Great place for kids and parents 0-11. Small, well maintained, educational, fun. Great if you love fish, frogs, turtles, snakes... Lots of events on their calendar. Would suggest attending one of the events as they have a.lot more to offer on those days

Awesome Annd affordable. I do wish that they kept up alittle better on the rotting food floating at the top. There was a fish upside down dying and it did appear that a few had an eye disease but the overall experience was enjoyable.

A great outing every time. My kids love it here, it's tranquil yet engaging, priced right to be able to go any time. So much to see and around the corner from a beautiful hike and great towns for spending the day

Want for a scout program "Into The Woods" and learned about the trees and their place in the ecosystem - the kids loved it. I learned a few things too! We will be back for the fishing and to explore the rest of the aquarium!

Very cool place to feed the rainbow trout. The fishing part didn't seem as stocked or with as nice of fish as the round pools. The indoor tanks have other types of fish from the area. One of the outdoor tanks has large carp and sturgeon however these big guys weren't interested in the fish food.

Kids and I always have fun visiting this place. If you want to fish here, you have to get there before the fishing time opens as they will only admit a handful of people for each time period (once in the morning and once after lunch). It s also catch and keep, so you have to keep all the fish that you catch (and it s $4/fish). I gave it 4 stars because we didn t catch any fish twice in a row.

Hatchery is so cute! At first I was concerned because I came all the way from the city to look at such a small place. However, there is more that just the outdoor pools you see upon arrival. Don't forget to go to the separate small buildings to see the aquarium part of the place. It's easy to miss and assume it's just the 3 or 4 pools. The fishes were somewhat overcrowded, but it was fun feeding them and watch them jump for the food.

There is a small kid's room where they placed a tank with baby eels. Cool stuff!

The place is cheap only $6 and it's worth the price for the 1 or 2 hours you can kill. They also give you the option to fish for some trout and buy them afterwards. But do you REALLY want to kill and eat the fish ??? Fishes are friends, not food.

We got passes from the library so the price was right lol but there isn't much to do. I have a 3 year old and she actually enjoyed herself, which was worth the trip. She loved feeding the fish. I just wish it was a little easier for her to do in her own. There is a small aquarium. The gift shop wasn't that expensive and I found a cute fishing toy for her. Overall, it's a fine place to go if you need something to do but check your local library for passes as I'm not sure I'd want to pay each time. You can fish there but the fees add up quickly. It would be cool if they added a playground for little ones.

Fantastic center to help everyone young and old learn about our local wetlands wildlife. See Trout, Sunfish and other native fish as well as a great assortment of native turtles and amphibians. They have some great displays to inspire you. Great affordable entry price with free parking.

We joined the Fall Festival, the kids had a good time specially with the zoo petting, but honestly I think the price for the games and activities were pricey, considering that you also have to pay for admission. We finished all the activities in 1 1/2 hrs, including time for lunch. So very small place

Went here for the first time with my 2 and 7 year old to fish on their dock. They have 2 buildings with indoor aquarium attractions for viewing and some outdoor trout and turtle ponds. Kids had a good time but dont plan on spending too much time as it's small. The fishing was fine. Steven who worked there was friendly and did a good job directing and helping us as we don't have much fishing experience. Decent 1 to 2 hours excursion with the kids.

The best 45 minutes one can spend across from the Cold Spring Harbor Labs.

If possible, schedule your visit during one of the two days a year where they have the "live" sushi festival and tasting. There is no fresher sushi to be had on Long Island. Literally seconds from breeding tanks to your palate. Call for details.

Small but a very nice place to spend a couple of hours. My son loved the frenzy caused by feeding the fish and feeding two chickens from his hand. Interesting tanks with frogs, turtles and fish. Opportunity to fish but catch and keep.

Great place but very small. Good place to take the family. Average time spent is no more than an hour. Great educated staff. You can feed the fish for a quarter. Bring extra change because the fish love to eat.

We have been here before and this is our second time here. We came for the advertising of fishing! Well very disappointed as we drove 30 minutes to be told only 12 poles are allowed and you can wait and see if someone finishes before the session end. No such luck. Don't waste a drive for it when they advertise. Better chance to go get your own pole and go elsewhere!

Great place for a family outing. You can feed the fish for $4. Admission is cheap...6 or 7 dollars. I purchased a $50 membership so I can make unlimited visits with my family during the year. The aquarium is open all year round. Refreshments are also reasonable...they have drinks and ice cream right now. It is open 7 days a week from 10am to 5:00pm.

Lovely place for the kids to have a good time feeding the fish and learn a little. Right behind there is a lovely church with a beautiful lake you can scroll too after the fishing experience.
Is a great way to spend time with fam or love ones.

Trout hatchery on the north shore, it's fascinating to see how the fish are bred and raised. If you want fishing, they have that too, for an additional fee. Indoor exhibits of local fish and amphibians. They used to have a massive snapping turtle that died a few years ago at over a hundred years old, but they had him stuffed, and he's still very impressive. It's not a big place but it's six bucks to get in. There's also a gorgeous lake out back next to a church that offers killer views to the photographer in you.

Nice place for the kids to see turtles, fish, snakes, salamanders, and some birds. Kids can feed fish. If you register on the website, you can fish too. There is also a hiking trail; ask for the key at the admission window.

This place is one of our go to places to take the kids in any weather. The children's programs they have are top notch especially Pollywogs on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Can't say enough good things about the facilities and the staff!

Been going here all my life. They do a great service by stocking lakes. Very educational. Fun for young children. There is a small stream stocked with trout so children can have a fishing experience. There is also a museum that is fish related . Come and feed the trout for a small fee. Take a loved one and rediscover together the memories.

Went on a Cub Scout outing with my family. Kids learned about the types of fish they hatch, how to cast a fishing rod, and had an opportunity to fish for trout. This is a great way to introduce fishing to children.

An amazing way to pass a summer weekend with kids. The staff members are very friendly and knowledgeable about the animals in their care. We went during the turtle hatch weekend event and had an amazing time. Highly recommend it. They rent fishing rods and help out with the fishing.

These place is a great learning experience for kids, learning about fish and the environment. It is very interactive and much more appealing than the riverhead aquarium. You can feed the fish or just go and relax. It is also somewhat of an inexpensive outing.

Have volunteered here for a few months and the staff are amazing! A non-profit educational center, proceeds go directly towards providing more programs and services to local schools and organizations.

A relaxing getaway in the middle of Long Island, fishing and aquarium exhibits offer a great experience away from busy, daily life!

Personal favorite is working the Fishing Dock, rarely crowded and filled with exciting families, solos, and small groups having a good time with each other and new faces. Always looking forward to meeting new regulars that want to enjoy a nice day out with the water~

Open year round!
