To succinctly describe all of the things that make CLI great would be impossible- their dedication to providing developmentally disabled adults and youth with a variety of programming is commendable. From residential support to employment to social activities, their team continually sets the bar high for service!

I have worked for the SOAR (Social Opportunities and Recreation) Program for 5 years. SOAR services individuals with developmental disabilities ages 12-21 with our Teen Club, Summer Camp, and Break Camp Programs. All three programs provide care for individuals while the parent or guardian is away at work. If you know someone that could benefit from our services please refer them to us! Also we are always hiring, especially for our Teen Club Program!

This 5 star review is for the Adult Recreation program. I can't speak to the residential department as I do not have any experience with that aspect of the agency. I have a son and a cousin with special needs, and both of them ADORE this program. They get to experience a range of activities with their peers that would not otherwise be possible. They attend dances, hay rides, Fright Fest, Cardinals games, Muny shows and so much more!

My son has even been in a live stage presentation of Peter Pan and my cousin was in the musical Grease. They LOVE this program and all the rich experiences it allows them to have "independent" of us. They hang out with their friends and look forward to signing up for activities.

If you are an adult with special needs or have a child or sibling with special needs, I highly recommend this program! Thanks to all the Adult Rec staff and volunteers for making this amazing program a reality for us!

For almost 16 years, I have been an employee of Community Living, Inc. I absolutely love my job and I am so passionate about what we do! When I was a junior in high school, I started as a volunteer for our after school program called Teen Club and worked my way up throughout the years and I m currently one of the Managers of the Social Opportunities and Recreation Program (Teen Club and Summer/Break Camps). The experiences I have gained supporting individuals with developmental disabilities have been life changing and I am forever grateful for the opportunities to grow within this organization. I am proud to be apart of an agency that holds true to our mission and values and that we constantly strive to think outside the box, so that we can provide services that truly impact our community. Our after-school program (Teen Club) is one of a kind in the St. Charles County area. Parents of children with developmental disabilities are often placed in a tough spot when their children enter middle school and still need oversight to be safe. We offer after-school care until 6:00pm for middle and high school students with developmental disabilities. We provide our participants the opportunity to socialize with their peers, go on field trips, and a variety of other activities! Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in learning more about our program for your child or if you are looking for a rewarding after school job that will give you the chance to build relationships with amazing individuals!

Wonderful people and a lovely atmosphere I have gone here to help my mother with work when I was younger was always fun. Everyone is very nice and the place is super clean. I really enjoyed going to help with the kids summer functions when I was younger. I remember them doing a cake walk game and my sister made funnel cakes for fundraising it was a blast!

I live next door to one of these houses and they are constantly having police calls, the employees spend all night outside smoking and being loud and they don't follow city ordinance. They ruined my yard. Clearly these houses aren't managed well. I would not send my loved one there.

My restaurant has partnered with Community Living for several events. The leadership and staff have always been a pleasure to work with! The work they do for our community and their industry is no easy task. They are closer to Angels than people who run a business.

This place is currently(5-10-2018) under investigation for abuse and neglect of their clients. They are always hiring because employees quit once they witness the abuse. Do not apply here the pay is very low and they don't treat the patients with respect and care. The Director of the residential program Leann Clements will push all concerns under the rug.

I worked for this company for 2 years. Within that time I worked in 4 different homes . The first year was AMAZING, until we got super short staffed and I stopped biting my tongue about issues I saw or received; higher power not following protocol, One-on-one clients left with no One-On-One staff, requested time off not given if you can t find coverage for it, clients dietary needs not trained or met, staff sleeping during day-time shifts repeatedly, management turning in 2-week notices for people who have NOT asked for them, etc. Not every manager and house are ran like this, just so happened those 4 were. Once you start to complain about the unfair treatment to staff and clients, they start figuring out how to get you out the door. After my first year I realized that if you aren t a worker that likes to keep your mouth shut and do your job regardless of what s going on around you, you will be given unfair treatment and your name slashed throughout the company.
I loved this company for the amazing clients that they bring in, that they offer 60 hours a week when THEY need your help, health plan is pretty good, and they do offer staff an allowance every month to participate with the clients.
