here on business trips and numerous family vacations and weekend getaways. LOVE this hotel.

They recently renovated and the place looks good. However they removed the carpet from the rooms and added hardwood floors so now all the sounds from your neighbors and out in the hallway are clearly audible. Heard the guy in the adjoining room snoring all night. Think carefully if you're a light sleeper. That alone makes it a 2 star review but the staff are all very friendly and helpful and make up for it.

Great location. Lower cost than other hotels in the immediate area. Staff was very courteous, lobby and room were very clean. Sanitizer located throughout the hotel. Was not a fan of them charging a for parking when its their own parking lot located directly behind the hotel.

Stopped in to use some services as I was not a guest. Service staff was friendly, place seemed occupied by upscale clientele. Location was excellent and close to all the good stuff Charleston has to offer!

The hotel and rooms were ok, but for the price, I expected better. Didn't even have free coffee. Just stayed at a Marriott Bonvoy, and hands down that was 10 times better. It had coffee for their guests and a lovely continental breakfast.

Loved the location of this hotel. It was very central to shopping, bars/restaurants, and an easy walk to most of the historical activities in Charleston. The rooms were also very clean and a comfortable size. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice.

My in-laws stayed here while they were in town and it was a very pleasant experience. The concierge was great at recommending restaurants based on our unusual criteria, getting us reservations, and even booking us a fantastic last minute walking tour.

You would think the price you pay for a room, you would have a/c in the bathroom. Or not have someone else hair in the tub when you checked in or in the toilet after they cleaned it. There was mold on the a/c unit and window. Dusty. After cleaning, they did not give us and hand or wash towels. Went to tell front desk twice and nothing was ever done. It sucks because I love staying at Marriot, but this one was by far the worst I've ever stayed.
