I didn't even have a chance to get into classes here before i decided to un-enroll. The system they have is so confusing and so messed up. My husband is in the military and we're stationed overseas right now, so the extra stress they added was not worth it at all. I'd highly recommend going somewhere else

I have attended five community colleges, one university, and law school. This school was far and away the hardest to deal with while I attended classes online from them--and continues to not only be difficult to deal with--but extremely rude.
Coastline's bookstore manager, Martha, is thee rudest and unprofessional employee I have ever encountered at any school I have attended.
I ordered two textbooks to be sent to my friend located in another city--who's correct shipping address was inputted. I then input my billing address. Yet, somehow, this bookstore screwed it all up and got the shipping wrong--and they want to charge me for another $9.99 for S&H.
What a joke. I attended a few online classes with Coastline years ago and frequently recommended them as a great online option for those wanting to further their education. Never again will anyone get such a recommendation from me.
Seriously, you would be much better off going to a different school. One that appreciates their students.

This school takes money from veterans! They emphasize that they have classes tailored for veterans, however these "Tailored" Veteran courses are nothing more than a way for Coastline to use veteran benefits like the GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon to line their own pockets. I.E. I was reviewing my records and apparently I was qualified and enrolled into a BOG fee waiver (a waiver that waives course fees) however, With the GI Bill along with the Yellow Ribbon program, veterans are supposed to get their tuition paid for in full. So why do I even need a BOG fee waiver? Basically Coastline CC got money for my classes from the GI Bill, applied for the BOG fee waiver and kept the money the GI Bill paid for. So where did that money from the GI bill go, if the BOG fee waiver, waived all course fees? Again this school claims to be a military friendly school, and yet they screw over a retired disabled combat veteran. Now because of multiple clerical errors or intentional "errors" I now owe the VA a few thousand dollars. How is this possible? Taking money from those who have given everything is just plain wrong.

The online military portion was awful. I can t speak on the Civilan sector. However, I was suppose to been graduating after this 8 weeks online semester, hoping that I would be done after my last two classes, just to find out that one of the classes wasn t offered anymore and the other class wasn t going towards my specific degree. So, before you are able to take classes in the military program all classes have to be approved to make sure those classes fits your degree plan so without a doubt I thought I was good to go after receiving approval. This issue resulted to me having to drop the class that was offered because it wasn t going to count toward my degree plan, only not to be able to pick up another class because I was told after the semester had already started. So I wasn t able to graduate after working so hard trying to utilize the time the military gave me off just to finish. It was such a bummer and disappointment. The school tried to give me credit for classes I took at a prior institution that I thought I was already getting credit for anyway, to insure that I could graduate on time just to be denied. So unorganized an a waste of time and effort in my opinion.

This campus is located in a part of Newport Beach that is primarily light industrial/ commercial, with a few neighboring apartment communities. As a result, the area tends to be relatively quiet after work hours, when all of the surrounding offices have closed for the day. Also adding a sense of tranquility, is the fact that the campus backs up to a large undeveloped area of land, with views of the ocean beyond.

The campus is comprised of a single building, with most (non-classroom) common areas either outdoor or quasi-outdoor, housed within the outer shell of the structure. The building was designed to moderate indoor temperatures with minimal need for air conditioning (during hot months) or heating (during cool months). However, the classrooms can become quite cold during the winter, so dressing in layers is recommended.

Campus parking is permit-only during school terms. (A day permit can be purchased via a vending machine in the parking lot.) Within the campus parking lot there is some covered parking available underneath the building's overhang. In addition to the campus parking lot, there is also some parking along the street(s) bordering and adjacent to the campus. Many of those streets, though, are lined with apartments, so available parking can be scarce.
