Y11 student here. Teachers and lessons are great. The way the school acts towards bullying is borderline useless, the way they deal with students who are basically prats - is rubbish...
and covid 19:
Lack of cleaning
Lack of social distance space
Lack of covid rules
Lack of covid support
Lack of total braincells

Clarendon is great. We have 2 halls. One is called the Mary Langford. The other one is called the Edward Hyde. In the Mary langford they make a delicious hot meal. In the other hall they make sandwiches. Their are over a 1,000 people. The uniform you have to wear is a tie a skirt or trousers and a T-shirt and a blazer. The P.E staff are amazing. They help you with all different things. My P.E. teacher is teaching me athletes. Athletes is where you throw things or run. Clarendon is EXCELLENT. The headteacher at Clarendon is amazing. We have a swimming pool. When you walk up to the sports center you can smell the chlorine from the swimming pool. At Clarendon you.get different tutor groups. My tutor is really smart and clever. We have a reception and a receptionist. The recsptionist sits behind a desk and takes messages. Sometimes you can be a reception duty person. We have a library with a lot of books. You are only allowed too take out 2 books at once. When you finished one you can return one. If you haven't finished the second one you can return it or renew it. The library is EXTRODANARY. Sometimes you have to copy things into your books at Clarendon. Clarendon is the.most amazing school and tbw teachers their have a staffroom that they can sit in and have a chat and talk about things. They can also have a cup of tea in their too. I have a understanding our world teacher. He is teaching me about the American revolution. BY MAHAILA TIZZARD.

Good but they don't deal with bullying. The team check is not good as the students don't have enough time to walk to school in the morning .

I may have only been at this school for half a year, but there are some things that I really wish could be improved. I feel like it's necessary I share my opinion as nobody knows the school better than the students themselves.
Food-wise, there are quite a few options, though you have to be very quick because by the time I get there most of the food is gone. I'd recommend bringing packed lunch and sitting in Edward Hyde instead. I don't see any sanitary issues in the actual bistro, but there have been many times where I've seen food mushed into the carpets of the hallways and litter all over the site...
Toilets are the usual: everything you'd need is almost always there. However, some of the soap machines are just completely broken or have no soap in them at all. Eventually, they do get refilled.
Most lessons I haven't had any problems with; nearly every teacher seems happy to be there and willing to help. The real problem here is the students and how the teachers deal with them. I've cried lots between classes due to other students and the only instance where I've actually received help is when an English teacher went out of her own break to try and help me calm down. I'm still very thankful for that. In lessons, the classroom is pretty noisy. For the core subjects, this doesn't usually happen, but in others, like Art, BV and Geography it's becoming a problem that not even the teachers manage to solve sometimes. Although we do get quite a lot done and what they do manage to teach is useful and stays in my memory, I wish they had a better way of getting students to calm down so that maybe we could learn more.
As I've mentioned previously, the students here have no control. More and more bullying problems are coming up because of this, and I have been in the middle of it for a very long time. Nothing major, just a lot of teasing which gets on my nerves a little more every day. When this started to become more of a problem, I started to look around the whole school for somewhere you can talk to someone about it; I still don't know where you should go if stuff like this comes up, I barely remember the teachers' names and I never got told the places. Just go to your tutor is the best plan.
Homework for every other lesson is completely fine and comes in small amounts, the only pieces of homework I dread getting is Geography. Projects, BIG PROJECTS have to be completed by the end of the term, along with an assessment. Instructions on how to do them are pretty unclear and you end up stressing a lot when you see how much effort everyone else managed to put in compared to you who had very little help or understanding. It's a very nit-picky thing to say, but it's been bugging me throughout my very short time here.
After-school activities are a ton of fun, honestly the highlight of my week. They often get cancelled which is disappointing, but when they're not, it can make for a really good time just being able to do what you enjoy with other people who enjoy it too. There is a wide range of clubs, especially for sport, all hosted by teachers. If you are coming to Clarendon, you should seriously go join one, it's better than you'd expect.
For special occasions like trips, they keep you very well informed through emails and letters, answering any questions you may have efficiently.
"Tutor Time" is, in all honesty, a waste of time that forces you to come in at a certain time. What's discussed in these sessions can just as easily be discussed in house assemblies and classes. No offence to the poor teachers who have to put up with it, I just don't see the point.
Overall, this school is okay. It's really just what you'd expect from a basic secondary school. What I've said here is mostly stuff that they are unable to fix: this can only serve as a little guide and a warning as to what the school is like.
