Concordia started as a place for me to be educated, but became my entire community and family. I love it here and could not have picked a better place to get a degree.

Man I really hope McMenamins buys this place after it closes in April 2020. What an amazing opportunity that would be to turn this dying old college into something iconic and beautiful. Imagine, out with the old religious relic and in with the new heart centered hospitality and entertainment space.
No more of the religious zombies, all in for the all encompassing retreat. It s a sign of the times, as these old ways rot away and fade, a new dawn of light begins.

If there was an option to give negative stars, that s what I would give. Concordia University is NOT a college that I would recommend to anyone considering attending. Let s start with the staff, faculty, and overall community on campus; everyone tries to give off this happy-go-lucky vibe, but it s just super fake. I could see right through their b.s. act and I feel sorry for those that can t see through it. In all honesty, it literally feels like a cult; there are eyes all over you on campus. Everyone is in everyone s business and boundaries are NOT RESPECTED. Something just as worse as the overall environment on campus is dorming. The Area Directors are literal 25-35 year old children; they emphasize the rules, but don t follow them? They come back late at night either drunk or high. Quite the responsible bunch that the university has hired. Residence Life abuses their power and it s very disturbing. My experience here has been TERRIBLE. Please take your money elsewhere; there are better college options in Portland and even amongst other states.

Just completed my M.Ed in January. Fantastic, challenging and engaging experience. Loved the interaction with my colleagues, although be it online. The instructors were accessible and always willing to provide guidance and additional resources. The online librarian was also readily available, if you needed her. Additionally, it was only one year, although very rigorous in its demand. Lots of writing, but they tell you that going in the gate. My pre-enrollment interview provided me with lots of insight into what I would be getting into, thanks Gina C.! Great school, well-worth my money, effort and time.

I want to first start off in a positive stating for the most part my overall online experience was alright until towards the end of my program. I was exactly 3 class before graduating with my Masters, and ended up being withdrawn when clearly the class needed more of a choice when it related to a professor. I truly felt and expressed that their was no way I was going to be successful under the guidance of this professor only to be told that was the only professor that taught that class. I tell you this University really did me in. I left heart broken and basically have to start over to maintain my Masters degree. I was not able to take the job offered because I did not have my Masters degree. The experience that I received there was stressful and put me in a very depressive state. From the bulk of my studies I learned a lot and had some good professors. It's just a shame that the one did more harm to how I see the University than good. I pray that no one would every have to experience this experience. The only advice I can give is research the school and pay close attention to their retention rate. Had I done that from the beginning I might have saved myself from some heart ache and pain. If I could I would be so thankful to just take the three classes I needed to graduated. But, before I was withdrawn I was told that they would no longer be offering the program. A lot of late night, time, effort, missed opportunity, an a abundant of my hardworking finances flushed down the drain. Fitting the description of a true school for profit. Unfortunately!

you know if Concordia doesn't start taking care of their property really well especially their parking lot areas that we all enjoy I'm going to do it. I think the grounds-keeper could probably use some help.

I had a wonderful experience at Concordia University-Portland. The online M.Ed. program in Curriculum and Instruction is rigorous and well-structured. The program takes a "no-nonsense" approach to instruction. It is completely up to you whether or not you are successful. The online program is not for someone looking to be coddled or someone looking for a "college life" experience. The program is about learning the material and applying it. It is worth the cost and provides numerous grant opportunities.
I would highly recommend this school. They should definitely be ranked higher!

Welp, now that this is no longer a university, the campus is great for a walk, some skateboarding or hanging out in the old quad. They seem to be moving the lawn despite the school going under... so who knows.
