I am boarded in Emergency Medicine, and have been COPIC insured since 2003 when I began residency training in Denver. I have also been an administrator for a large group for much of that time, so have had the opportunity to observe their interactions with other physicians. Their 3Rs program allows a physician who is aware of a regrettable outcome to reach out in a way that can help the people they care for, rather than requiring a stony silence and denial approach to anticipated risks. They are one of the few med mal carriers that will always stand with their insured physician (rather than "doing the math" on whether it's cheaper to settle even if the complaint is not valid.) I wouldn't consider any other insurance.

We've used Copic for over 16 years and all the departments have been nothing short of perfection. Thank you for all you do.

I would never recommend Copic. I am a board certified, fellowship trained surgical subspecialist and I was seeking out individual med-mal for a new position. They strung me along for over a month, asking for inappropriate forms to be filled out requiring notarization, asking for professional references, phone meetings. In the meantime I received offers for individual coverage from 3 other companies, all while Copic was still jerking me around. Avoid!
