I had fun but the reason I don't go to fairs... too expensive.
Lots of fun and good naughty snacks. The carnival is awesome for younger kids. Tons of vendors with everything you can think of. Great place for companies to market and connect.
love taking my daughter to the fair but it's become over priced these days. I can take my kiddo to 6 flags for the same cost.
Really had fun and enjoyed my son having a great time that day. Live animals, rides, food, live activities, some including pets and livestock.
Went here for the gun show over the weekend, good event lots of weapons. Good deals, i will be excited to go to the next show.
Wife and I visited. Great place to see and walk around. They had great exhibits and had food vender and alcohol sales for those who like beer. It is somewhat pricey. Upon leaving they had shuttle service to your vehicle which was great when tired or handicapped. We are going again.
The worst state fair we've been to (we've been to 4). It felt more like a county fair, not a state fair. The parking seemed to be non-existent. Residents were outside of their homes and tried to charge $10 for parking. Outrageous. We parked on the street for free with no problems and it was maybe a 2 block walk. I read online that there was supposed to be $7 parking for the fair, but we couldn't find it. Most of the cool things inside the fair cost additional money. It seemed like this fair consisted mainly of food stands. We did catch the seal show for free, which was entertaining. The best part was the petting zoo for our daughter. Overall, not worth the 2 hour drive we took to attend.
I don't know what to say about the fairgrounds they have shows and the fair it's all right
A disgusting be plea for your fat ass dirty dollar... Completely lacking in every way!
It was a good time. Luckily it was cooler and we had a nice breeze. It was Senior Day so admission was free you can't get a better deal.
I love going here every year to the demolition derby But this year not so much. All they have is bud beer and dangerous conditions for the derby. They don't water the arena enough and had to be stopped twice to make some drivers weren't seriously injured. Too many cars in some heats. But I still love it but the drink choices suck.
Same stuff every year. But yet prices go up every year. Very sad
We frequent here for random events. Always have fun, and it is always super crowded. Always amazes me how one place can host so many different things and, it feels like a new place each time. From the state fair to when Evraz used to have the family appreciation days.
Country Fair Peewee show was so fun. Ranch rodeo exciting
Went to concert there during the fair great service even got a ride to front door of venue
Lots of fun things to do! Parking can be tough. Cheesy vendors as well as decent ones. Great animals and fun carnival atmosphere.
Too expensive and no shade should have more benches and umbrellas for people like me senior citizen
Always a good time, just wayyyy too hot, needs to be later in the year!
In my opinion the state fair has gone down this year. There weren't as many vendors as there has been in the past. I hope it was just a fluke this year and next year will get back to the way people like it to be.
Not very impressed this year. Every year we go there expecting something new and same vendors trying desperately to sell you something. The Salida Circus was a great addition though. Being honest.
The state fair grounds has so much to offer. The area is well taken care of and very big. I been here now for the fair and my daughters graduation.... Yes! Great for many different events. I recommend this place
I was down there to load up semi , very hot down there
The grounds are old and run down. The fair doesn't seem to be what it once was and safety does seem to be a concern (did that security guard just waive those people through and not wand then?). The vendors are always nice to look at and visit but the prices are oftentimes not worth it.
Parking is always a pain in the you know what and the amount of people send to fluctuate. When we were there, there were enough but it didn't seem like a lot.
If you go with your kids, the rides are beat up and overpriced. Seriously, ride at your own risk.
I enjoyed the exercise and people watching, but I can get that at a park... at no cost.
Food way to high. And Fiesta Day should of been all weekend not just Sunday
Same thing every year. Prices are outrageous! They shut off all the water fountains throughout the fairgrounds, forcing people to have to purchase water. We go for the kids. They love seeing the animals, trucks, and other displays and events, as well as the rides, of course.
Disappointed that nothing has changed since our visit years ago, lots of vendors selling overpriced items and food. The carnival prices are ridiculous especially for the quality of the rides. Will not be returning anytime soon
Did not seem like there was much to enjoy this year unless you wanted to do carnival rides or games.
Great time! We come back every year. The food is fantastic and plenty of activities for the whole family!
Crammed in town and small, really expected more. I understand the nostalgia of the place but not big enough to sustain the state fair.
No recycling. Plenty of places to buy cans and bottles of verious things to drink but absolutely no recycling.
The state fair brings back lots of memories of my childhood. The fair grounds haven't changed since then and could really use a revamp. For one, they don't allow outside food and drinks, but they don't have many drinking fountains or much access to water. That's so important in the middle of summer in our arid climate. The marching band competition is always fun, but not held in a space large enough for a crowd of for the band to even fit on stage! No wonder the urban crowd doesn't go down to Pueblo for the fair, it's not worth their time or money to make the trip. Sad, because the kids and adults competing have some great projects and livestock that are worth seeing.
Everything here was insanely pricey. Spent well over $100 for 2 rides, a few games and some lunch.
If you think the fair is old it is ...its 146 years old....its history made in Pueblo CO. If you think prices are high go to 6 Flags in Denver and really see what rip off means. Or try a 9 dollar beer at a 75$ Bronco game. If you think its a rip off now wait till Denver or Greely gets it . You will find out what a crapdog really tastes like. Keep history in its place . It makes Pueblo 29 million a year. I love the fair.....eating frybread, drinking beer thrownig up on the Himalaya ride while it's in reverse ...the puke never really hits you...Just everyone else. It is a Colorado Tradition to make the journey to its original historical hallowed grounds. Keep it in Pueblo. The original capital of CO. Dont commercialize it aporeciate it. You 1 and 2 star dorks.
Really expensive! It's become a once every five years event!
Location is great once a year we get visitors from all over so it brings in revenue that our town needs. I also love to eat that Indian fry bread. Although it is very expensive. The prices need to be more reasonable or I'm not going to be going back any more.
There are a lot of the buildings and bathrooms that are out dated and in need of some up keep or remodeling. The asphalt on the road ways need to be redone to keep down on the trip hazards. Shows are ok. Prices on things are way to high. Parking places are slim. Why has there been no parking garages built for the state fair? Could be used for more than that. For the most part the fair is clean.
I love coming here get to meet all the good friendly nice people
It was my first time attending. Lots of interesting things to do. Shuttle service was great but they need better map for the fairgrounds, it's most confusing.
Worked the fair last yr and if anyone needs help there this year give me a call 719-569- 2042.
Boring and over rated..way too expensive..we will never go again..
Air force academy Christmas concert is always wonderful here
We enjoyed the day at the State Fair. My only complaint is the absolutely insane food prices! $14 for a turkey leg. Are you kidding me! Fair admissions are down and officials wonder why. You just about have to have a winning lottery ticket to fund fair food.
I hate the Colorado State Fair! Everything is WAY over priced and there is no reason for prices to be that high. The ONLY reason we go is to take the grandbaby and then, AND THEN they don't allow my grandson to ride the rides because he's not tall enough by their height poles. What upsets me is they require an adult to PAY to ride the kiddie rides. How stupid.
Fun with lots of things to see but rides are way over priced.
Saw Gabriel Iglesias and Skillet and the fair this year! Awesome time!
Pretty cool, for a smaller state fair. Good sized midway and a lot of shows and activities.
Lots of fun to walk the fairDe.mo derby is the best.
The food was great! The guys doing the caricatures were phenomenal. Now to address the other issues, the t-shirt vendors were all selling the same merchandise, the rides for small children as well as those for adults and teens were in an area the size of a parking lot yet they were charging as if it were something special. To be honest, I've been to county fairs with more to offer. Were it not for the food and te free shuttle service to the free parking lot, I would have given it a one.
We enjoyed ourselves and our granddaughters enjoyed all the rides
This is a very well laid out and facilities-full fairground. Plenty of space for the midway, and lots if fun.
Great value for the price. The carnival midway is clean and bright. The rides are fun and the funnel cakes and cotton candy were awesome. There is so much to see and do.
I good place to go once a year but way too expensive.
We went on the $10 day a Wed....other than that kinda pricey inside the carnival area they should ne accepting cash there is little machines is a gag we spent no money on anything else other than the Rides inside the carnival area. Outside a carnival area much better you can actually spend cash. The state fair same thing every year sometimes they get newer rides enjoy.
0/10 would recommend going here. I attempted to call the box office on this matter, but their line will not connect you, no matter how many times you press 5 to speak to someone. My boyfriend and I went to the state fair tonight. Upon purchasing our tickets, we noticed we were charged for 5 tickets instead of 2. So we turn right around to get it resolved, the man then tells us he has to call the "boss lady" to fix his error. (Did he not realize within a second that 3 extra tickets had printed out, or was this intentional...?) Anyway, we tell her it would be easier for us to get cash for a refund, and she asks for our card instead. So no problem, she gives us the receipt stating our refund, no apologies were made at all and she didn't seem to think the situation was weird. (Again, perhaps it was intentional to overcharge people and she was well aware of this, who knows.) Now you guys have made it so there in less money in my bank account than there was supposed to be, and it could take days to go back in, which affects my finances. Whoever would like to contact me to resolve this situation, should do so asap so we don't feel so swindled by the state fair in the state we live in.
The Colorado state fairgrounds including the event center are well maintained and offer a variety of events throughout the year including various concerts and the Colorado state fair every August. Great family fun and plenty of parking areas surrounding the fairgrounds within short walking distance.
