A wonderful, conservative, egalitarian synagogue in East Cobb with a new, young Rabbi who has shown us ways to energize and engage generations from older to younger. Also, I've found that the lay-leadership is really their strength. The synagogue's depth of members with "rabbi-quality" knowlege and skills; along with those who have the desire to contribute is amazing. Oh, and the only synagogue in our area that has 2 daily minyans EVERY day!

I grew up at Etz Chaim. I could have chosen any Atlanta area shul to join but I couldn't imagine being anywhere else! Etz Chaim is a warm and caring community that is inclusive to all. My children (4 and 1) love going to services and all the congregants are welcoming to my young family.

About Congregation Etz Chaim

Congregation Etz Chaim: A Progressive, Egalitarian, Conservative Synagogue

Congregation Etz Chaim is a vibrant and welcoming synagogue located in Marietta, Georgia. The congregation was founded in 1978 with the goal of providing a meaningful Jewish experience to all members of the community. Today, Congregation Etz Chaim is known for its progressive and egalitarian approach to Judaism.

At Congregation Etz Chaim, everyone is welcome regardless of their background or level of observance. The synagogue offers a wide range of programs and services that cater to individuals and families at every stage of life. From religious education for children to social events for adults, there is something for everyone at Congregation Etz Chaim.

One of the hallmarks of Congregation Etz Chaim is its commitment to egalitarianism. Men and women participate equally in all aspects of synagogue life including leading services, reading from the Torah, and serving on committees. This commitment to equality extends beyond gender as well; people from all walks of life are welcomed with open arms at Congregation Etz Chaim.

The congregation follows Conservative Judaism which emphasizes tradition while also embracing modernity. This means that while traditional practices such as daily prayer services are observed, there is also room for innovation and creativity within the community.

In addition to regular Shabbat services on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings, Congregation Etz Chaim offers a variety of other programs throughout the week. These include Torah study sessions led by Rabbi Daniel Dorsch who has been with the congregation since 2015.

For families with young children, there are several options available including Tot Shabbat which introduces young children (ages 0-5) to Jewish traditions through music and storytelling. There are also youth groups available for older children where they can connect with peers while learning about their faith.

Adults can take advantage of various educational opportunities offered by Congregation Etz Chaim such as Hebrew classes or lectures on Jewish history or current events related to Israel or anti-Semitism around the world.

The synagogue also hosts social events throughout the year such as holiday celebrations like Purim parties or Hanukkah dinners where members can come together in fellowship outside regular worship times.

Overall, Congregation Etz Chaim provides an inclusive environment where people from all backgrounds can come together in celebration of their shared faith. With its progressive approach rooted in tradition but open-mindedness towards modernity - it's no wonder why this synagogue has become one that stands out among others!
