I have been a patient at Coastal Skin Surgery and Dermatology for a number of years. We are fortunate to have this organization in our area. Dr. David Adams is a Mohs surgeon. Here is why that is important.

It is my understanding that Mohs Surgery is a relatively new technique in treating skin cancer.

Based on my research, Mohs surgery is considered the most effective technique for treating many basal cell carcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas. These are the two most common types of skin cancer.

The technique is micrographic surgery. The procedure is done in stages, including lab work, while the patient waits to hear the results.

The advantage to the patient is that this allows removing all cancerous cells and not removing healthy tissue.

A major advantage from the patient's standpoint is that there is less scaring. There is also only one procedure done and the process is relatively quick.

The office is very well run. All of the staff members are very professional. It can take a while to obtain an appointment for a routine check which effectively means this is a busy medical practice as those who have used their services have been very satisfied and told friends and relatives about their favorable experience.

The staff was welcoming, as usual. Many precautions were made to protect patients from Covid. Everyone wore a mask and there were plastic dividers between reception area (and checkout) and patients. Dr. Papajohn addressed my health issues. Before I left the exam room, he made sure he covered my concerns. It was a good medical experience. I appreciate the staff and doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Adams for over ten years and have nothing but praise for him and his staff. He is the only doctor I have ever found that personally called after a procedure to make sure I was ok. In my opinion you just don t get any better that that.

My appt was with Darla Hobbs. This was my first time seeing her and I was very impressed. She is very thorough and knowledgeable. I will definitely see her next year for my check up. I highly recommend this practice.

Always a friendly and cheerful patient oriented experience. Efficient in taking care of patients and will get you in in a timely fashion according to urgency of need. Offer clear and concise instructions for post op care and available if an issue develops. The only place to go in my opinion.

I have been saying Dr Papa John for years now for rosacea, checkups for skin cancers, and open lesions from either allergies or fungus. First of all, the staff is friendly, so welcoming every time you go, and they bend over backwards to get you in as quickly as possible.

Dr Papa John has worked tirelessly with me to resolve my issues and I've been very pleased with his progressive approaches to what has been a lifelong problem for me.it's clearly evident that he cares about his patients and wants to give them the very best care. First experience with PA not good at all. She waited 6 days, after her initial call, before informing me that I had skin cancer.
Second visit with A DOCTOR was much improved and more professional.
