Wonderful, beautiful old-time, well-preserved historic theater with great acoustics. Saw a concert there that was FABulous - Burton Cummings formerly of The Guess Who. If another group or entertainer that I want to see is appearing here, I definitely will return. Besides the stairs, there is an elevator to get to the 2nd or 3rd floors. The only downside - lack of bathroom space, especially on 2nd floor, & in need of better air conditioning - both of which are being updated soon per opening remarks of owner Ron Onesti - I hope I have spelled his name correctly. I understand he saved this precious landmark & is working hard to improve the venue overall while maintaining its historic integrity. This place is not to be missed if you're ever in St. Charles, IL!!!!

Dan Onesti is a great guy! I love the historic buildings nestled in a fabulous little town. It's reminiscent of days gone by. I've seen SEVERAL shows there and even watched a Black Hawks game there. Great times!

Today was our first visit. The talent we went to see was exceptional, but we never got the chance to see the theatre itself because the show failed to sell enough tickets. So, they moved the show to the third floor restaurant. It made the show more intimate, but .... DO NOT eat there. The restaurant's 1920's decor and ambiance is magnificent, and worth seeing. Unfortunately, the menu is extremely limiting, and way overpriced.

l love the arcada. sound is amazing, balcony is the best spot I think. Great place to see a show and the speakeasy is fun and delicious too. It is pricey but you get what you pay for.

Four of us went to see Ronnie Spector, formally of the Ronettes. None of us had ever been there before and our experience was totally great. Ms.Spector sounded like the records from 1964 and the sound system was clear, clean and you could hear everything. Most of the acts here are the 'original' performers, not cover bands as another person stated. He is totally wrong and maybe can't read because when you get to people like Charlie Daniels, Billy Ocean, LORETTA LYNN and many other top shelf entertainers the term 'cover band' does not play in. Anyway, we are already picking out more trips there. We come from Morris IL and the trip is worth it. Arcada Theatre, you are great!!!

Got to see The Blues Brothers and Angela Ingersoll as Judy Garland for PBS. Staff is courteous. You can find free parking along the street and behind the theatre. There's also a restaurant in the theatre that is fashioned as the Roaring 20's. The restaurant has good food but small portions.

But that's just me. I come from a home that serves large portions. I ordered the steak and was still hungry so I asked the waitress to bring me some pizza. The food was delicious! No complaints on the food.

no more Blue Oyster Cult or the Zombies went to better venues in Chicago area.
over priced for cover bands.

SAGA @ The Arcada Theatre 10-16-2019 was a dream come true for me especially since they hadn't appeared anywhere near the Chicago area since maybe 1983?
SAGA's sound, song selection & playing performance were all superb that night.
Arriving early we were greeted to a stage full of all of SAGA's instruments intermingled with an opening acts gear. This was a surprise to me because going online just hours before, Nothing was ever mentioned of any opening act. SAGA's gear should have been covered with sheets (?) Or hidden behind a curtain to highlight just the opening act as they played. The opening act finally took stage about 50 minutes late and they preformed well considering they played on a very overcrowded stage which left us all feeling unfocused and confused.
Both bands did not use any video screens or even take the time to use any type of backdrop during the entire show. There were no extra lighting of any type on stage. SAGA relied solely on the whimpy house lights above. No use of any fog machine either. Nothing! The lack of all these simple little necessities made for one big unexciting disappointment.
I understand that SAGA wasn't on a major US tour and this wasn't a big venue by any means, but that's all the more reason to try and make this show special. The few little extras that this show needed to even come close to be considered "normal" would not have cost that much. I would have gladly paid more money had I known this show was going to be the most visually boring I'd ever seen. Inexpensive ticket prices are great but not at the expense of putting on a good show. Ron Onesti who runs The Arcada Theatre does a good job at being accessable to his customers and values their opinions and works hard at bringing in various acts.
I hope SAGA & The Arcada work together to make a return show possible in the future as they hinted and focus on all the things that made this show go from 6-months of my biggest anticipation ever, To my biggest disappointment ever in all my 44-years of concert going. Thanks!

I came here to see America and this is one of the most intimate venues I have ever been to. We were sitting near the rear of the theater but I still felt like we were right up front with the band. Everything about this place makes you feel like you have gone back in time. I can't wait to come back!!! #concert

The venue is classic and feels like being transported back into another era. The speak easy is a nice touch on the third floor. The historic asthetic is diminished some by the run down appearance of the building. A remodel is desperately needed. All in all its a fantastic if not rustic viewing experience.

Ron does a great job bringing in the acts and the bar service is first rate and reasonable. Need to at least replace the musty carpets though!!! A/c not the best but that is an expensive upgrade. Continue to hit up Mr Rogala for some credits here !!

First time at this theater. Tommy James was terrific! The theater needs serious renovation most specifically the seats. We were in the straight back chairs on the floor and they were horrible. The woman next to me could not see anything because of the gentleman in front of her and his use of video recording during the entire show. We would not go back unless they improved the seating.

What a beautiful place. I've been here twice now to watch concerts. Both great shows. This time we discovered the restaurant on the third floor. Very cool. We will be going back to check it out more.

My wife and I went to see Mickey Dolenz there on September 22, 2019; the air conditioning wasn't working and it was about 90 degrees in the theater with barn fans. What a horrible experience, after paying a crazy high price for the tickets....
The owner could have brought in temporary a/c units. He or She needs help with management.

I love this place. Great value for the shows you get to see. The venue is small enough that even from the back row of the balcony, you can see facial expressions. New "Speakeasy" on the second floor is a more intimate place to wine and dine and listen to a different kind of music.

We saw an amazing show at the Arcada....Uli Jon Roth, a true legend!
The theater was excellent and an awesome place to see this show! I'd be interested in seeing another show there sometime soon, and hopefully next year to see Uli again!

I m reviewing this review because this place is better than my original perfect review.
Ron and his staff are awesome. i've never rated a venue before, but the entire staff at this place, the sound, overall feeling is great. Being able to call for tickets and immediately speak to a human there is awesome. Rick & Brittany who run the ticket office are polite kind and easy to work with. It s amazing to get a human on the phone who will treat you like you re a life-long member. Class act!!! I just can t get over how awesome Ron and his staff are. The BEST place to see a show. , concert, and get a killer meal!!! I love you guys!! Thank you Ron, Rick. Brittany, and the entire staff.

Old fashioned theater kept in that style.

Old fashioned theater kept in that style.

We have enjoyed many concerts there including John Bachmann, Buddy Guy, Bodeens and the recent opera Carmen are just a few but very memorable.

Tasty restaurants close by also.

I saw Keb Mo and G Love & Special Sauce there this last summer. Great show! Not a bad seat in the place. Good place to keep an eye out for if you're looking for a decent concert for not too much money.
