pledged the oath today and that the wheel of Samsara is officially done!!!🥳 process took forever but thats just eu bureaucracy I guess. at least the company's team was chill, kept me updated on whatsapp and didntspam with corporate bs. now off to celebrate, finally skipping those non-eu airoport lines soon haha.

For me the biggest challenge was paperwork. I'm messy with documents, I lose and I forget everything. Your lawyer practically carried me throgh the process. Even when I sent wrong files twice, no one gave me hard time.

I moved between Sarajevo and Zagreb for work, and without Croatian citizenship it was always tiring at borders. Sometimes colleagues with EU passports just walked through, and I stood in a different line. The lawyer from your team prepared everything so I didn’t waste trips to offices, I only came when strictly necessary. Two weeks ago, when I crossed with my new passport for the first time, nobody even looked at me twice. That small difference is huge for me.

To be honest I wish it was faster. I know you said 12-18 months but in my head I hoped less. Anyway this lawyer of yours was kind, reminded me not to stress and he did everything he could to reduce it. On the other hand, I had enough time to go on vacation, deal with all sorts of things at work, visit doctors and so on. So maybe it all worked out for the best.

Whole experience took me over a year, which sounds long but in between I still had life going: kids, work, travel. Also when Bulgarian Ministry of the Interior finally released my decision I was already in Europe so going to Sofia was easy. Oath-taking ceremony lasted about ten minutes, but the office was quite crowded. So many people applying I was number 34 that morning. Frankly, the waiting was not that long - I made it in few hours.

Romania was never on my radar at first but Europe always felt like the right place for me. Over time I realized how much opportunity opens up with EU passport and that thought stuck in my head. I had no idea where to begin so just started collecting family stories and digging into our roots. When I finally reached out to your team, everything suddenly became clear. What I really liked was how trasperent the process felt: I knew exactly what was possible and what was not. Now citizenship is granted and I am already making plans to relocate next year. It still feels surreal, but in the best way possible!
