About Consortium of universities for global health
The Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) is a non-profit organization that aims to improve the well-being of people and the planet through education, research, service, and advocacy. CUGH supports academic institutions and partners in their efforts to address global health challenges by providing resources, networking opportunities, and training programs.
CUGH was founded in 2008 with the goal of bringing together universities from around the world to collaborate on global health issues. Today, CUGH has over 170 member institutions from more than 40 countries. These institutions represent a diverse range of disciplines including medicine, nursing, public health, engineering, social sciences and humanities.
One of CUGH's primary objectives is to promote interdisciplinary collaboration among its members. By fostering partnerships between different academic disciplines and institutions across borders, CUGH aims to create innovative solutions for complex global health challenges such as infectious diseases outbreaks or climate change-related health impacts.
CUGH also provides a platform for its members to share knowledge and best practices through conferences, webinars and other events. The annual CUGH conference brings together thousands of researchers, educators and practitioners from around the world to discuss cutting-edge research findings in global health.
In addition to promoting collaboration among its members,CUGH also advocates for policies that support global health initiatives at national and international levels. Through its advocacy efforts,CUGH seeks to raise awareness about key issues affecting global health such as access to healthcare services or environmental degradation.
Another important aspect of CUGH's work is capacity building.Cugh offers training programs designed specifically for students, faculty, and professionals who are interested in pursuing careers in global heath. These programs provide participants with hands-on experience working on real-world projects relatedto public heath, research, and policy development.
