Watch out for these crooks I called for a consultation because I was thinking about getting an attorney for a restraining order. and I told them I need to think about it and I gave them my credit card number over the phone but, I didn't authorize them to run my credit card but they did anyways for 5600 dollars. without my permission and I didn't even have a contract with these guys I only spoke with them a few times and then they pretended like the did a bunch of work on the same day lol.. that's fraud they can't do that they offer free consultation don't they I just got a bad feeling like they were working for the other side. watch out what attorneys you use these days I recommend using an attorney you know I've learned my lesson with firms like these. now I'm gonna have to dispute these credit card charges with this company shouldn't be hard since it was fraud without a contract. it's always best to work problems out yourself or represent your self in Court easy piezy depending on the attorney you need

What did I like about it? I liked the personal attention that I got from everyone at Cleary and Green. My divorce situation was very difficult to deal with. Believe me, I know everyone's' family law situations are tough for thrm but mine was especially brutal because of the custody issues. Everybody at this firm took the time to make sure I got through it and I am happy with the child custody arrangement I ended up with. I cannot thank enough. I give five stars. Great!!!

I guarantee that every positive rating for this firm is written by an employee! These people sat on my case for 4 months and did nothing except "draft" papers which cost me over $2,000 dollars. Please do what I did not do and run after reading these ratings! Because regardless, after $2,400 dollars ANY firm should be able to do SOMETHING (and not just draft papers that don't even make it to court. These guys just want you to put money down and start you on a monthly payment. They will use that up by charging # different people to do the same draft and before you know it there is no more money. Very basic scheme this firm uses.

As a single father of handsome twins, I was able to obtain sole legal and physical custody of my sons with Arran's professional guidance and support. Despite the judge being overly sympathetic towards the respondent, Arran kept his demeanor and presented my case with the utmost professionalism of any lawyer that I have been affiliated with. In addition to his attention to detail during the hearing, he corrected the judge on numerous occasions and even educated her on a few legal codes. Not only have I recommended Arran, but I would not hesitate in using his services again.

I can't give zero so I have to give one. Trying to bill me 30,000 dollars for a restraining order I never should have gotten awarded against me. LET ME REPEAT 30,000 DOLLARS FOR A RESTRAINING ORDER. Basically won the case and the lawyers pressed me for depositions etc. The entire thing took over six months. I was divorced for a fraction of the cost they are trying to bill me. Horrible service, inarticulate lawyers that were an embarrassment to stand next to, and ultimately, it all cost me the case and several thousand dollars for nothing. They are unwilling to help in most cases and the only time I really heard from them was from billing. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR THE OUTCOME OF YOUR CASE--STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COST. If you fail to believe me, contact me personally and I will be glad to prove how horrible they are.

They charged me $5000 for minor filing and maintenance of my account. They charged me for reading emails that they did not respond to amd forced me to re email them and be charged again. Then they charged me for the legal secretary to tell the paralegal to tell the junior attorney to tell the senior tourney and then I got charged double for each of those because they were all talking to each other and all billing at their own individual hours. It's on the verge of theft

My divorce has not been a smooth process but Arran and his associates have been extremely helpful along the way. Their attention to detail and their professionalism has been key in what otherwise would have been a completely different outcome, I could not be more pleased. Thank you to all who have been a part of our case, my children and I greatly appreciate it.

Your filings will have misspelled words, and attorneys will show up late to court. They will railroad and bully their way through the process rather than negotiating. And then they'll still lose anyway.

They rob people !!! You will have them for 1 week and your bill is already $5,000!!!

Mr. Arran Treadway has been the most attentive, caring, thorough and best family attorney I have ever encountered. Not only does he get what needs to be done but he is always available to give me time and information even after business hours. He has been such a blessing and I am overly impressed and happy with his performance in the court room and outside dealings of the court room as well. If I had to rate Arran on a scale of 1 to 10 I would absolutely rate him at a 20. He is very professional and when needs to be he can be an animal in the court room. I completely trust him to bring me the best results and get everything he can get me for every court date.

We worked with Eli Hammond and Kathleen Choe on a case and couldn't have asked for better results. They filed two motions on the case and had a hearing on both and won both motions. The case went from having a "permanent" order of protection issued to getting the entire case dismissed and we may even be awarded attorney's fees. Eli was very prepared for the hearing and presented extremely well in court in front of the judge. I'm happy this case is over and that we had an attorney that we could truly rely on to get fair and just results!

Failed to move simple case forward - TWICE - by simply not sending clients the documents to fill out. Kept billing of course. After the the first time you'd think the client wouldn't have to follow up to be sure everything is moving forward, but you'd be wrong because that's exactly what happened.

At least three attorneys came and went in our basic case (hopefully they took their career to better places).

Hire a paralegal instead or learn to be one because even filing and mailing was beyond their abilities in our experience.

Last November I left my wife after years of dysfunction and drama. A few weeks after I left, my ex served me with divorce papers. She hired an attorney, and she was out to burn me. She was wanting full custody of our son, child support, spousal support, and attorney's fees from me. She alleged that I was a drug addict and a violent husband. Needless to say, I realized it was time for a lawyer. I had a few phone consultations before I called CnG. Once I spoke with C&G, I felt like they were the firm for the job.
I met with an attorney named Eli Hammond. Once I met with Eli, I explained to him the situation, and I explained to him my desired outcome. Eli really took the time to listen and ask questions, and he seemed genuine. I was charged a $3500 dollar retainer, and Eli Hammond officially became my divorce lawyer. After I further explained the relationship problems with my ex, with the physical abuse at me over the years, and verbal/mental abuse towards the kids, Eli immediately suggested that I file a restraining order against my ex. So, I did. We won the order of protection, and my ex was given a stiff dose of reality. She immediately expedited the RO hearing, and we were scheduled to appear in court a few days later. long story short, My RO was upheld and her counter RO was denied! What a victory, seemed justice was working! My son was returned to me after weeks without seeing him.
The next time we went to court we were scheduled for custody mediation. I asked for 50-50 custody, she wasn't budging however. She insisted on wanting full custody. So, we saw the judge and the judge ordered 50-50 custody for my son and 8 hours visitation a week with my step daughter(who I raised most her life)
I was especially impressed about my daughter because I have no legal rights to her honestly. But Eli was good, explaining everything in detail to the judge. This custody order was temporary until we returned to finalize the divorce. In turn I dropped my restraining order so the kids could see their mom. Eli went to work, contacting my witness list of people who had witnessed my ex hit me or abuse me. He gathered multiple witness statements, and he was able to submit them to the judge as bargaining power in case we went to trial.
Trial was postponed until July, 8 months later. Over that span, Eli remained in contact with me, my exs attorney, and he was able to schedule a sit down with me, my ex, and our lawyers to attempt to solve the divorce. My ex and I didn't own too many things, vehicles and furniture, a couple atvs, and a hot tub. She had 25000 in her IRA, but not much else. We had similar incomes, although on paper my ex made more. I was asking for 50-50 custody, splitting holidays and costs for my son. I asked for 8 hours a week with my step daughter, zero alimony, zero child support, and half the marital assets. My ex was asking for 100% custody with support and alimony, and no assets to be given to me. Eli had developed such a strong case against my ex that he thought I would win full custody. He explained this to the opposing council, and he used the facts of the case as leverage to negotiate a great order! As of last week, I am divorced!! I got 50-50 custody, Zero child support/alimony, and all marital assests divided!! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect outcome! Needless to say, it was a huge win, and I owe so much to Eli and to Claery and Green!
Getting divorced is not easy. It was definitely a transition for me. I have struggled to pay the balance owed to the firm, but they have been so patient and cool, and still represented me, even after I was behind over 4 months with the bill! Truly, I would HIGHLY recommend the firm to anyone going through a tricky divorce! These guys are truly the best in the business, and they deliver results! This law firm is awful! They have you pay for a retainer to start, then every day are asking for more money for something else. Not to mention they will pass you from one Jr attorney to the next. I started the process of trying to gain custody of my children, and thought that I was hiring Lance Cleary. Only to find out that he doesn't practice anymore, he only advises the Jr attorneys. My case was then given to Andrew Tran, who sounded like he knew what he was doing. But when my case went to the court he couldn't show up and had another Jr attorney show up for him. Then I guess he was to busy or couldn't handle the work load because he handed it off to the other Jr attorney. I can't give you a review on her because the Judge decided that San Diego did not have jurisdiction.

I would absolutely NOT recommend this law firm for family matters.

I had a DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RESTRAINING ORDER put on me by my wife as a tactic to position herself for custody in a divorce. I was THROWN out of my house for TWO weeks not able to see my daughters and the police made me leave with no clothes except for what I was wearing. I slept in my car. My daughters and I are very close and this was DEVASTATING to them and me. I was trying to get free consultations from Attorneys on a borrowed computer. NOBODY responded to me except ELI HAMMOND. ELI HAMMOND, a partner at CLAERY & GREEN, which is now CLAERY & HAMMOND, PERSONALLY called me a day before my hearing and took my case for a reasonable fee. ELI HAMMOND is a partner and took my case and went to my hearing PERSONALLY himself. I went to their 29th floor offices in Century City and took them my info a day before my hearing. the next morning ELI HAMMOND met me at the Chatsworth courthouse. ELI won the DISSOLVING of my DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RESTRAINING ORDER WITHOUT PREJUDICE and I am home with my daughters that night! Bamm!!! I was in tears at the victory!!! If you're in a legal battle, ELI HAMMOND is a battle partner you can't live without! My wife had some very compelling lies she documented in her order to the courts and this was not going to be an easy battle.

I've been battling brutal divorce for year and half until I hired this firm specifically Eli and Frederick who took my case very seriously and brought results which finally gave me 50% legal custody of my children I strongly recommend Fathers who fight for their children to hire this firm.

I rarely write reviews, but I have to say that Attorney Charlene Wong did an excellent job representing me on such short notice. I thought I would be able to handle my custody hearing on my own but the more I thought about it the more I felt like I would need someone in my corner to advocate for me. And the day before my hearing I spoke with Charlene and decided to hire her on a limited scope basis. I met her at the courthouse on the day of my hearing and I was SO glad to have her by my side. She didn't rush me at all and she took her time getting familiar with the details of my case. I didn't get everything that I was asking for but that's understandable since she didn't have much time to prepare. However, I'm sure she got me a far better judgment than what I could've has if I represented myself. Charlene is an excellent attorney and I highly recommend that anybody going thru a high conflict child custody case give Cleary & Hammond a call.

They are amazing and saved my case against someone trying to take custody away from me. I have been referred to Eli Hammond by a family member and the firm did an amazing job in my case. Run! Sad to see other horrible reviews but at least I know I wasn't the only one robbed by this fraud of a firm. I thought my ex was the worst human alive until I made the terrible mistake of choosing them to represent me. They made it as expensive and painful as possible. 20k for no kids or assets. Oh and did I mention my ex didn't even have council! They should be disbarred for so many reasons.

Be careful with these lawyers. They will write unsolicited letters/emails to you and charge you $40-$50 to do so. I went a month without saying a word to them and still got charged over $400. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

I hired Claery & Hammond in the midst of an ugly custody battle with my abusive ex, who was now neglecting putting our infant son in dangerous situations, resulting in injuries after every visitation. He lied in court, and the judge had agreed to unsupervised visitation. I had lost all hope. I also had horrible experiences with my 3 previous attorneys.
I hired Claery & Hammond the Friday before my Monday hearing. 15 minutes before they closed. They listened, worked together, and were up to speed on my very complex case in hours, developing (what would turn out to be) a very effective and efficient plan. These guys got me more results in 10 days than previous attorneys did in 2 yrs. Attorney Tim McArdle, was patient when listening to my (many) concerns, assertive when necessary with opposing counsel, and met deadlines I thought were impossible and facing monetary sanctions on. I was surprised to hear from Attorney Tim McArdle on weekends, Christmas Eve, and once past midnight, to ensure I d meet a deadline or answer my question. I was surprised when he quickly earned my respect (at a time when I never wanted to see another lawyer again) & exceeded my expectations. Everyone did from Claery &Hammond. I got the feeling that everyone early on that they genuinely cared and wanted what was best for my 1 yr old son.a betterHe didn t ask for any of this. Family law is tough, and it s extremely hard to find honest, knowledgeable, and experienced attorneys willing to fight for you. Claery & Hammond, well...they are the rare exception. I never thought I d EVER recommend ANY family law attorney after the previous experiences, but I d recommend these guys in a second.

I wouldn't normally talk about something as private as my child custody issues. However the service I received at Claery and Green was so good that I decided to share it. Mr. Claery spent a great deal of time with me on the phone before I even hired the firm. My questions were thoroughly answered and I felt like I was truly being listened to. I decided to go with this firm. My overall experience was extrodinary. In particular, Michael was extremely caring, understanding and smart. I was in during a very difficult child custody dispute. My sons mother had unrealistic expectations and refused to settle. Her attorney would consistently "fuel the fire." At first I was concerned that we had to go to court. However the results spoke for themselves. I am very happy with the child custody orders and I am happy with my attorney. I thought it was apparent in court that really give a hoot about me.
