Through my wife's work, we were offered Turkish language classes here. I tried the one-on-one teacher then I switched to a regular classroom setting. I have been in language classes in different places in the world, and I have even taught language classes previously. My problem with Concept is that they focus on the PR more than the teaching side of the business. Besides the fact that Turkish, although simplistic, is not a friendly language, you need a structure when learning any language. With Concept there is no curriculum or any clear plan to follow. The teacher(s) MO is to give you game like cases in order teach you Turkish words and vocabulary that you can use in different contexts. I truly question the qualification and credentials of the teachers (at least the couple I worked with). They are friendly people trying to teach you in a friendly setting, but although you may have good time in class, I wonder how much you learn. Finally, you cannot but wonder how hood a language teacher is when, although a born Turkish citizen who lived all their life in Istanbul, cannot answer simple questions like an origin of a simple word or the appropriate Turkish expression when leaving a place!
I've learned my Turkish @ Concept Languages. The school itself and the founder Mrs.Arzu Sekirden has excellent facilities, tailor made teaching approach and a variety of resources for an eager learner.
It's a place where one can learn both the language as well as experience the best of Turkish culture.
