I have been promised Masters for the amount I settled with Amercian Collection Agency and after receiving payment they informed me i have to complete 5 more courses with 800 extra dollars for each class (I signed up in 2013 when the course fee was 1100$ now I pay 1975$/ month). I hope no one ever goes through this horrible experience. Im not on their F1 Student Visa. All I wanted was my masers and I feel betrayed.
Graduated from Coleman 15 years ago. Today I had an urgent need to get my official trascripts for a background check. Kudos to Lisa C, Sarah P, and Alex W for jumping through hoops to get the information to me so quickly. Very impressed...
Worst experience ever. Do not go to this school. They steal your money. I did my fafsa and I was qualified. Yet they charge me full cost. Learned nothing but how to do basic coding. 90% of the teachers didn't even know how to code, just know the concept. Don't waste your time and just go to a community college and then move up from there.
This is a school where the information and tools are there, but if you don't want to learn you don't have to and you can still pass. I hate to give it a one star, because some of the staff are amazing, but the rating goes for the educational value. They care more about money than teaching.
All the staff in the game design & development program are constantly pushing us to work harder to get into the field, I have to support what I see from previous reviews calling out negative reviews saying this school sucks because clearly they just didn't learn jack on their own terms. John Ramos and all of the instructors in the gaming program have major heart and brilliance and they're always working hard to better the program. This school is a hidden gem compared to institutes that offer similar courses like the art institute(degree mill), devry & full sail (stupid expensive).
If you are ready and willing to learn, Coleman is a good place. I'll admit the student services may go through some bad seeds but there are crappy people everywhere, there are still great and helpful people up front that REALLY CARE to figure out how to aid your financial or personal dilemmas.
If the technology field is not for you then don't rate the school low because you didn't learn anything. I've been attending this school for about 2 1/2 years and my knowledge of computer programming has advanced more than I could have ever imagined.
I have to reiterate that if you don't have the passion for technology and just want some quick degree then this is not for you. Some of you writing these negative reviews are previous students from Coleman University that have left unhappy but I suggest you make better life decisions and stop complaining when it's your fault for not putting in the effort to something you aren't clearly interested in.
***** The BEST Cyber Security program in San Diego. The staff members are very helpful and will go extra mile for you. Professors are very easy to work with and flexible if you have any situation going on. Ratio of students and professor is really good, so you can ask for help with no problem. I had a vehicle accident couple months ago, they helped and accommodated me with my all medical situation, I managed to pass my classes with flying colors. They also have a Cyber Security club that guides you with your program. They are also setting up a penetration test lab(Watchout now). Special thanks to Ms. Nickole Bravo for all the help. #militaryfriendly
I'm not sure how people going into the programming specialty are complimenting the school on it's "great" program considering most of the lower division classes are equivalent to stuff that most kids learn in middle school, and there "Upper Division" Courses are literally just entry level CS 101 classes. If you think you can learn anything about programming going to this school, do your self a favor and just Google free online programming classes on Coursera or YouTube, because they would be more beneficial than this degree. If I was an employer looking for programmers I would take every resume from this school and shred it, then I would refer the potential client to mcDonalds instead. Also if you look at their catalog you will see that most of the faculty has only received a BS / BA in some field from a for-profit university. That's really embarrassing.
Great material and dedicated staff make this an awesome school for anyone searching for a degree in technology.
